VoIP PBX - Enabling Business Growth
VoIP PBX - Enabling Business Growth
Enterprise communications has all the time been a challenging enviornment for administration....subject to price, perform, reliability, and other pressures and concerns. The emergence of VoIP expertise....and particularly utility to PBX techniques via IP primarily based protocols....has provided an infinite opportunity for firms to reap many advantages.
Many firms today have a number of office areas across the country or around the world. Presently, each office uses its own PBX system and inter-office telephone calls are routed through the PSTN and charged long distance and worldwide charges by carriers. Most corporations also employ staff on ip pbx uae an element time basis who work from their houses. These workers get reimbursed for telecommunication bills they incur while performing their duties. It simply makes enterprise sense for firms to explore alternate options to consolidate their telecommunication systems and scale back prices.
The answer......buy a Voice-over-IP enabled PBX system and deploy it in a Digital Office setup.
Voice-over-IP (VoIP) is a reasonably new technology for transporting voice calls over the Internet which allows customers to comprehend substantial value savings on long distance and worldwide calls. Besides price effectiveness, VoIP enabled PBX methods (or IP PBX) supply easy integration with existing telecommunications methods and are characterised with low working costs as their improve is done by way of software updates rather than more expensive hardware substitute. Moreover, the expertise simplifies the communication infrastructure (no need for separate voice and data cables) while providing excessive scalability.
Digital Office models are used by firms that wish to consolidate their communications, cut back costs and achieve extra cohesive company photographs. To implement the model, an organization has to install a single IP PBX system in its headquarters and distribute to employees IP telephones or common telephones with VoIP adapters. Staff can make intra-office and inter-office telephone calls by dialing PBX extensions. Such calls are routed via the Web and are practically free. Firm customers, on the other aspect, can dial a single inbound number plus extensions as a way to reach the company's staff. The latter obtain the calls on their IP/Common Telephones at any location on the planet with Web connectivity.
So what kind of a VoIP PBX solution does your business need? - a turnkey Digital Office answer that could be personalized to meet your organization particular wants.
My suggestion for this solution is the highly acclaimed bundle from Packet8. Not too long ago 8X8, Inc's Packet8 Digital Workplace Resolution for small and medium sized businesses obtained Community Computing Journal's Editor's Choice award over aggressive offerings from Covad Communications and Velocity Networks. That is some pretty stiff competition....and says loads about Packet8's performance. The Packet8 Virtual Office solution acquired the best total ranking for its wealthy feature set, call management tools and low subscription price.
The Packet8 Virtual Office is an economical, simple-to-use different to conventional PBX methods that enables users anyplace on this planet to be a part of a VoIP-hosted digital cellphone system that includes auto attendants, conference bridges, extension-to-extension dialing, enterprise class voicemail and ring groups, along with a rich variety of different enterprise telephone options usually discovered on excessive-finish, premise primarily based PBX programs. Their Virtual Workplace reduces a company's telecommunications total price of possession (TCO) with a minimal preliminary investment combined with unlimited native and lengthy distance business calling all through the United States and Canada and Packet8's low worldwide rates.
VoIP PBX or IP PBX (Internet Protocol Personal Branch Trade) is a telephony system that makes use of IP knowledge networks to facilitate telecommunication. The speedy benefit of VoIP PBX is that enterprises utilizing it need not have to interchange their present telephones or phone numbers to accommodate the new VoIP facility. It's a strong technology that works in tandem with the present communication infrastructures. In different words, the VoIP know-how can use the existing PSTN lines by way of the VoIP gateway, and there is no a lot of extra infrastructure concerned in its entire set up.
How does a VoIP PBX work?
The basic architecture of an IP PBX system consists of an IP PBX server, one or more SIP telephones or VoIP phones, and a VoIP gateway, as talked about already, to hook up with the prevailing PSTN lines (optionally available though). The IP PBX server functions quite much like a proxy server. The SIP or VoIP phones, which could be either hardware phones or gentle telephones, has to register with the IP PBX server, and after they want to make a name to another cellphone - a VoIP or SIP phone - actually a request is ship to the IP PBX server to determine the connection. The IP PBX server could have a directory of all users/phones and their respective SIP addresses, and using this data, it could connect an internal call or route an exterior call via a VoIP service provider or a VoIP gateway, whichever is applicable. The process is simply quick and simple.
So, what are the advantages of VoIP PBX over standard PBX techniques?
An important plus of VoIP PBX is that it's many occasions simpler to install and configure than a traditional telephone system. Anyone who is aware of the basics of pc and networking can set up the IP PBX in a LAPTOP and keep it fairly well. Also, since it's all software, there isn't a complex wiring involved anywhere. If anyone wants to attach a hardware Visit blog cellphone to an IP PBX system, he/she will directly plug it into a regular network port (soft telephones can be put in straight into the LAPTOP). This have to be learn within the backdrop of the fact that within the case of proprietary phones, solely a trained technician could deal with its set up, configuration, wiring, and total maintenance.
Another massive benefit of IP PBX is its low price of operation. Since the calls make use of IP networks, even lengthy distance worldwide calls are many occasions cheaper. If the decision is made between the phone programs that hyperlinks the branches of enterprises, it is completely free of price. Additional, since IP PBX is built on an open SIP customary, users can use any SIP software/hardware telephone with nearly any SIP based PSTN Gateway, IP PBX or VoIP provider. There isn't a query of a vendor lock-in in any circumstance.
One more constructive with IP PBX is that it may easily handle any number of extra phone connections and extensions with out disturbing the effectivity of the community. This is in deep distinction to the traditional phone programs, which might require further hardware modules to accommodate the newer connections and extensions.
The IP PBX serves as a gateway in order to transfer voice in Voice Over IP networks. This gateway really performs the role of a phone change as is found in conventional networks. The presence of PBX permits customers of VoIP to ship voice mails and messages to others residing at distant locations of the world.
The precept beneath which VoIP works may be very easy. The voice is transformed into digital packets and sent to the tip customers in digital packet forms. On receiving the alerts on the other finish, it is reconverted to its original voice type. The VoIP PBX serves as a gateway for such transference and supports greater than sixteen extensions at a time. It means that upto sixteen or more users can send voice message to different locations utilizing the PBX. The users of the Voice over IP can receive indicators without any generation loss. It means that there isn't any modifications in quality of voice after it's being delivered.
The IP PBX VoIP has a in-built router that's preferrred for small in addition to massive workplaces. Folks can make use of the router of VoIP PBX to send messages in text formats Click Here for Wikipedia while forwarding calls to the top customers. Thus customers of this mode of telephony have the choice to share files and send messages while forwarding calls to others.

This 3-means calling know-how permits a variety of individuals to affix in a conference and share their views. This characteristic of VoIP is very important www.ippbxuae.com/voippbx/ for enterprise houses to utilize the technology to share files with others. Vienna featured former CT Whale Kelsey Tessier. The VHL (Vyasa Hockey League) the AHL to Russia’s KHL league saw Sary Arka Karaganda (Kazakhstan) knocked off Rubin Tyumen in a four-game sweep. NCAA RECRUITING CHANGE A long overdue change in the NCAA recruiting process for hockey was finally passed and becomes effective May 1st. The recruiting period for high school sophomores is limited until after January 1st allowing for phone calls, e-mails, texts, unofficial school visits, and camp and clinic conversations only. Then a window starting August 1st of their junior year when a scholarship offers can be made verbally by the school, official visits can be made and off-campus visits can be done. Not perfect, but a start to the present system that is wide open, with no structures and kids as young as 14-years-old were making oral commitments to schools. Conferring adulthood, so early has been the sin of the college recruiting process in part to counteract the Canadian major junior leagues ability to offer more inducements to young hockey players to go that route. Presently, a hockey player can play Canadian Junior A hockey which is a step below major junior in leagues like the BCHL or AJHL and still retain their NCAA eligibility, but if they play a minute of hockey with a major junior team, pre-season or regular season, they are ineligible to play collegiate hockey. This is the first step to curb the insanity and bring some normalcy to the process and a perfect example of this is 15-year-old Max Namestnikov, the son of former Wolf Pack Evgeni "John" Namestnikov, and the brother of current Ranger, Vladislav Namestnikov, just made an oral commit to Michigan State (Big 10) for 2023-24 ! The pyramid for a young US born hockey player who wants to gain a scholarship is first public school, then prep school, then the US junior or Canadian junior A and then college. Read more HERE. (EY), which was appointed as the monitor in the case of the company’s bankruptcy, has issued its first report to the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia. The document exposes that last Wednesday, just a day after EY was appointed as the monitor, the exchange team for some reason sent out considerable funds to a wallet it now claims not to control.
The report reads: “On February 6, 2019, Quadriga inadvertently transferred 103 bitcoins valued at approximately $468,675 to Quadriga cold wallets which the Company is currently unable to access. The Monitor is working with Management to retrieve this cryptocurrency from the various cold wallets, if possible.”
EY has made arrangements to transfer the remaining cryptocurrency holdings into a cold wallet which will be retained by the monitor pending further order of the court. It has also secured various electronic devices reportedly used by the reportedly deceased former CEO of the operation, including two active laptops, two older laptops, two active cell phones, two “dead” cell phones and three encrypted USB keys.
Bithumb to Launch UAE Exchange
According to reports from South Korea, Bithumb has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Abu Dhabi-based Nvelop to establish a joint authorized fiat-to-cryptocurrency exchange in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Having established a foothold in the region with this partnership, the South Korean group is reportedly planning to further expand its operations in the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), which include Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.
Bithumb has been on an international expansion push recently. Only this weekend news.Bitcoin.com reported that the group has launched a new over-the-counter (OTC) trading platform for institutional clients which will be offered under the Ortus brand owned by its Hong Kong-based subsidiary. It is also reportedly working with U.S.-based Series One to build a security token exchange and talking with Russian companies about possible partnerships.
Coinbase Wallet Offers Cloud Backup
On Feb. 12, Coinbase Wallet notified its clients that they can now back up an encrypted version of their wallet private keys to cloud storage on Google Drive or iCloud. This new feature is meant to help prevent users from losing their funds if their mobile devices are stolen or if they forget their private keys. The company explained that the backup is optional as users must opt in to activate it, encrypted with AES-256-GCM encryption and accessible only by the Coinbase Wallet mobile app. Coinbase also intends to add support for other cloud services in the future beyond Google and Apple’s.
The move was not well received by some members of the crypto community, who fear it sacrifices user security in the name of convenience. Jesse Powell, CEO of competing exchange Kraken, tweeted in response: “I am not a fan of training users on bad security. Cloud storage, while convenient, is constantly compromised, especially with all the SIM porting. 99% chance the people who would unwittingly use this do not have passwords strong enough to withstand professional cracking.”
Chainalysis Secures $30M in Funding
Blockchain surveillance company Chainalysis has announced it’s raised a $30 million Series B led by Accel, with participation from existing investors. The company plans to use the new funding to grow its global footprint and invest more in new cryptocurrencies and multi-currency support. Chainalysis also officially opened an office in London that will act as a regional hub and plans to double its headcount in the city to better work with the major financial institutions based there, as well as nearby European governments.
Accel stated that it choose to make an investment in Chainalysis because it is a company that “uniquely leverages deep analytics and machine learning to help law enforcement agencies track illicit crypto transactions and financial institutions comply with anti-money laundering rules—important pillars towards the inevitable maturation of the cryptocurrency space.”

The Cybersecurity Stories We Were Jealous of in 2019
Cyber! Cyber! Cyber! We all love information security here at Motherboard. It seems no one can have enough cyber in their lives these days.
Yet, 2019 was actually kind of a slow year in terms of cybersecurity news, perhaps because hackers are saving their best shots for 2020. Still, there were some truly astounding and enthralling stories published on the internet about hackers, digital privacy, and surveillance.
As we did last year, we’re rounding up our favorite stories not written by us. We call it Motherboard’s Cyber Jealousy list, our annual hat tip to our awesome competitors, friends, and enemies at other outlets. Thanks for being awesome and pushing us to do better and working with us to give readers important stories they need to care about. We love scooping you, we hate being scooped by you, but in the end we’re all working toward the same goal: writing impactful cybersecurity stories in the public interest.
Without further ado, here’s our list of the best infosec stories published elsewhere. Enjoy and see you in 2020!
The Untold Story of the 2018 Olympics Cyberattack, the Most Deceptive Hack in History
By: Andy Greenberg
This is the blow-by-blow account of how Russian government hackers targeted the Pyeongchang's Winter Olympics in South Korea, shutting down part of its IT infrastructure during the opening ceremony. The most surprising part of this hack is that the perpetrators cleverly hid their provenance, with layers of false flags to deceive investigators looking into the hack. The hackers, for example, used a data-deleting tool used by North Korean government hackers, and password-stealing code previously used by Chinese government hackers in an attempt to lead investigators to point the finger to the wrong country. In this story, an excerpt from his new book Sandworm, Andy Greenberg tells us how researchers were able to unravel the web of planted clues and find the real culprits.
The Sinkhole That Saved the Internet
By: Zack Whittaker
In May of 2017, an unprecedented ransomware outbreak hit hundreds of thousands of computers all over the world, including systems belonging to the UK’s National Health Services, forcing health care facilities to turn patients away and close emergency rooms. The virus was called WannaCry, and its viral spread was stopped by two clever security researchers who realized the malware included a kill-switch. This enthralling piece details for the first time what it was like to stop WannaCry directly from the point of view of the two researchers, Marcus Hutchins—aka MalwareTech—and Jamie Hankins.
Inside The UAE’s Secret Hacking Team Of American Mercenaries
By: Christopher Bing and Joel Schectman
DarkMatter, the shadowy cybersecurity company from Dubai, has long been under scrutiny for its alleged shady practices. Chris Bing and Joel Schectman published this bombshell of a story that finally showed faces and concrete stories: the company was using former US intelligence operatives to run espionage operations on behalf of the United Arab Emirates government. A former NSA analyst went on the record for this story, providing documents and other data that showed how American DarkMatter employees targeted journalists and human rights workers, sometimes using a sophisticated iPhone hacking tool to hack their targets. The Reuters duo followed up this deep-dive with another scoop just a few days ago, revealing that White House cybersecurity veterans played a key role in building the UAE’s intelligence apparatus in the late 2000s and early 2010s.
Beto O’Rourke’s Secret Membership In America’s Oldest Hacking Group
By: Joseph Menn
This incredible story about Texas politician Beto O’Rourke’s membership in one of the oldest American hacking collectives, Cult of The Dead Cow, is a wild ride. As part of the hacktivist group in the 1980s, O’Rourke wrote a murder fantasy in which the narrator drives over children, imagined a world without money, and stole long distance phone calls. He didn’t actually hack much, but he was an active member and attended hacker conferences. His membership in the group was kept secret for decades, until Joseph Menn revealed it in this article, part of his book on the hacktivist group. O’Rourke’s presidential bid is over, but, perhaps, his story will help normalize how Americans see hackers in the future.
Undercover Agents Target Cybersecurity Watchdog
By: Raphael Satter
This was legitimately one of the most grotesque stories of the year. Spies working for a private intelligence company targeted researchers at Citizen Lab, a digital rights watchdog known for tracking spyware companies. The spies approached the researchers under false premises and were unmasked when one of the targets, John Scott-Railton, worked with journalist Raphael Satter to set up a sting operation against the spies. When Scott-Railton met in New York City with one of the spies, Satter crashed the meeting along with videomakers to confront the spy. The spy’s operation was so weird and sloppy that Satter described it as “half John Le Carré and half Mr. Bean.”
Inside Google’s Team Fighting to Keep Your Data Safe From Hackers
By: Robert McMillan
This was a good profile of a little-known Google security team that tracks government hackers: the Threat Analysis Group, or TAG. In this piece, The Wall Street Journal’s Robert McMillan scored one of the first ever interviews with TAG’s leader, Shane Huntley, who is a former Australian government hacker himself. Huntley talked about what his team does and what hackers they track, sharing details about some of the operations they derailed for the first time. (Note: Huntley later came onto our podcast CYBER.)
Attacking the Heart of the German Industry
By: Hakan Tanriverdi, Svea Eckert, Jan Strozyk, Maximilian Zierer, and Rebecca Ciesielski
It's always impressive and rewarding when reporters take tools usually reserved for cybersecurity professionals but use them to uncover something journalistically. In this case, a joint investigation by German public broadcasters BR and NDR found that Chinese state-backed hackers had broken into German companies. They didn't do this based entirely on talking to sources, but by scanning company servers for signs of Chinese malware.
"In all cases where Winnti was installed, the malware will respond to our request. This tells us: That company has been hacked," the article reads, referring to the specific strain of malware.
A Multimillionaire Surveillance Dealer Steps Out Of The Shadows . . . And His $9 Million WhatsApp Hacking Van
By: Thomas Brewster
Perhaps the most bizarre cyber story of the year. This is the profile of a shady Israeli surveillance maker, who sells a $9 million hacking van, which is supposed to be able to hack nearby phones equipped with WhatsApp—“the A-Team truck spliced with a Bond car,” as the author of the piece, Thomas Brewster, put it. In the article, the surveillance maker, named Tal Dilian, defended his industry’s reputation, saying people like him, or the controversial spyware maker NSO Group, “are not the policemen of the world, and we are not the judges of the world,” meaning it’s up to their customers to do the right thing, they just provide the tools. Dilian clearly is a believer, as he agreed to show Brewster the van for an accompanying video.
These Hackers Made an App That Kills to Prove a Point
By: Lily Hay Newman
Medical devices’ security has been under scrutiny and under suspicion for a few years now. But this story drives home how dangerous flaws in these devices can be. A group of researchers made an app that can remotely control insulin pumps, potentially giving hackers the ability to hurt—and perhaps kill—patients. "We’ve essentially just created a universal remote for every one of these insulin pumps in the world," said one of the researchers in what’s truly a terrifying quote captured by Lily Hay Newman.
The Inside Story Of The World's Most Dangerous Malware
By: Blake Sobczak
In 2017, an oil refinery in Saudi Arabia was hit by what some described as the most dangerous malware ever used, which had the ability to interact with the plant’s safety systems, potentially causing physical damage and hurting people in the refinery. At the time, the identity of the victim, as well as many of the details of the attack, stayed out of the public’s view. In this long and well-sourced feature, E&E News’ Blake Sobczak revealed the name of the company hit by the malware, the oil giant Petro Rabigh, the people who investigated it, and how the hackers played cat-and-mouse with attempts to kick them out of the company’s network. This story wasn’t easy, as most of the people and organizations involved declined to talk to Sobczak on the record, as it usually happens in such high-profile cyberattacks.
How The U.S. Hacked ISIS
By: Dina Temple-Raston
It’s very rare for hackers who work for intelligence agencies—especially those fighting terrorists—to talk to journalists, given that their work is often classified. NPR veteran reporter Dina Temple-Raston somehow convinced several people who worked for the U.S. military on operations to hack ISIS to do just that. In this story, she reveals how the U.S. Cyber Command and the NSA identified and took down key infrastructure used by the terrorist organization at the height of its popularity—an absolute must-read.
The Cyber speaks: What will actually happen in 2020
By: Kelly Shortridge
As we approach the end of the year, cybersecurity companies—for some reason I can’t really fathom—rush to compile relatively vague, mostly meaningless predictions of what will happen in the hacking world. It’s a yearly tradition very few cherish. No one made fun of it in such a smart was as Kelly Shortride did in this article on Cyberscoop. Shortridde forced a bot to read more than 1,000 (!) cybersecurity predictions and then come up with its own predictions using machine learning. The results are simply hilarious. “Don’t be chilled by what you don’t know. You ain’t cybersecurity.” Amen, dear bot.
Ghost Ships, Crop Circles, And Soft Gold: A GPS Mystery In Shanghai
By: Mark Harris
This story has it all. How do you not want to read this after seeing that headline? Summarizing it may be spoiling it, so just trust us and read this bamboozle of a piece.
Tracking Phones, Google Is a Dragnet for the Police
By: Jennifer Valentino-DeVries
These two companion pieces are as shocking as well reported by veteran Jennifer Valentino-DeVries, someone who was writing about digital surveillance way before many cared about it. In this investigation, she reveals how investigators are using precise locations gathered by Google to track criminals all over America. These investigations relied on a giant, and previously unknown, Google database eerily called Sensorvault, which “turn the business of tracking cellphone users’ locations into a digital dragnet for law enforcement,” as the Times put it.
All The Incredible Ring Scoops All Over The Internet
By: Sam Biddle; Dell Cameron and Dhruv Mehrotra; Kari Paul; Alfred Ng
Ring, Amazon’s dystopian front-door camera surveillance startup, has really been one of the hottest stories of the year. It’s been thoroughly written about and meticulously dissected by so many journalists that it would be almost unfair to single out just one story. So we decided it’s better to name a bunch of them (and forgive us to remind you to read Motherboard own series by Caroline Eha):
Amazon’s Ring Planned Neighborhood “Watch Lists” Built On Facial Recognition
Ring’s Hidden Data Let Us Map Amazon's Sprawling Home Surveillance Network
Everything Cops Say About Amazon's Ring Is Scripted or Approved by Ring

Trump Imposes New US Sanctions on Iran, Including Supreme Leader
U.S. President Donald Trump imposed new U.S. sanctions on Iran on Monday following Tehran’s downing of an unmanned American drone and said the measures would target Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Trump told reporters he was signing an executive order for the sanctions amid tensions between the United States and Iran that have grown since May, when Washington ordered all countries to halt imports of Iranian oil.
Trump also said the sanctions would have been imposed regardless of the incident over the drone. He said the supreme leaders was ultimately responsible for what Trump called “the hostile conduct of the regime.”
“Sanctions imposed through the executive order … will deny the Supreme Leader and the Supreme Leader’s office, and those closely affiliated with him and the office, access to key financial resources and support,” Trump said.
The Trump administration wants to force Tehran to open talks on its nuclear and missile programs and its activities in the region.
Iran said on Monday U.S. cyber attacks on its military had failed, as Washington sought to rally support in the Middle East and Europe for a hardline stance that has brought it to the verge of conflict with its longtime foe.
Washington has blamed Tehran for attacks on tankers in the Gulf in recent weeks, which Iran denies. On Monday, the United States said it was building a coalition with allies to protect Gulf shipping lanes.
A coalition of nations would provide both material and financial contributions to the program, a senior U.S. State Department official said, without identifying the countries.
“It’s about proactive deterrence, because the Iranians just want to go out and do what they want to do and say hey we didn’t do it. We know what they’ve done,” the official told reporters, adding that the deterrents would include cameras, binoculars and ships.
The United States accuses Iran of encouraging allies in Yemen to attack Saudi targets.
In a joint statement on Monday, the United States, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Britain expressed concern over Middle East tensions and the dangers posed by Iranian “destabilizing activity” to peace and security in Yemen and the region.
FILE PHOTO: Iranian President Hassan Rouhani delivers a speech at the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) in Dushanbe, Tajikistan June 15, 2019. REUTERS/Mukhtar Kholdorbekov/File Photo
The confrontation between Iran and the United States heated up last Thursday when Iran shot down an American drone, saying it had flown over its air space.
Washington, which said the drone was in international skies, then appeared to come close to attacking Iranian military targets, with Trump saying that he aborted a retaliatory air strike 10 minutes before it was to go ahead.
Trump said he decided the strike, to punish Iran for shooting down the drone, would have killed too many people.
U.S. media have reported that Washington launched cyber attacks last week even as Trump called off his air strike. The Washington Post said on Saturday that the cyber strikes, which had been planned previously, had disabled Iranian rocket launch systems. U.S. officials have declined to comment.
FEARS OF WAR
Iran dismissed the cyber attacks as a failure.
“They try hard, but have not carried out a successful attack,” Mohammad Javad Azari Jahromi, Iran’s minister for information and communications technology, said on Twitter.
“Media asked if the claimed cyber attacks against Iran are true,” he said. “Last year we neutralized 33 million attacks with the (national) firewall.”
Allies of the United States have been calling for steps to defuse the crisis, saying they fear a small mistake by either side could trigger war.
“We are very concerned. We don’t think either side wants a war, but we are very concerned that we could get into an accidental war and we are doing everything we can to ratchet things down,” British Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt said.
U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo jetted to the Middle East to discuss Iran with the leaders of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, two Gulf Arab allies that favor a hard line. Pompeo met King Salman as well as the king’s son, de facto ruler Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
The U.S. special representative for Iran, Brian Hook, visited Oman and was headed to Europe to explain U.S. policy to allies. He told European reporters on a phone call ahead of his arrival that Trump was willing to sit down with Iran, but that Iran must do a deal before sanctions could be lifted.
CONCESSIONS
U.S.-Iran relations have deteriorated over the past year since the United States abandoned a 2015 agreement between Iran and world powers designed to curb Iran’s nuclear program in return for the lifting of sanctions.
U.S. allies in Europe and Asia view Trump’s decision to abandon the nuclear deal as a mistake that strengthens hardliners in Iran and weakens the pragmatic faction of President Hassan Rouhani.
France, Britain and Germany have sent an official diplomatic warning to Iran if Tehran reduces its compliance with the accord, two European diplomats said on Monday.
It was not immediately clear what consequences Iran might face for non-compliance.
Washington argues that the agreement known as the JCPOA, negotiated under Trump’s predecessor, President Barack Obama, did not go far enough, and new sanctions are needed to force Iran back to the table to make more concessions.
Both sides have suggested they are willing to hold talks while demanding the other side move first. In the latest comment from Tehran, an adviser to Rouhani repeated a longstanding demand that Washington lift sanctions before any talks.
But the adviser, Hesameddin Ashena, also tweeted a rare suggestion that Iran could be willing to discuss new concessions, if Washington were willing to put new incentives on the table that go beyond those in the deal.
“If they want something beyond the JCPOA, they should offer something beyond the JCPOA; with international guarantees.”

“Travel agencies help travellers by categorizing through vast amounts of information to help their clients make the best possible travel arrangements. Travel agencies offer advice on destinations and make arrangements for transportation, hotel accommodations, car rentals, and tours for their clients.
Tumblr media
“Travel agencies are expected to be able to advise travellers about their destinations, such as weather conditions, local regulations, customs, attractions, exhibitions, shows, etc. For international travellers, agents also provide information on customs regulations, required documents (passports, visas, and certificates of vaccination), travel advisories, and currency exchange rates. In the event of changes in the itinerary in the middle of a trip, travel agencies mediate on the traveller’s behalf to make alternate booking arrangements.”

POLITICO Playbook: RUBIO pulls emergency break on tax debate
THE INEVITABLE TURBULENCE — SEUNG MIN KIM, BRIAN FALER and COLIN WILHELM: “With GOP on the verge of a tax victory, Rubio throws in a wrench: The Florida senator is demanding a more generous child tax credit to win his vote”: “Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) has finally thrown down the gauntlet and is saying no — at least for now.
“In a surprise move Thursday, the Florida Republican announced that he will not support the landmark tax bill that faces its final stretch of negotiations and debate before it can be sent to President Donald Trump for his signature. After weeks of private maneuvering on the Senate’s tax bill and public tweeting about the legislation’s flaws, his statement casts some doubt on whether Republicans will successfully clear their tax bill in the Senate, particularly if absent senators and other undecided Republicans tip the final margin against the GOP. …
Story Continued Below
“‘I can’t in good conscience support it unless we are able to increase the refundable portion of it,’ Rubio told reporters on Thursday. ‘There’s a way to do it, and we’ll be very reasonable.’ … Rubio said he’s received no assurances his concerns will be addressed, though he said Trump alluded to them Wednesday in a speech. Asked of the likelihood of Republican leaders making changes to address his concerns, Rubio said, ‘We’re about to find out.’” http://politi.co/2ywL15T
— WHAT WE HEARD … NEWSY: The text of the bill was locked down last night, and it has moved in Rubio’s direction. We’ll see if it’s enough to sway the Florida Republican to support the bill. The package is likely to become public early this evening.
REMEMBER: This bill is scheduled for a vote in the early part of next week. House Republican negotiators are scheduled to sign the negotiated conference report today between 10 a.m. and noon. House Republicans have a conference call today to brief their lawmakers on the package.
— A NOTE ON PROCESS: If the House passes the tax bill first, we have been told it would limit Senate Democrats’ ability to slow the floor process down with motions to send the bill back to conference. There are also risks with the House going first — Democrats can raise points of order that could force changes to the bill. But if everything goes smoothly, this tax bill could be to the president’s desk by Wednesday. And then, Congress turns its attention to keeping the government open.

Good Friday morning. FAIR QUESTION, VLAD — NYT’S NEIL MACFARQUHAR and IVAN NECHEPURENKO in MOSCOW: “With an eye to his presidential candidacy, President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia promoted his domestic record throughout his annual national news conference on Thursday. But he did save a few jabs for the United States on election meddling and Olympic doping — at one point asking members of Congress, ‘Are you normal at all?’ …
“On North Korea, also known as the Democratic Republic of North Korea, Mr. Putin mocked Congress for condemning Russia while seeking its help. ‘You are interesting guys,’ the president said with a smirk. American lawmakers appear to be good-looking, well dressed and smart, he said, but they ‘are placing us on the same shelf with D.P.R.K. and Iran while simultaneously pushing Trump toward solving the North Korean and Iran nuclear problems through joint efforts with us. Are you normal at all?’” http://nyti.ms/2Bsn4Cn
— THE HUDDLE: “In phone call, Trump thanks Putin for praise, looks for help on North Korea,” by Henry C. Jackson: “President Donald Trump spoke by phone with President Vladimir Putin of Russia on Thursday, talking about how they can work together to resolve the situation involving North Korea’s nuclear program, the White House said. Trump also used the call to thank Putin for ‘acknowledging America’s strong economic performance in his annual press conference,’ according to a White House read out of the call.
“The leaders talked for about 10 minutes, and national security adviser H.R. McMaster didn’t participate in the call, a White House official said. The call offered fresh evidence that Trump will continue to work with Putin, in spite of potential political liabilities. Special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 election and potential ties to Trump’s campaign has cast a negative light on U.S.-Russia relations. Trump, though, has continued to view Putin as a potential ally, particularly when it comes to dealing with North Korea.” http://politi.co/2ktgXTI
ANOTHER LOOMING PROBLEM — “Health program for 9 million kids falls victim to partisan squabbling,” by Jen Haberkorn: “Everyone in Congress claims to be a champion of children’s health. But funding for the Children’s Health Insurance Program ran out Sept. 30. And some lawmakers worry it might not be replenished until early next year.
“It’s a mess that can happen only in Washington: Even a bipartisan program that covers 9 million poor and middle-class children is caught up in partisan squabbling, with Republicans and Democrats split over how to pay for renewed funding and placing blame on the other party. But with unified GOP control of the government, voters and the program’s enrollees — who are beginning to get notices that money could be running out — could hold Republicans responsible if the program remains in limbo.” http://politi.co/2AtIVWj
VIDEO OF THE DAY — BRUTAL — @SenWhitehouse: “MUST WATCH: Republican @SenJohnKennedy asks one of @realDonaldTrump’s US District Judge nominees basic questions of law & he can’t answer a single one. Hoo-boy.” http://bit.ly/2kvy8UA
— UH, WOW.
SPOTTED: Republican pollster — and close Kevin McCarthy pal — Frank Luntz having lunch with Rep. Tim Ryan (D-Ohio) yesterday afternoon at the National Democratic Club. Ryan ran against Nancy Pelosi for House Democratic leader.
GOOD TO KNOW — “White House: Trump would be ‘very unhappy’ if Speaker Ryan left,” by Nolan D. McCaskill: “‘The president did speak to the speaker not too long ago and made sure that the speaker knew very clearly — and in no uncertain terms — that if that news was true, he was very unhappy with it,’ Sanders said. ‘The speaker assured the president that those were not accurate reports and that they look forward to working together for a long time to come.’” http://politi.co/2AJRoZN
****** A message from the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates: The UAE and the US are partnering to create economic growth and jobs for people in both countries. For eight years in a row, the UAE has been the top market in the Middle East and North Africa for US exports. http://politi.co/2y8BB0m ******
FOGGY BOTTOM INTRIGUE — “Trump allies say Tillerson has ‘not learned his lesson’ and cannot continue in job for long,” by WaPo’s Josh Dawsey and Anne Gearan: “Secretary of State Rex Tillerson seemed focused this week on rebooting his image as a beleaguered Cabinet member on the outs with his boss and his own employees — holding a rare town hall with employees, promising foreign trips into 2018 and saying he is ‘learning’ to enjoy his job. But then he went off script by offering another invitation for diplomatic talks with nuclear-armed North Korea, putting him at odds once again with President Trump and senior White House officials, who are increasingly exasperated with the secretary of state and say he cannot remain in his job for the long term. …
“Tillerson, one White House official said, ‘had not learned his lesson from the last time,’ when Trump publicly rebuked his top diplomat on Twitter over the wisdom of talking to North Korea. A senior U.S. official said foreign diplomats and leaders often ask if Tillerson is speaking for the administration and when he will depart. Another White House aide said White House officials, diplomats and other Cabinet secretaries largely deem the former ExxonMobil chief executive ‘irrelevant.’” http://wapo.st/2Bq9Dml
FBI WATCH — “Senator: Comey’s remarks on Clinton probe heavily edited,” by AP’s Eric Tucker: “A draft statement former FBI Director James Comey prepared in anticipation of concluding the Hillary Clinton email case without criminal charges was heavily edited to change the ‘tone and substance’ of the remarks, a Republican senator said Thursday. Some of the edits proposed to the May 2016 draft, obtained by The Associated Press, appear to soften the gravity of the bureau’s findings. Comey, for instance, initially wrote that the FBI believed that Clinton and her aides were ‘grossly negligent’ in their handling of classified information, language also contained in the relevant criminal statute.
“But the text was edited to say they were simply ‘extremely careless’ in their use of a personal email server, a phrase Comey adopted for his July 5 public announcement that the FBI would not be recommending charges. Comey’s ultimate statement also omitted language asserting that the ‘sheer volume’ of information classified as secret at the time it was shared made it reasonable to believe that the former secretary of state and her aides were grossly negligent. In addition, while Comey initially said it was ‘reasonably likely’ that ‘hostile actors’ had gained access to Clinton’s email server, the text was edited to say that such an intrusion was ‘possible.’” http://bit.ly/2Cakk9i
— “Democrats want to know why Justice Department released FBI texts,” by Darren Samuelsohn: “Democrats pressed the Justice Department on Thursday to explain why it released salacious, anti-Donald Trump text messages exchanged between two FBI employees who are still under investigation for their work on the Russia special counsel investigation. Judiciary Committee ranking member Jerrold Nadler of New York and two other panel Democrats asked for a full review of DOJ’s decision making that led to Tuesday night’s release of about 375 texts that the FBI officials — Peter Strzok and Lisa Page — sent over a 15-month period during the 2016 presidential campaign. The Democratic lawmakers called Justice’s decision an ‘unusual move’ after the texts were given to Congress and a select group of reporters earlier this week.” http://politi.co/2kvu1Ia
RUSSIA DRIP DRIP — “Music promoter dangled possible Putin meeting for Trump during campaign,” by WaPo’s Ros Helderman and Tom Hamburger: “About a month after Donald Trump launched his presidential bid, a British music promoter suggested his Russian pop-star client could arrange for the new candidate to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to an email obtained by The Washington Post. The July 2015 offer by publicist Rob Goldstone came about a year before he set up a meeting for Trump’s eldest son with a Russian lawyer who he said had incriminating information about Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton. Goldstone’s overture came as he unsuccessfully urged Trump to travel to Moscow later that year to attend a birthday celebration for his client’s father. ‘Maybe he would welcome a meeting with President Putin,’ Goldstone wrote in a July 24, 2015, email to Trump’s longtime personal assistant, Rhona Graff.” http://wapo.st/2ywj4em
TRUMP’S FRIDAY — The president will attend the FBI National Academy graduation ceremony this afternoon in Quantico, Virginia. He will also go to the Marine Corps Air Facility where he will visit Marine Helicopter Squadron One before leaving for Camp David.
THANK YOU for all who joined us last night for a really fun inaugural Playbook Holiday party at the National Restaurant Association.

FOR YOUR RADAR — “UN official who visited Pyongyang sees ‘high risk’ of miscalculation,” by CNN’s Mick Krever and Joshua Berlinger: “A UN official who just returned from Pyongyang, where he spent several days speaking with North Korean officials, has said he is ‘really worried about an accidental move toward conflict.’ Jeffrey Feltman, an American who is the United Nations undersecretary-general for political affairs, told CNN’s Christiane Amanpour on Thursday that he is concerned about a ‘lack of communication’ and the ‘high risk of some kind of miscalculation.’” http://cnn.it/2zdillX
THE TICK TOCK — “Disney Agrees to Buy Key Parts of 21st Century Fox in $52.4 Billion Deal,” by WSJ’s Ben Fritz, Amol Sharma and Sarah Rabil: “21st Century Fox Executive Chairman Rupert Murdoch invited Walt Disney Co. Chief Executive Robert Iger to his winery in Los Angeles last month as the executives were trying to nail down a deal that would mark a turning point in both of their careers. After a lunch of chicken and salad, the executives opened a bottle of Chardonnay and walked through the vineyard to hash out terms under which Disney would buy Fox assets, people familiar with the discussions said. A few weeks later, as the talks reached the final stretch, the same property was threatened by a 422-acre brush fire that swept through the upscale Bel Air neighborhood. The winery survived, and so did the deal.” http://on.wsj.com/2zc79WM
— @gabrielsherman: “Trump spoke with Murdoch ahead of Disney deal to make sure Murdoch wasn’t selling Fox News, person briefed on the call said”. … @adrian_gray: “Trump favorability among Fox viewers (%): Jun: 90 … Oct: 74 … Dec: 58 (Suffolk)”. http://bit.ly/2zetHXa
KFILE — “Homeland Security senior adviser promoted birtherism, said Obama knew ‘nothing about the black American experience,’” by CNN’s Andrew Kaczynski, Chris Massie and Nathan McDermott: “A White House senior adviser at the Department of Homeland Security previously promoted conspiracy theories about former President Barack Obama’s birthplace, lamented the ‘Zimbabwe-fication of America,’ and mocked the LGBT community. Frank Wuco has served as the White House adviser to DHS since January and now leads a team tasked with helping to enforce President Donald Trump’s executive orders, including the administration’s travel ban.” http://cnn.it/2kw4fDN
****** A message from the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates: With trade in aviation, high tech, and defense, the UAE delivers a $19 billion trade surplus for the US. These exports support hundreds of thousands of American jobs. They also help the UAE diversify its economy. By working with the US, the UAE has become a center for innovation and opportunity in the Middle East. http://politi.co/2y8BB0m ******
SEXUAL HARASSMENT FILES — “Dozens Of Members Of Congress Sleep In Their Offices. In Light Of Harassment Allegations On Capitol Hill, Some Say That Needs To Change,” by BuzzFeed’s Lissandra Villa and Paul McLeod: “For members of Congress, living in their Capitol Hill offices has long been seen as a quirky display of frugality. But a handful of politicians are coming forward to say the practice is unprofessional and needs to end. Capitol Hill may be the only workplace in the nation where dozens of offices turn into the boss’s bedroom at a certain hour. … ‘I think it is unseemly. I’m not saying that these persons are engaged in sexual harassment. It is just wrong,’ California Rep. Jackie Speier told BuzzFeed News. ‘We should prohibit living in your offices, and we should allow members to deduct the cost of their living expenses here up to a certain amount.’” http://bzfd.it/2AL4Pso
