I've had them on the back burner, but never really had any reason to post them. I like them a lot though, mostly because I got the Iceheart minion in the middle of her little pose.

The first screenshots of Severia and Nero that I ever posted publicly were from Moonfire 2020. I was still teaching myself to gpose and I remember how much I struggled with CMT at the time. This year marks the 4th Moonfire I've gposed Severia and Nero. I've been inflicting them on tumblr for 3 years now and I think I've improved quite a bit and had a lot of fun in that time. I hope to continue telling their story for many more Moonfires to come.

Q: What is this??

A: Well, this is the first time I've been back on tumblr while this event has been held!

This is a teaser promo for Ride the Tide 2024!

Q: What is Ride the Tide?

A: RTT is a virtual summer/beach festival that is put on in XIV in Costa del Sol. It's planned, sponsored, and held by a XIV discord community I helped to found, The Aetheryte Plaza.

We gather RP venues from all over the NA data centers and together, we run various booths for games, refreshments, and hangouts - including a main stage where well known bards will play to get you into the festival mood!

We try to hold it well out of range of the game's official Moonfire Faire, but before Pride events really start kicking off so we don't detract from them.

This will be Aetheryte Plaza's 5th year hosting the festival, and my 4th year helping with its planning!

Q: What caused AP to start hosting a summer festival?

A: The festival was first conceived by a couple of good friends of mine in 2020, just after shutdowns really started happening. And since vacation plans were out the window for a lot of people, they decided to create a virtual festival...and it was a WILD success.

I was only attending as a venue worker for one of the booths, but I got to see it all at the forefront:

We hit the zone cap!

We got the S rank to spawn in the middle of it!

We had mentors mad at us because they couldn't get their little sprouts through Titan, meanwhile said sprouts were running around with stars in their eyes because it was a FESTIVAL and this was the most players they'd seen outside of the main cities!!

People were posting all their screenshots of their WoLs hanging out together!

It was so cool to see how many people came because...in the middle of the pandemic when we couldn't physically leave, we all needed this.

Q: Is this strictly an RP event?

A: Well...the short answer is no, it's RP-lite.

The long answer is: originally it was going to be during its 1st year, but because of its nature, we got a mixed bag of RPers, casual players, streamers, and people who were just there to vibe...so RP kinda got tossed to the side unless we encountered fellow RPers.

If you're an RPer and you want to RP with the people working the booths, go for it!! They'll happily RP with those who want to.

Q: What's your role in planning?

A: If you've come this far, dear reader, I thank you because if you came here because of the image at the top of this post...then you have half of your answer!

I'm in charge of the media aspect - making teasers and posters, etc ❤️

I'm also in charge of the RTT website and the festival's interactive map. That was my addition when I joined the planning team in 2021. No more need to guess where booths are and what they offer!

However, this...is going to be my last year being on the planning team only because I stress myself way out in the late phases of the event planning, and my best friends are putting their feet down 😅

Happy 10th Anniversary to what has become my favorite MMO I've ever played.

I went into why and when I started playing here, but I figured I'd go more in-depth on my characters (and why Ki'to is my main) in this post since it's finally Rising time again.

Warning, long ass rambling post ahead

As I had mentioned, I started playing in late 2020 when a couple friends I played D&D with introduced me to it.

At that time, I created my first character Suna Amantius (Whom I still have for nostalgia, but don't play). Since au ra were free to play at that time, I made her a pink raen Arcanist. Yes, back when carbies gave every arcanist heart palpitations because they used aoe without asking. Thus why it took me a long time to pick it back up again.

We only played together a few times, but since I was so deep into Genshin, I ended up uninstalling since XIV's a massive space-hog.

When I picked it back up for the free 30 days after my other friend bought me the game & expacks, I ended up making a viera named Bunilla Chai over on Faerie since my little brother was playing over there at the time. She was a WHM, and another I have kept for nostalgia's sake. (I sadly don't have a screen for her, but she's cute. uwu)

I kinda main-hopped for a while after I got back into the game and actually subbed in September of '21. I played with Bunilla for a little while, but when the option to make male viera came out with EW, I ended up making one by the name of Kieran Vashanti (The surname being an homage to my old TERA character of the same name; Kieran actually went on to become Seire, and now Vikesh). I co-mained him alongside Orias, my longest-standing OC, who actually started out as an Elezen.

I also ended up making a lalafell since I saw how much fun my mother seemed to be having with her own. My dear little Sprout Arboris. <3

I rotated through this menagerie of mains for a while until I fanta'd and renamed Sprout. Her new name? Nox Vitae.

Yup. My horrible son was initially a sweet lalafell lady. xD Though he did go through one hell of a transition, from fem lala, to fem viera, to fem miqo, to masc viera (this was about when I had come out to my friends, so I embraced it in my main at the time as well. As such, he started out looking like a self-insert, but took on his own traits after a while. This is also why he is canonically trans ftm, as I see both viera transformations as canon for him. His fem form being what was canon in appearance for Vitae when he and U'nhea were sprouts)

(I did miss Sprout after a while though, so I remade her on Zalera later.)

Alongside Nox, who was my main for a while, I also had an alt on Siren I used to play with other friends, A'razi Tia. He was my first introduction to Monk, as well as catboys. To say I took maybe too many pictures admiring him is an understatement. Before Ki'to, he was my most gposed character. xD

We ended up moving data centers a little while after last rising, and then is when I created Y'rhala and Ki'to, whom I played as alts while I switched back to A'razi for most things.

Once I hit the CT ARs with Razi, my social anxiety got the best of me, and I decided to run an alt for a while and redo ARR. So I picked back up with Ki'to, whom I had made as a pretty ashen moon keeper simply to grab the moonfire outfit last year.

He wasn't meant to be more than an alt. Honestly, he looked like a fuckboy and it made me laugh when I logged him.

Look at this fuckin' nerd. I do miss his ashen kitty days, truth be told, but I can't fanta him now. He wouldn't look right any other way.

He looked like this until I reached post-ARR. I ended up using his ARR fanta to make him a self-insert, thus his baby-faced face 3 catboy era.

Thankfully, with the FC he joined, I ended up getting help powering through CT and finishing ARR fully. It was post-ARR that I got another fanta and gave him more defined features with face 4, and gave him the face he's known for today.

It wasn't too long after this that I made this blog and captured his adventures through HW and beyond. It was then that I committed to making him my main, as the story had sucked me in and he was my protagonist. I couldn't imagine any other in his place.

Though, the story isn't the only reason he's become my most robust OC ever, that came through story and interactions over here. I'm constantly thankful that I decided to make this blog when I did, because using it as an outlet for headcanons and getting asks from the friends I've made during his journey has made him such a well-rounded character with a clear personality and character arc.

I am very grateful for those of you I've met here, not only have you been some of the best people I've met through this game, but you've all helped to shape Ki'to in some small way. The man fights for love because he was made from love. <3

My biggest skill in ffxiv is putting things off for ages because I’m nervous to try them, only to realise they’re easier than I thought and actually often very fun once I get into them. Frontlines is one of my favourite ways to level and it took three years to try it. I finally learned how endgame crafting works this week after buying my own equipment and things for the entirety of the EW patches. During Moonfire faire 2020 - a couple of weeks after I started playing - I saw the Major-General minion and decided I really wanted him, but I was too scared to try ocean fishing to get him. I finally attempted it with some friends a few weeks ago, and within one-two trips each, I had the little guy on all four of my characters. Ocean fishing is great, why did I put it off for an entire expansion cycle?

Maybe Dawntrail will be the expansion where I actually try hard fights lmao, aside from one blind attempt with friends at the 6.4 extreme I’ve never done one.

So I've gotten my mom to try FFXIV and she is level 14 right now and practicing her targeting/killing moves!

Current skills we are working on: the basic archer rotation, targeting, switching targets when more than one critter is aggroed...and noticing when things are dead/she's being attacked.

This just in, we made it to Limsa Lominsa! Next up: Ul'dah!

She is now roaming around Ul'dah, ignoring all unsolicited FC invites from strangers

She thought the aesthetician was hilarious. We're done for the day, just before unlocking Sastasha. Not sure if she'll survive her first dungeon experience...I will have to conscript my friends into helping her!

it's getting to the point where I should probably learn how to play SMN so I can help my mom out I've programmed her crossbar for future and was like "THERE ARE SO MANY BUTTONS WHERE DO I PUT THEM ALL" Last time she played I set up the WXHB but I don't know how this will go

Our latest adventure involved the Gold Saucer, also. She got to do Air Force One and said it was fun XD She also enjoyed the Haunted Manor illusions although she had limited options due to being in ARR.

Fingers crossed I can show her leap of faith although the floating city is kinda rough, we might wanna aim for the other one...I think that's on a schedule, right?

ANYWAY she's getting close to the end of ARR now, so I have to make her do leveling dungeon once each play session XD fun times. I will most likely unsync castrum and prae so she doesn't have to deal with buttheads potentially

Anyway she should hit 50 tomorrow! Then I'll take her through Castrum and Prae (unsynced for Prae for sure, otherwise the usual PUG speed means she'll be running through in utter confusion and not processing anything)

I'm kinda on the fence about castrum unsynced. It's a bit less annoying with a full group so I don't have to do e v e r y t h i n g but I also don't like salty people near my mom so...hm.

Moonfire Faire 2020 YCHs!

How This Will Work:

Fill out the provided Google Form within the 96 hour time frame.

The form will be open from 5pm PST/8pm EST TODAY to 5pm PST/8pm EST on Monday, August 24th. If you miss that window, you miss out!

Once the submissions are closed I will tally up everyone who submitted and pick via random number generator. This way, everyone has a fair chance!

If you were not picked for the first round, don’t be discouraged! I’ll continue to randomly pick through the submissions up until I grow tired of doing YCHs. 

If you cannot pay for your slot when I pick you, you forfeit your slot and it gets passed to the next person.

Rules:

Each YCH will go for 4 Million Gil Donations (Crystal Only) or $40 USD!

Payment will upfront or partial. Upfront Payments must be made within 24 hours once selected. Partial Payments require 2 mil or $20 upfront and the rest once completed.

These will be worked on in-between current commissions.

There is a limit of 2 YCHs per person.

The pose will not be altered. The only thing I will change is the expression, race and the gender of the template!
