Daniel and Cyrus Before the Idol Bel
Fabulously sumptuous oil-on-copper on a Biblical theme showing Daniel and Cyrus before the Idol Bel, by Polish baroque artist Bartholomaus Strobel (1591-after 1650), dating from c.1636-1637. The painting is thought to be an allegory on religious schisms prevalent at the time.
