It had to have been a hell of a fight, and Peggy didn't know who Dottie had a run in with, but whoever it was had to really be somebody to have a leg up on her. It was some twist of fate that she had found her taking a shortcut back to the Griffith. By then she already knew that Dottie was bad news, but Peggy wasn't the type of person to leave anybody bleeding out in an alleyway, regardless of who it was. So she scooped her up and carried her back, managing to avoid Mrs. Fry and any of the girls on her way back up to her apartment. Once inside, she laid the unconscious woman out on the bed and undressed her enough to see the full extent of the damage. It looked awful. She got the bleeding to stop and stitched her up, dressing her in a nightgown and just hoping that she'd wake up.
