For just $25.00 Presenting this beautiful Oriental black laquerware musical jewelry box with inlaid abalone. Music box is a Sankyo that plays, Auld Lang Syne. Vintage 1940s. The inside features blue velvet lining, The outside features a black lacquer finish, with a hand-painted Japanese scene in pinks, blues, yellows, and greens. The top has a lovely abalone shell inlay. The box has two small pull out drawers on each side and three compartments in the top, one of which is a lidded box and the other is a tray that sits on top of the music mechanism. Issues include: The mirror is intact but poor shape ( needs re silvered). The lid is a bit loose and the ribbon that holds the lid upright has come loose from the base. Outside top edging has some paint flaking/ chiping. No key. Also inside needs a good cleaning. Price has reflected condition.
