Happy 1-Year Anniversary to Noctyx!!! ❤️🧡💛💙💜

Noctyx was the wave that got me into NijiEn. I randomly came across one of Alban’s YT shorts during pre-debut, which made me look up clips out of interest. Eventually, they debuted, and I found myself liking him at the time. I don’t really watch him often due to timezones + general lack of interest, but he does have a special place in my heart for getting me to watch Vtubers.

Sonny… I don’t really watch his streams that much nowadays either due to the sheer backlog of VODs, but he’s still incredibly entertaining to me. I remember watching his debut and being awed by his lore video, and I remember just how tame he was back then compared to the absolute menace he is now.

I don’t really watch Fulgur, but I really like seeing him in collabs! The song he released last night was absolutely beautiful, even as an instrumental. I’ve been wanting to get into his streams for a while, but they’re so long and he streams so late at night… Not to mention, he plays lots of story-based games too. I like those kinds of games, but that combined with the long length of his streams kinda discourages me from watching his gaming streams… I should definitely watch his other stuff though, it seems really fun.

Any discussion of Noctyx isn’t complete without Yugo. I remember seeing his debut get delayed over multiple days and being absolutely shocked when the intro screen depicted him drowning (I thought his lore would be lighthearted to serve as a breather after all the previous angsty ones, but that clearly wasn’t the case.) Seeing him improve over time was one of his charms, and you can tell he was starting to really grow once he stopped focusing on gaming streams. It’s a shame so many people won’t be able to watch him now because he was one of the best singers! I remember waking up from a nap and suddenly seeing sad tweets from the rest of Noctyx. That was how I found out about his graduation, and I’m still somewhat salty the company was so opaque with how they broke the news. At the very least, I hope he’s in a better place now, and that he finds new opportunities.

After trying to decide who my Noctyx oshi was, I’ve decided that it’s Uki. His voice is really soothing, and I like the vibes of his streams. That said, his wilder moments are good too. I don’t watch him much due to timezones, but I do enjoy booting up his VODS in the background while doing things.

Overall, while I may not watch the Noctyx boys a lot I still really love them! May they march onward to the future!
