Какая основная мечта у Пола?

Жизнь в любимой стране с любимой девушкой – настоящий рай. Именно этого хочет Пол.
С самого детства Коннолли был патриотом. Он безмерно обожал и до сих пор обожает родную Ирландию, её кухню, историю и культуру. От того Пол и жаждет объехать всю страну, исследовав особенности каждого населённого пункта Ирландии. Ведь везде есть свои обычаи, мифы, легенды и узоры. Даже рецепт рагу в Дублине может отличаться от рецепта этого блюда в Лимерике. Узнав всё это, Пол бы смог издать книгу о своей родине. Однако ему совсем не хочется делать это в одиночку.
В идеальной жизни вечной компаньонкой и соавторкой книги Коннолли стала бы Агнес. Пол любит её и, как и многие жертвы этого чувства, желает быть с той, что живёт в его сердце. Может показаться, что такой тандем невозможен. Ну какая пара из асексуалки и мужчины, который ведёт активную половую жизнь? При таком раскладе Пола даже можно заподозрить в желании изменить любимую в угоду себе. Однако Коннолли даже в самых смелых мечтах не хотел бы, чтобы Агнес была другой. Его устраивают платонические отношения с ней. Танцы под музыку, которая нравится им обоим, просмотр документальных фильмов, игры на логику и эрудицию, ну и, конечно же, разговоры до поздней ночи, порой чересчур заумные, были бы отличным времяпрепровождением Пола с Агнес. Ну а интимную жизнь он может вести и с другими девушками. Всё-таки для Коннолли это обычное дело.
Кроме любимых страны и девушки, в идеальной жизни Пола есть место и интересной работе. Речь идёт не только об исследованиях Ирландии и писательстве, но и о преподавательской деятельности. Пол хотел бы обучать подростков и взрослых истории онлайн. Всё-таки работать непосредственно в университете сложно, когда чуть ли не каждую неделю меняешь место жительства. Возможно, он бы проводил оффлайн-лекции, но только иногда и только в качестве приглашённого учёного-историка.
Такая жизнь и является основной мечтой Пола. Она может показаться во многом нереалистичной. Но кто знает, как распорядится Судьба?
