hello dear codex of numinous
below these fair uncapitalized lines are podcast-related screams:
HOLY SHIT NEW CLINICAL SPACE OUT!!
okay that was less screams than expected but!! im excited!!! very!! <- continues to avoid starting the episode lol
Hello dear ivy of cryptid
Yes!! (I actually just saw the tumblr post for it before receiving this ask)
I still need to finish the 3rd episode (left off due to lack of earbud), but once I finish that + this new one I will be ALL UP TO DATE and - potentially - able to collaborate with you on your (digital) corkboard?
#I found an earbud in a drawer earlier and it ~sort of works so I may be able to listen to them tonight! Hopefully#ASK109#PHI114#POD411

personally I don't think if you're a kid you should be using your real name on the internet. very easy for people to find out too much about you. instead you should spend years using a different made-up name that becomes part of your persona to an arguably even greater degree than your actual name and then when you grow up and find out you're trans you have a ready-made name to switch to even if it's probably like Leaf or something

hey codex! found a new podcast entirely by accident!
It's called clinical space, and it follows a starship therapist! really new only three episodes, I'm surprised I'm early to something for once
started and thought 'oh hey codex might like this' so uh, here i am!
Hello Ivy! Would you believe that I found Clinical Space a little while ago and thought 'oh! Ivy might like this' and then forgot to recommend it to you?
So: thank you for the recommendation! And, ah - right back at you!
#I saw someone describe it as being similiar to star trek and thought of you#Then - unfortunately - the thought flew straight out of my head#In all seriousness thank you for thinking of me!#ASK109#PHI114#POD411

have you perhaps heard of @/aussieaspecforces?
it’s a really cool collaborative blog for Australian aspecs (we’ve also got a discord) and I was wondering if you might want to check it out?
Oh! Yes! It seems cool! I had seen it but I wasn't quite sure - I can certainly check it out! I'm not quite sure what you mean, exactly, Though?

i'm attempting an Aja Graves design (slowly). and. how old?? are they?? do you think I'm vaguely thinking just past mid (or maybe. maybe early) thirties? but I'm not sure At All
Good question! I hadn't really thought about it that much, but I feel like mid-to-early thirties would make sense. They don't seem that old? But they definitely don't seem super young either, so ?
#Sorry I don't really have much of an answer - age isn't something I think that much about#But this was interesting to consider!#You could always ask the creator? They'd probably have an answer#ASK109#PHI114#POD411

hello! speaking (reblogging? /silly) of ds9, how's that goin? i presume you've seen garak now? considering your tags.
It's going - good? I haven't got any farther yet (I've been finishing wolf 359) but I am almost all done with that, and ds9 is next. I am going to Commit.
So - I haven't yet met garak, but if you say he should get pregnant, I trust you.
#Sorry for the disappointing answer#I will be resuming my watch soon!#And don't worry - when I do you will be the first to hear#ASK109#PHI114

What's your favorite character? Could be anyone: oc, movie, book, music, etc.
Hmm, good question! I might come back to this if I think of a better one, but I'm really quite fond of Carpenter, from the podcast The Silt Verses. She's old and grumpy and terrifying (and aroace!), and I think she's pretty neat.
What about you?

trick or treat! :D
Hmm... you get a linguistic fun fact! The word "deor" - a precursor to the modern "deer" - was originally used to refer to any wild animal, before it became a specific term of use for cervids.

howdy codex! fellow mechs fan you know what weird show from 1993 has mechanisms vibes?
star trek deep space nine!
this is totally not propaganda for you to join me in the hyperfixation your dear mutual
Hello Ivy!
I might check it out - I don't watch that much television + I'm currently trying to make my way through the Owl House, but I'll keep it in mind! It does seem very interesting, and it might be nice to finally watch a Star Trek show, after learning a lot about them from general fandom osmosis.
In return, I will give you two recommendations - a music artist, Paul Shapera, who makes full concept albums for stories set in the bizarre city of New Albion - and a podcast, Wolf 359 (I know you've said that other people have already recommended this, so here I am seconding those recommendations.). Look. It's about the crew of a space station, and the name ends in a 9! If you listen to this, you could make some of those two nickels jokes. Jokes aside, it's a very good podcast, and I feel like you would like it.
Anyway - I'll tell you if I get into DS9, and you have to tell me if you enjoy either of my recommendations!

Thoughts on Eyes
I'm a fan! I think it would be nice if they could see more colours but in general they're pretty good. There are of course a lot of problems that come up around them but I'm lucky enough not to have experienced any of those yet, so.
#Did you know that apparently most if not all astronauts develop short-sightedness due to the effects of reduced gravity on their eyes?#ASK109/WHI154#PHI114
