Appreciation Post: Jessel Taank
Tumblr media
While Brynn Whitfield had a breakthrough with the fans from the first moment, the appreciation for Jessel Taank was more like a slow burn.
But boy, did she shine brighter than the rest of the women at the end of the season.
Brynn, Erin Lichy and Sai De Silva had strong openings, while Jessel was quickly getting on my nerves, like her million complaints in the Hamptons.
However, it was at her lunch with Erin where everything shifted for me. The “Tribeca is up and coming” lunch.
That lunch reminded me of the good old days of Real Housewives. Nene Leakes and Shereé Whitfield. Bethenny Frankel and Kelly Bensimon.
And she didn’t disappoint from that moment on.
The women might not have noticed it. Maybe they didn’t think that the fans would like her.
She’s clueless with her rudeness and as longwinded as Dorit Kemsley.
She’s keeping a list on her phone of all her complaints about the other women.
She had two erratic twin boys and a supposedly sexless marriage, that became a huge topic within the group.
She also had an interesting lunch with Sai as well. She arrived 40 minutes late with no warning. That also reminded me of Dorit.
After their trip to Anguilla, she tried to connect with the women, and Erin and especially Sai were dismissive and ridiculing her stories.
That’s what I mean when it seems like the women didn’t think that we were going to like Jessel.
They tried to ridicule her every chance they got.
But as the season progressed, the ones with the strong openings became bleaker and bleaker, as my fascination for Jessel and Jenna Lyons became stronger and stronger.
Jessel is just fascinating.
There are some housewives that you just love watch. Everything from their manners, their antics, and their opinions just entertain me.
And Jessel is one of those housewives.
Like when she and her husband Pavit Randhawa were looking at kinder gardens for their twin boys:
“Tom Cruise sent his kid here. You could rub shoulders with that!”
Priceless scene.
Jessel is the star of RHONY.

There's Icy Frigid Air in New York City
Tumblr media
Before the reunion even started, Ubah Hassan had sent the women mean texts.
And when the reunion started, it was painfully obvious she was in a bad mood.
She was hot and cold. She was bringing chaotic justice energy to the reunion, and she misfired a couple of times.
She was coming in hot by throwing jabs at Jenna Lyons and Erin Lichy. Later it seemed like she “misspoke” about her criticism of Jenna.
But Erin? She was called a shit stirrer and a gaslighter.
She also accused Erin and Sai De Silva of not wanting to have Jenna on the show…?!
When Andy Cohen asked the women if they had met Mr. Connecticut, they all gave rave reviews.
But hadn’t Ubah strictly forbidden them of speaking about him?
After the big blow up at Brynn Whitfield’s birthday party, Brynn and Sai hadn’t spoken to each other.
Sai admitted that she took out the anger at herself for breaking Ubah’s trust on Brynn.
But blaming her for 6 months is cruel.
The fact that Sai has been punishing Brynn for months, and Brynn has tried to apologize for months, for Sai to sit at the reunion couch and claim that they’re fine, speaks volume to how cold she is.
It’s off-putting. Why would Brynn want to be friend with someone who treats her that way? I’m on Team Brynn on this one.
Speaking of teams; I’m on team Jessel Taank!
I was so surprised when Andy asked if she had moved to New York for an opportunity to be on the show.
It felt accusatory, it was shady, and quiet honestly, Bravo should be happy to have her.
She made this show so enjoyable. Way more than Sai, way more than Erin. How dare he not be grateful to have her on the cast?
She confronted Erin and Sai about them implying that Pavit Randhawa was cheating on her, which they denied, but they’re full of shit.
Sai continued to trash Jessel’s marriage but then said she shouldn’t speak about other’s relationship.
She’s so self-righteous and mean, it’s so unlikable.

Pivoting the Story About Pavit
Tumblr media
Brynn Whitfield is convinced that Jessel Taank is uncapable of sticking up for herself against Sai De Silva, but I think she manages quiet well.
She definitely seems to bother Sai with minimal effort. Who lost their temper? Who walked away from the situation? Sai.
And I’m a little confused by what Brynn wants Jessel to do.
Does she want Jessel to get up in Sai’s face? Does she want Jessel to scream and shout at her?
I understand that it’s difficult to lose your mother.
Jenna Lyons told Jessel that it would be understandable if Sai was offended by Jessel’s “comparison”.
And while Jessel’s lunch with Sai didn’t go as planned, the gossip that Sai and Erin Lichy were doing after it was… mean.
They insinuated that Jessel’s husband Pavit Randhawa was going to Vietnam for other reasons than some flight points and a sandwich.
Sai even said that a lot could happen in 24 hours, “Can’t it, Pavit?”.
I’m not going to lie: It is strange that Pavit wants to go to Vietnam for 24 hours, but Pavit appears to be a strange guy. A little geeky.
I don’t get the vibe that he’s sneaking around on Jessel.
I believe that they’re genuinely in a dry spell, and they’re exhausted by their twin boys.
After Erin and Sai were gossiping about Jessel and Pavit, it almost felt like the couple night was a setup.
They threw themselves at Jessel and Pavit!
They wanted their husbands to get some details from Pavit about their staycation as they didn’t believe Jessel’s story about them having sex again.
It was bizarre to watch. When you tie it all together it doesn’t seem like they’re poking fun in light-heartedness.
It reminds me of high school mean girls.
Brynn and Jenna visited Jessel after the couple’s night – and they were shocked by Pavit’s comment about Sai. He called her bipolar!
While Jessel and Pavit appears to be extremely snarky when you don’t expect them to be, he was out of line for that comment.
Sai is not bipolar, but she’s definitely a bitch.

Nothing Compares 2 Sai
Tumblr media
If you don’t like someone, you just won’t like them. And that’s how it seems to be with Sai De Silva and Jessel Taank.
No matter what Jessel says or does, it appears to get on Sai’s nerves.
Well, she did come 40 minutes late to the lunch Sai didn’t want to go to in the first place.
I thought a lunch would be the perfect place for them to meet, since Sai is always complaining about the lack of food at every event.
And the way Sai was screaming at Jessel and ridiculing her family’s background and struggles, no wonder Jessel wanted to clear the air and find some common ground.
I understand that nothing can compare to the loss of your mother.
It’s understandable that to Sai this was like comparing apples and oranges.
But I don’t understand why Sai had to be so cruel about it.
While Sai claims to be a straight shooter, it comes across as straight meanness.
Jessel wants Sai’s approval, and she’s not going to get it.
For every episode I watch, it becomes more difficult for me to like Sai.
Especially when Sai is talking with Erin Lichy. Everything gets twisted and turned into something negative.
In their opinion Jessel is trying to compare herself with Sai’s struggles. It seems like it’s Sai and Erin who is comparing Jessel’s story to Sai’s story.
If Jessel had 20 dollars in her bank account, Sai had -400 dollars in her account.
Like Ubah Hassan said: Who cares? You were broke.
Erin and Sai went on a double date where they had some interesting conversations, like threesomes or become swingers to spice up the sex life.
They were also discussing the dry spell that Jessel and Pavit Randhawa was going through. 1,5 years without sex. How dreadful.
If that was Erin and Abe Lichy, Abe said that he would be fucking other women… Yikes.
However, they are interesting. There are things I like about Erin, but she’s a shit talker.
And when she gets together with Sai it becomes unlikable. They become a two-headed monster.

Birds of a Feather Fights Together
Tumblr media
The season has come full circle: It started with Brynn Whitfield stirring the pot, and it ended with her stirring the pot.
Brynn walked in Central Park in search of the perfect tree for the memorial of her late grandmother – and it was a touching scene.
There are so many interesting sides to Brynn.
She likes to hug trees. She collects old books. She has a crush on Jenna Lyons, but then again, who doesn’t?
I’m intrigued by her.
Even if she started this season strong, faded to the background, was missing as she tested positive for covid, only to have her birthday party as the season finale.
And who knew how much feelings and chaos the word “Connecticut” could ignite?
At the couple’s night they talked about why Ubah Hassan was single. What very few knew was that Ubah was secretly dating someone special.
Sai De Silva knew, and she told Erin Lichy.
Later, after filming, Sai and Erin went out with Brynn where they talked more about Ubah’s mystery man.
Brynn defended herself by claiming that Sai said it in front of the camera, while Sai was screaming that it wasn’t.
Ubah was furious and the party ended very abruptly.
I didn’t see the season finale ended with Brynn as the bad guy.
It was moving in the direction that Jessel Taank and Pavit Randhawa were going to be the baddies.
Pavit’s cruel comment about Sai being bipolar and a bitch certainly didn’t look good.
But, apart from that, I quiet enjoy the shadiness of Jessel and Pavit.
We’ve learned that Jessel likes to shade her friends with a British twist and sting, but Pavit is perhaps doing more damage than his wife.
Jessel is calling Erin a pet parrot who has no brain and repeats whatever Sai says. Which inspired the outfit for Brynn’s birthday party.
Instead of taking it in the wrong direction, they made it something to laugh about. That gave me hope for their friendship into season 15.
It seemed worse with Brynn and Sai, as Sai wants nothing to do with her anymore.
