Statement of Problem
           The dynamism of the current business environment in combination with globalization makes the operations in organizations more complex and challenging. It is thus difficult to realize any profits forcing leaders and subordinates within an organization to change the way they relate. This also calls for leaders and subordinates to work together in order to meet the goals of the organization. Organizations are currently adopting agile leadership and learning in order to adapt and fit into this new environment. However, agility is a rare skill and numerous organizations never bother with it. In addition to this, there is limited research that analyses the way leaders can undergo agility training and use this knowledge to improve their organization. This has been one of the reasons why organizations do not achieve success even after adopting agility in leadership. There is a need to make agility a requirement for the whole organization (Hamman & Spayd, 2015).
Purpose of Research
           This research seeks to explain the application of agile coaching on the improvement of leaders. The research goes further to analyze how agile leaders or leaders who have undergone training in agility can easily use this knowledge to transform their organizations positively. This research seeks to show how leaders utilize agility to overcome the numerous challenges evident in the business world. The research will show that agility is a trait that is acquirable and if used effectively, it could help a leader manage the numerous challenges in an organization (Grena, Torkar, & Feldt, 2015).
Research Questions
           In order to achieve the objectives of this research, the following research questions will be answered:
                    i.            How can agility be used to improve the performance of an organization?
                  ii.            Can leaders be trained to achieve agility?
                iii.            What is the impact of coaching leaders in agility?
                iv.            How do leaders use agility in improving the performance of an organization after coaching?
Research Hypothesis
           The hypothesis used in this study is:
Ha = It is not possible to improve agility in leaders in an organization through coaching.
Research Design
           This research aims to analyze the existing information on the use of agile coaching and how it can be improved. The research aims to describe the way agile coaching has been used, the problems it is facing and how it can be improved in an organization. To achieve this, the research will adopt a meta-analytic research design. In their analysis of research designs, Grena, Torkar, and Feldt (2015) explain that a meta-analytic research design makes it possible to combine both quantitative and qualitative data from a myriad of scientific sources. This information is then used to make a strong conclusion supported by scientific data.
           This research design is preferred because it helps in the collection of data from secondary and primary sources and also gives the researcher an opportunity to analyze information from the respondents. A preponderance of research on agile coaching presents varying and sometimes conflicting results. By use of meta-analytic research design, it is possible to establish theoretical and statistical significance of this information. In addition to this, it is also possible to develop a correct estimate of the magnitude of effects.
           The research will collect data from questionnaires answered by respondents from various organizations. Respondents will be identified from two urban schools. The respondents will be chosen using characteristics such as leadership, their knowledge of agile coaching and their support of or dislike of agile coaching. In lieu to a Meta analytic research design, the sample population has to be sufficient to represent the characteristics of the whole population. For this reason, the total number of respondents was 52; 2 female school principals, 2 male school principals, 13 male teachers and 12 female teachers. 5 male teachers, 5 female teachers and one principal will be used as the control group. They will not be subjected to any coaching but they will take part in the study.
Variables
           This study intends to analyze whether leaders who have obtained training or coaching in agility can utilize this knowledge to handle the current challenges in the environment and also improve their organizations. To this end, the independent variable is agility or the trait of agility. The dependent variables include the responsiveness of the leaders to agility training and the effect of this training on organizational improvement. The predictor is the success of the organization while the outcome is a difference in the management of the organization such that there is better management after the training.
           The expectation of this research is that agile coaching usually makes leaders more receptive and capable of handling numerous challenges in the business environment. The research also intends to show that there is an improvement in leaders after they undertake training in leadership. Owing to the fact that this is a multivariate study, there is need for the use of both ordinal and ratio scales. Using the ratio scale, it is possible to show that as one factor improves, another one improves also. The questionnaire will also have a Likert scale at the end to unveil the feelings of both principals (leaders) and other teachers (subordinates) on agility.  The treatment group or sample will be subjected to agility training while the control group will not be trained.
  Validity
           According to Grena, Torkar, and Feldt (2015) the validity of a research confirms that the research measures only what is required, and also provides an approximation of the extent to which the conclusion is true.
Construct Validity
           This can be determined using the perception of the respondents to measure constructs which may be difficult to comprehend (Murphy & Dingwall, 2003). The target populations in this case are the principals and teachers of two urban schools. These are experts in the field of leadership and agility because they either run the affairs of the institutions and their individual classrooms or students. In addition to this, the study is made more objective by undertaking rigorous and intensive statistical tests.
Internal Validity
           Statistical validity. Statistical validity will be established by making sure that there is a relationship or variation between causes and effect factors (Dixon-Woods, Sutton, Shaw, Miller, Smith, Young, Bonas, Booth, & Jones, 2007; Holt, 2011). Statistical validity has been established by using a sufficient sample population, using a suitable sampling procedure and the application of reliable and appropriate statistical tests.
External Validity
           Concurrent validity. The choice of a tool used in collecting data should be based on the idea that the results produced from that tool are similar or almost similar to another one that is confirmed as effective. To this end, the process of operation in the research will be borrowed from existing tools.
Ethical Issues
           A survey of the research in agile coaching in leadership portrays a confluence of forces that create several crises in the ethics of the use of agile coaching. One of the major problems is the fact that there are no standards in relation to agile coaching. A pertinent question that arises in this case is how to determine whether agile coaching is working. The lack of standards also implies that the study is liable to bias. This problem is especially magnified in situations where some consultant models make the client highly dependent. In this case, agile coaching loses its direction.
           In lieu to the strong relationship between the coach and the student, ethical problems may emanate from a relationship that is devoid of boundaries. For instance, the coach may find that they interfere with the feedback or even activities that are supposed to be conducted by the student. In this scenario, there may be interference of other issues such as bonuses, appraisals, compensation and even incentives. When the coach violates the safety space and the autonomy of the student, their well-being is undermined and this leads to poor performance.
           The lack of standards may also make it difficult to track the recommendations and whether the suggestions were implemented. Considering that agile coaching relies on micro-management, it still does not call for policing individuals. The people being coached are not supposed to be forced to perform any function as motivation is expected to be innate. For this reason, some situations may interfere with the whole process of agile coaching and confirming the extent to which it works.

As our world continues to digitize, the need to collect, analyze, interpret, store, and use data increases.  In the education world, for better or worse, testing and data are driving decisions more and more as schools seek to be evidence-driven and governing bodies seek accountability.  Who creates those tests?  Who collects the data and what do they do with it?  How is the data used and how do schools implement research into school policy? Or student learning? The answer is that a great many people do.  Their job titles vary and include: Educational psychologists, statisticians, research analysts, or psychometricians.  These data-interested, quantitatively-motivated souls design testing instruments and systems, gather and assess data, manage databases and other programs to evaluate data and/or prepare reports,conduct studies and surveys, and advise educational policy boards.  
To qualify for work in assessment and evaluation requires graduate work.  Historically the Master’s of Assessment, Measurement, and Evaluation was a psychology degree, however, with data now driving decisions, the assessment degree has expanded into other fields.  The Master’s (MEd, MA, or MS) in Educational Assessment, Measurement, and Evaluation focuses on the application of data-analysis, assessment tools, qualitative and quantitative research, psychometrics, statistics, and evaluation in educational settings for the purpose of improving student learning and institutional effectiveness.  Each of the nation’s 16,000 school districts and each of the 50 state education departments collects large quantities of data to assess the impact of schooling in its community;  in addition to these there are many state and federal data-collection programs that are driving demand for highly-skilled analysts and directors.
  What goes into a Master’s in Educational Assessment, Measurement, and Evaluation (EAME)?
A master’s (MEd, MA, or MS)  in EAME is focused on the foundational knowledge and skills in assessing learning, both individually and institutionally, measuring and analyzing data, and evaluating data through testing, surveys, and other techniques of collecting it.  The purpose of practitioners is to improve student learning by improving institutional effectiveness.  Since the degree is interdisciplinary it draws from social science, research design, and psychology.  Historically the EAME degree had a social science and psychology focus, however, now the demand for highly-skilled analysts has spilled into many areas from K-12 schools, institutions of higher learning, government agencies, testing companies, and the corporate world.  Coursework includes classes in:

The answer to this depends on what you’re looking for.  The best degrees fit your needs and goals. The Graduate School of Education and Human Development’s MA in Assessment, Testing, and Measurement in Education is the “nation’s premier graduate training in psychometric and statistical methods taught by faculty who are engaged in world-class research.”  The 30-credit program includes courses in foundational assessment, design of ATM models, and educational testing as well as a culminating capstone project and cumulative exam.  Due to the fact that statistical measurement is now integral to corporate, educational and non-profit operations, having the MA in ATM will allow you to work in school districts, institutions of higher education, research-oriented organizations, federal research agencies, or nonprofit organizations.  The ATM program is 15-months and is designed for individuals who are entering or advancing in positions.

13. University of Maryland – College Park
Founded in 1856, the University of Maryland the flagship and a land-grant institution of the UM System. The School’s 37,000 students have amazing academic choices with 250 academic programs and the tremendous advantage of having the Library of Congress, National Archives and the Smithsonian Institution just five miles away.

Rutgers Graduate School of Education offers an Ed.M. in Educational Statistics, Measurement, and Evaluation (ESME).  The degree trains you with the knowledge and skills for employment in a variety of fields; for example, researchers or data analysts in the fields of social science research, educational testing, marketing research, or pharmaceutical research.  A sampling of coursework includes Statistical Methods, Psychometric Theory, Applied Multivariate Analysis, and Causal Modeling.  The ESME program is 33 credits and does not require a thesis or comprehensive exam.  Admission includes a bachelor’s degree, GRE scores, three letters of recommendation, and a personal statement.

Pennsylvania State University is a leader in teaching, research, and public service. The MS in Educational Psychology, Measurement and Evaluation is offered through the Department of Educational Psychology, Counseling, and Special Education.  There are two tracks, thesis and non-thesis; the non-thesis is intended for those not seeking to move into a doctoral program.  The 30-credit program includes coursework and a paper/thesis.  Courses include Applied Statistical Inference for the Behavioral Sciences, Learning Processes in Relation to Educational Practices, Introduction to Educational Research, and Principles of Measurement.  There are teaching and research assistantships available, though priority is given to those who apply for the MS/PhD program; hence, it would be advisable to apply and decide later whether moving into the PhD program is best.  
In your search for the perfect fit, Penn State is worth a look because we are all looking for the highest quality for the best price.  At Penn State the tuition is not cheap, but is affordable at $1,428 and the mid-career salary is $91,900 making the ROI favorable.  As for quality, Penn State lives up to its Public Ivy reputation.
16. University of North Carolina – Greensboro
Founded in 1891, the University of North Carolina “defines excellence not only by the people we attract, but by the meaningful contributions they make.” The 19,000 students are offered 86 undergraduate, 74 master’s, and 32 doctoral programs.  UNCG is recognized as for research, community engagement, and Weatherspoon Art Museum, one of the largest collections of American art in the country.
The MS in Educational Research, Measurement, and Evaluation (ERM) at UNCG is excellent. UNCG’s ERM program has two concentrations as well: Measurement and Quantitative Methods and Program Evaluation.  The 33-credit program teaches foundational knowledge and skills amounting to a comprehensive education in educational research, measurement, and evaluation through coursework, practicums, hands-on field experiences, and a comprehensive exam.   The program for those seeking career advancement or ambitions to move into doctoral work in fields that employ quantitative research methods.
