Imagine waking up on your couch, the sun peering through the window and a book in your hand. Discarding the book on the coffee table when you hear light scratching noises coming from your back door, the door that leads to your garden. Smiling to yourself, you know exactly who it is that's so persistent on being let in. Making sure you look presentable, you open the door to see...
Two foxes. Two very identical foxes, sitting at your feet with ears pinned to their heads and eyes glossy in an attempt to look in desperate need of affection. You roll your eyes at their attempt, 'Don't they know they look cute enough as is?'. Cooing at them to come inside, to which they happily oblige, and ushering them to sit on the couch while you try your best to clean up the area first. You can tell your fluffy guests are getting impatient with their repeated whines from the couch, still giving you those impossibly adorable 'sad eyes'. Well, you don't have much of a choice now do you?
"Alright I'm done cleaning, be patient you two" a playful smile on your lips before dropping on the sofa with your arms opened dramatically for them. Your fox companions waste no time in snuggling into your sunken figure, licking at your face because at last you can pay attention to them. You pet both their heads and watch them melt deeper into your embrace. They may not be your foxes, but might as well be with the amount of times you find yourself in this exact predicament. It seems their antics knows no bounds because as soon as you even think about getting up they immediately start pawing at your dress, careful to not damage the garment, in an attempt to make you stay.
"Oh come on you two, I'll be back as soon as I finish making snacks ok?" two pairs of ears perked up at that. Making eye contact with each other, the foxes look back at you excitedly and lunge forward at you in joy. Stumbling back from the soft forces that collided with you, a laugh resonates from you as you struggle to hold both foxes in your arms. Nuzzling against the underside of your chin, happily squealing while your shower them with a train of kisses atop their heads.
Your fox companions agree that coming back to you will never be a bad choice. Even more so when just outside your window, a few more oval pairs of eyes watch the twins in your embrace. Though behind the oval eyes was a figure with ears and a tail, sighing at the antics of his group. Wondering when you'll find out the truth about your odd coloured companions and just how you would react to such a thing...
