I'm just curious.. How do the puppets get fevers or the flu? I mean they are yknow wood?
Hiya, Annon.
Umm I can't exactly answer that question since I have no idea how does that actually work as well.
Thankfully, Riles volunteer to ask...or rather demanded that she gets that ask.
All in the name of science, I suppose
Take it from here, Riles.
"Hello, Annon Host! This is Riley Anne Ruckus speaking.
I've heard that you are wondering how us puppets are able to get sick and get things like fevers and such when we do not have the same genetics compounds as hosts are. Allow me to explain how is that possible
And to throw this out of the way....
No. This is not related to any form of termites or any host vermin. That is considered highly offensive for wooden puppets like myself and my dear handeemen"
Umm Riley, hon. I don't think they thought termites would cause fever. That is not probable...
"I am clarifying for the hosts who have that doubt, Amy!"
Sorry, please do go on
"As I was saying, puppets are not genetically composed of the same genetic materials as hosts do with their meat and bones things. Us puppets are created with the materials we evolve. This is a private theory that I am working on to prove puppet evolution, but I'll love to share this portion of it which is related to your ask, host Annon, as long as you're not as skeptical as my lab ra-"
Riley!
"Father... Ejem. According to my theory of evolution, us puppets undergo through a process that is essential to our survival. Mortimer and I are working in figuring out how does exactly that process work since it's related to our link of hosts and puppet magic.
The closest thing that I can see to narrow it down to your host brain would be what's breathing is to hosts.
Just like hosts, puppets are vulnerable to the basic needs of a living organism. I believe that we have developed a system that is similar to the one of a host that allow us to have process for those needs.
Long before the lab- Father and Amy arrived to the studio, I was doing surgery on puppets to test variables and get to the bottom of how we function. Results were inconclusive as the experiment failed, and we cannot further our research because apparently doing puppet surgery is a "Big No No, Riley." so that aspect of my theory is still in progress."
She's still a bit bitter about that, annon.
"LIKE I was saying....
Puppets and hosts have a similar system inside us that allow us to make processes related to our needs of survivals. Sadly, because nature is a cruel mistress as part of our evolution, just like any living organism we are able to get sick or transfer bacteria and certain types of viruses that tend to affect hosts as well.
We are immune to certain viruses and illness for quite obvious reasons (and our genetics being differently), but we share the same vulnerability to a particular extent. Thankfully, puppet have a rather advance defense system that allows to kill the viruses quickly and makes us feel better.
That was a fascinating discovery when I used Nick Nack as my testing lab rat to investigate about the flue by challenging him to a cold resistant game"
YOU WHAT?!
"It did take a couple of trials to get the sufficient data, but I am proud to say that it was a worthy sacrifice of using the clown for my research"
Riley that's not a nice thing to do!
At least it proved my point. Mortimer was onboard with this and he helped me take notes!"
Sigh....I...I'm goin' to talk to Owen 'about this...
"Anyways, that was a tiny victory for my long going research.
Thank you for asking, annon host, and I do hope you were blown away by science."
-Riley Anne Ruckus
OOC/Phantom: This is actually something that I was curious to try for this ask blog. Of course that Amy will still be responding, but I thought maybe one of the characters will join her to respond to asks.
