Peugeot 104 ZS2 (1 of 1.000)
Peugeot prepared a version of the small 104 similar to the one that the Peugeot 205 Rallye and Peugeot 106 Rallye had. The technicians eliminated everything superfluous, that which did not serve to drive and that added weight. For its creation, the 104 ZS was started, a semi-sports version that had two versions: one with 66 CV and the other with 80 CV. For the homologation, many changes were made and among the most outstanding was the engine, which became having 1,364 cubic centimeters with two Solex C35 PHH E8 double-body carburettors, which allowed to announce 93 CV at 5,800 rpm and 123 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm. It may not seem like much, but let me remind you of its weight: 770 kg. Under the name of Peugeot 104 ZS 2, with that horsepower and that tare, it promised a sprint from a standstill in 10.5 seconds and a top speed of 174 km/h. The Peugeot 104 ZS 2 was only in production for one year, during which it was the most powerful and fastest car from the French company. It also turned out to be a rather expensive car, not in vain, it was a racing car with permission to drive on public roads. It also boasted some A, il wheels. 13-inch, a body with slightly widened wheel arches and sportier seats with headrests (in those years they were optional).
