Hi! I figured I should probably make a pinned post but I don’t have the energy to make one right now so I’m just gonna edit it later
I’m a r/196 refugee
My main *me* tags are #Nemo.posts, #Nemo.adds, and I guess #Nemo.asks

That is just not true. Ublock Lite was developed specifically to work with Manifest v3.
While the functionality is apparently more limited, casual users probably wouldn’t notice any difference between UBOrigin and UBLite. I love Firefox, but you shouldn’t have to lie to get people to switch.

The most popular browsers in different countries in 2012 and 2022.

I hate the way this graph is put together (cats and windows both have the same bar, although now that I’m typing this, they probably used width too) so I found a different one.
This article specifically mentions "Loss et. al 2014c" as their source for power lines, so the 57 million vs. 5.6 million must be a typo. (I understand that they are different years, but the number probably didn't change by 50 million in a year)

source (pdf)
Its also important to mention that there isn't a lack of agricultural chemical deaths in the US, it just wasn't measured:
"The difficulty of linking rates and locations of chemical applications with the presence and amount of bird poisoning mortality has largely prevented estimation of national bird mortality from this source. An exception is a quantitative review that estimated that between 1 and 4.4 million birds are killed annually by pesticides in Canada (Calvert et al. 2013)."
as a huge lover of birds, 90% of the concern against wind turbines being used for energy is literally just pro fossil fuel propaganda. birds ARE at a risk however there is a lot of strategies even as simple as painting one of the blades that reduces a lot of accidental deaths. additionally renewable energy sources will do more in favor of the environment that would positively impact birds (and all of us). one study found over one million bird deaths from wind turbines. while that is a shockingly high number and we should work to drastically shrink it, at least 1.3 billion birds die to outdoor cats on a yearly basis. it was never about caring about birds

Windows 11 Home (the version most people have) does not have the group policy editor. You can either download it by looking up how to, but it can also be done using the Registry Editor. However, if you aren't very careful YOU CAN SCREW UP YOUR COMPUTER A LOT messing around in the Registry Editor. I was mainly interested in disabling search in the search menu
I would recommend still searching up how to do it just to double check that this works, though.
I got a laptop with Windows 11 for an IT course so I can get certified, and doing the first time device set-up for it made me want to commit unspeakable violence
Windows 11 should not exist, no one should use it for any reason, it puts ads in the file explorer and has made it so file searches are also web searches and this cannot be turned off except through registry editing. Whoever is responsible for those decisions should be killed, full stop.
Switch to linux, it's free and it's good.

Where I live has an old tree that someone made a misinformation campaign (early 20th century) in order to save. The tree is now named after that misinformation
wikipedia vandalism is actually insane if it happens perfectly. at one point my brother edited a fictionalized version of himself into our town's history, just as a random side character, and then some local historical societies lifted it without citing the source as wikipedia, and then wikipedia cited them, so now it's true

Having read the article, their main claim (or at least theory) seems to be that immigrant children are branching back into their cultural food now that they aren’t so concerned with fitting in (?) I definitely agree that this is the weirdest non-satire article I’ve ever read. She just seems really obsessed with mayo.

what the fuck is this article

I looked it up the normal way and the first thing google pulled up was this. I have no clue why a seemingly fracking company has this article saved (unless it’s a fake website ofc)
…which links to this Onion article at the bottom

#Nemo.adds#so it’s a real article; the ai just has shitty reading comprehension which is pretty on par for humans

this is what it was supposed to look like. "Carving started in 1927 and ended in 1941".
It hasn't been worked on, really, for over 8 decades

Yep. It’s an ongoing issue with tumblr. They tried to fix it last update, made it worse, and reverted it. Apparently if someone gives you an ask and then deletes their blog or gets terminated, it turns into the phantom ask it is right now.
hey question
is it normal to have a message in my ask box that i cant see
