Grayson stood to the side of the growing crowd, head tilted slightly as he tried to make sense of it all. "Wait, so they're willingly paying american dollars to try to throw that ball as hard as they can to get that poor sop into the tank?" Grayson asked the person beside him. His arms were folded together as he watched person after person paying to throw and missing the target horribly. "Do we even know who's in the tank?" Grayson questioned once more, before a mischievous glint settled in his eyes. "I'll bet you $20 that I can hit the target." He felt confident enough that he wouldn't miss, considering he had to use precision for most tasks on the boat. "You in?"

FOR: everyone @helltownhqstarters
"here, looks like you need it more than i do." there's really no solid news yet of what really had went down at the summer solstice, but it seemed enough for antoinette to conclude to herself that whatever may have happened, it was a sight nobody deserved to see. she knew that there was always something strange in this town, a place she grew up in, but as of late, the dancer knew it was more than just the feeling that engulfed this place. she moved close, cautiously to sit beside the other person. "anything i can do? keep the drinks coming, or something else? just tell me what you need, babe. i got you."

people who claimed to finish crossword puzzles in ten minutes or less were full of shit. jude would end up staring at a set of empty boxes for ten minutes alone before her pen would even ink the first letter. either those people were cheating or they’d managed to memorize the entirety of the thesaurus — the dictionary too. she wasn’t sure why she did them, to waste time mostly, but more often than not the margins would be decorated with flowers, smiley faces, and the occasional ‘superman s’ instead of an actual answer. this time around, she’d gotten relatively far along. just a few words left. prying her lips from the straw she'd been absentmindedly gnawing at ( how ladylike ), she sat back and straightened out. god forbid she hunch, could even hear her mother's grating voice barking at her in her head 'shoulders back, chin up, tits out' ... granted she only ever abided by the two formers, never the latter. each heavy blink rid her vision of the checkered boxes, but she couldn't accept defeat just yet. wouldn't dare. “ hey, ” she eventually chirped, an attempt to address whoever happened to be within earshot. “ you wouldn't happen to know a word for ‘a gathering of crows’ would you ? ” pen tapped along the corresponding spaces, “ six letters. ”

WHO: Open to Anyone
WHERE: Rosie's Diner
WHEN: March 6th / a little after 6pm
To look at him now, it's almost difficult to imagine that there was a time when Beau Clary had the infectious sort of charisma that could engage an entire room. Hell, an entire stadium, at least once a week for a good chunk of the year for nearly all of his life. He's almost a shell of that man now ― at least in mind and spirit, if not in body. It's almost comical, actually, for someone so physically imposing to hold himself so small ; a hardened pebble in the sole of the Wexley, jammed into the grooves. Out of sight, out of mind. To his credit, he's done a commendable job at convincing himself he prefers it this way anymore.
But he's been lured out of the quiet lonely isolation of his apartment under a moral obligation to appease the kind hand that feeds and now ― now ― Beau stands in the middle of Rosie's Diner looking a bit like a deer in headlights. He feels a bit foolish, really ― it's not as if he doesn't know these people, even if he doesn't really know them, but he feels awkward and bumbling, like a perfect stranger stumbling into a family reunion. In spite of the fact that he doesn't really know where to go, he feels inclined to get out of the way, so he locks his gaze on the nearest empty chair and quickly makes his way over.
Looking up a bit sheepishly once he's seated, Beau clears his throat. ❝ Hi. Oh, hell, Ihis, um ― I'm sorry, this seat weren't taken, were it? ❞

"i never quite realised just how much these events drag on when one does not dance," or had been vehemently warned against doing so by several of the top medical men in the country, but that was merely semantics. "i fear i have only the loss of one more card game in me before i must retire from cards entirely out of shame." adolphus continued to no one in particular, downing the remnants of his glass in one swift movement before finally turning to the person nearest with a smile. "i pray your luck is better than mine this evening? in whatever pursuit."

"i'm just saying, if no one wanted us to come in here... they would've done a better job of locking the place up." kai spoke, head tilting to the side a bit before he bent down and started to search through some cabinets. the abandoned looking home seeming to still have some untouched items. although, some of it looked like it was barley hanging on. "jackpot!" the male yelled out, standing back up with a bottle of alcohol in his hand and a couple glasses. blowing inside the glasses to try and get the dust out, it came back up and smacked him in the face. a cough following before he set the glasses down on the counter. "it's good for the immune system." he nodded, beginning to pour the liquor into the glass. "you think they got any cheese around this place? bag of shredded parmesan? could be a cute little makeshift wine and cheese type situation." the male commented, his words drenched in sarcasm. "and they say i'm not romantic." he laughed, handing one of the glasses over.

when the rain started pouring, most of the people by the beach started to seek shelter. however, eleanor did no such thing as she simply stood from where she was seated on the sand. instead of leaving the shore, she embraced the downpour and began to twirl, her laughter mingling with the rhythm of the falling rain. catching the gaze of an onlooker, she called out to them over the sound of the pouring rain, " you're not scared of a little rain, are you? where: at a hardware store (cuz ya know christmas decorations)
"You think it's too early to decorate for Christmas?" Sage asked as she picked up a box for one of those inflatable Christmas decorations-- it was a giant avocado wearing sunglasses and a Santa Claus hat. "Actually, new question because I'm going to decorate today no matter what you say. Do you think this would fit on my balcony at Ocean Crest?"

Wanting to get out of the house for a bit after the devasting news of Maya and Rhys, Junho figured the newly opened ice cream shop would be a nice change of pace for a moment, stepping in line before he went ahead and asked the employee for a sample of his favorite, giving it a try before ordering a large cup. Hearing a sound from the person next to him, Jun tilted his head, eyebrows raising as he spoke. “What? Don’t tell me you have something against mint chocolate chip?”

Time didn't seem relatively real anymore for the chef. Between finishing up her culinary classes, speeding through her shifts at the cafe, running inventory for said cafe', keeping up with her social circle, to say the least, Juliette should have slowed her roll. But instead, she was marching to the farm market with a mission. Her mind had been plagued with dreams of pureed herbs and vegetables, ones that she promised herself she'd recreate just to see if it could be more than just a thought. She'd been perusing one of the stalls with the produce when out of the blue, an entire stack of eggplants had collapsed right beside her. Spinning around in disbelief, she awkwardly waved, "Nothing to see here! Just eggplants defying gravity."

what was the saying — music on, world off ? certainly applied to iris. the girl was in a trance, fully encompassed by the ‘smooth’ sounds of 100 gecs frying her eardrums. one notch up and crimson would’ve no doubt dripped from her ears. a grimace contoured her features as soon as her playlist shuffled. who the hell snuck ‘sail’ by awolnation into her rotation ? before she could even hit next, the wheels of her rollerskates swept up from beneath her. blunt force caused her body to stumble back. looked like something out of a cartoon, had it been, a giant text would’ve appeared in a decorative bubble … ‘ boing ! ’ headphones lay beside her, the obnoxious beat blaring. perhaps the song was a warning sign ? should’ve listened. instead, she accepted defeat, laid there and took a gander at the sky. “ s’nice day — huh ? ” head tilted as she squinted, trying to catch a better glimpse without mutilating her pupils. “ is it just me or does that cloud look like billy the puppet ? ” wasn’t her first time falling and it certainly wouldn’t be her last. “ y’think you could spare me a hand ? ” she extended an arm out, fingers splayed, and offered a lax grin.
