Sofia Kourtesis returns to the fray alongside Manu Chao with a song dedicated to her mother, the composer Pepa Päivinen and percussionist Jussi Miettola recount the Finnish Civil War, La Roche fashions street-level sonic vignettes from the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Pan Daijing turns her Tanks at Tate Modern suite Tissues into an hour-long howl. Tracks by Boris, Jana Horn, Open Question, Jenny Hval, and Nilüfer Yanya also feature in the best of the week's music.
