[KPop Review] Han HeeJung - “Reconstruction”

To comment on her latest release, singer Han HeeJung stated: "I will not sing anymore."

I hope that's not true!

I love Han HeeJung's voice. She's one of the first artists that got me into the Korean indie scene. The EP "Reconstruction" or "재구성," released on August 20th, is a little strange. Some songs from her earlier release of this year, "Two Me" or "두 개의 나," have a similar vibe to this new release, which only makes me wonder if she's being serious about not singing anymore.

Both songs in this album are almost identical with the difference being part one contains Han HeeJung's playful vocals filling in for the strings that are incorporated in part two. Han HeeJung also did not record any vocals in June's single "Cabbage Juice" or "양배추즙."

Maybe she is getting tired of singing and plans on expressing her soul through the release of playful tunes or melodies. I guess we will have to wait for future releases to see if she uses her voice again.
