so... some people on tiktok have been making sibling swap stuff, except a lot of them feel like either color palette swaps/miss the entire points of these characters so I decided to make my own because I was being autistic about it. so now I have an entire au :3c

What if twilight never managed to unswap their cutie marks? What if they adapt?

Personally, I don't think they'd change their personalities much, and they certainly don't have to swap jobs with each other. Your cutie mark is what you make it to be! Though, I do think it would impact them, of course. SO pardon the simple doodles, but I've been thinking about this for a while now! I'll leave my headcanons under the cut!

APPLE JACK - Rarity's cutie mark represents her inspiration and creativity, not that she can sew! Apple Jack would still very much work the farm, still living with her family! She just now has a new hobby. She now does sculptures from dead tree's wood and incorporates gemstones into them. And they are GIANT. Her main method for carving is bucking off pieces. She cut her hair shorter because she was tired of having so many splinters and debris getting caught in her hair all the time (and just cus I think it's cute!)

FLUTTERSHY - Pinkie's cutie mark represents her talent for entertaining and making people happy! I don't know how much Flutter's cutie mark impacts on her connection to animals, but I do think she'd have to pivot on her profession a lot. It's shown in the Halloween episode (season 5) that Flutters draws anime, so I think she'd get joy out of entertaining through stories! So she can still cause joy, but doesn't have to leave her home all that much. Put a pencil in her hair just cus, and we know she likes to wear her hair up from her finale design so.

Rarity - RD's talent is... going fast ig, and like,,, trying your best? idk. But in the swap ep, we see that Rarity now has weather magic, which presumably, she didn't have before. Rarity still sews, but she sees an old love of her calling: theater! She now has this ability to control weather that does not involve physical connection to the elements, so she goes into theater tech work to make the experience more immersive. She ties her hair just for the aesthetics~

PINKIE - Aj's cutie mark represents her connection to her family. I think Pinkie would connect to the "rock" aspect of her family much more. She bakes as a hobby already, and we know she makes rock candy with Maud, so now she dives head into rock candy making. And since the Apples are her family as well, her most perfected recipe is apple flavored (and shaped;) rock candy. I put a rock candy hair tie on her hair just because it is cute :3

RAINBOW DASH - Flutter's cutie mark represents her connection to animals and her ability to deal with them. That wouldn't dampen RD's sense of adventure though! So she decides to use this new animal connection to help them out while still getting her fair share of adventure! So I thought: firefighter! With a specialty in animal rescue here. For funsies I drew her in her uniform, but aside from maybe getting her hair cut, RD wouldn't change her appearance that much.

when Darry gets pissed off at one of them he makes them go out n sit on the back step (essentially time out. but. he can't call it that cause he's got a house full of teenagers n they'd throw fits to rival any kid. but. its time out.) but on days where they're all Actin Like They Have No Goddamn Sense the back step rapidly devolves into a rotatin door of whoever is pissin Darry off the most.

Finally did some more sibling swap designs, this time it's the old and new cutie mark crusaders (and Big Mac)!

I have a lot of thoughts for these guys so for context, and starting with Sweetie Belle and Rarity:

Sweetie Belle is a singer in this au, she dreams of being a famous performer but for now she's only known and loved locally by the ponies of Ponyville. She's very down to earth and loves sharing her song with ponies. On the side she owns Carousel Choir, a music school and as the name implies, a choir. She's the primary caregiver for her little sister, Rariy, who loves all things fancy. Rarity wants to be somepony glamorous and well known like her sister, but has too many interests and can never pick one. She feels embarrassed to be one of the last of her peers to get a cutie mark and feels its not fair for somepony like her to not have a special talent as beautiful as her.

Now for Scootaloo and Rainbow Dash:

I had the thought of Scootaloo, because she's disabled and can't fly, becoming essentially the pony equivalent of a race car driver, she's a nascar girly. She has a need for speed as a filly But was bullied for having tiny wings, so after moving to Ponyville she found other means of achieving her dreams. Rainbow Dash on the other hand got into an accident during flight school, leaving her wings permanently damaged and her being unable to fly. Rainbow Dash, who dreamed of joining the wonderbolts one day, was devasted as this meant she'd never be able to live her dream. That is until she learns about Scootaloo after attending a race with her parents, and thus started her fierce admiration for Scootaloo and a new dream blossomed.

And finally, the Apple Family:

So to explain, Apple Bloom was swapped with Big Mac, so she's now the eldest sibling, Big Mac is now the middle child being swapped with Apple Jack, and finally AJ is of course, the youngest. Apple Bloom is hardworking and kind, making sure her siblings are all looked after and aren't causing any trouble or overworking themselves. She's protective of Apple Jack, especially after she learns how AJ was being bullied by her peers at school for still being a blank flank. Big Mac is now the element of Honesty, and part of the mane 6. He's still very quiet and shy, but takes on an older brother role with his friends. Apple Jack is simply a little guy, she loves helping out on the farm and is incredibly brave and independent.
