RNM Heat Weekend 2022: Aliens and A/B/O June 24-27

It’s Back, Baby! RNM Heat Weekend returns during Roswell’s hottest days of the summer!

This is an event featuring Extreme Thirst, especially on the topic of Omegaverse (Alpha/Beta/Omega or A/B/O) Tropes and Dynamics! Open to all types of fan creators- whether you write fic, create fanart and moodboards, edit gifs, make vids and more, all are invited to participate!

Prompts are generally the same as last year, but in addition to new song prompts, we've added a twist: A set of Mini Challeneges that you can mix, match, combine, and layer on to each day's theme, however you feel inspired. Mini Challenges are listed below the daily prompts.

Friday, June 24- Theme: Omegaverse Dynamics - It’s an A/B/O world

Our cast of Roswell characters, but Alpha/Beta/Omega dynamics are a factor. Maybe it’s the aliens. Maybe it’s the humans with the A/B/O genders and our beloved aliens are trying to fly under the radar. Maybe it’s everyone! Maybe they’re in an AU setting, or right at home in Roswell. Lean into the tropes, or invert them- but no matter what, it’s time for some A/B/O trope to crash land in fandom!

Saturday, June 25 - Theme: Heat - All types of “Heat” tropes

There’s so many ways to frame it- A/B/O Heats and Ruts, Pon Farr, Sex Pollen, Aliens Made Them Do It, Fuck Or Die scenarios- whatever the reason, the characters have to get it on.

Sunday, June 26 - Theme: Mating Bonds, Imprinting, and Alien Biology

Dig into how alien biology might factor into Omegaverse tropes. Is there Knotting? Fluids? Mating Bonds? Breeding kinks? Are there Eggs? Probing? Evolutionary changes to mate in Zero G? What does the scent of rain mean? How does it all work ? Let’s get creative and let our freak flags fly!

“No Small Roles”- include a character in some capacity who is recently introduced to Roswell, or who only joined us for a short amount of time.

 “Drabble Challenge”- take us on the themed journey in a Drabble, or a similarly short-form format

“Trope Inversion”- whatever the rules are supposed to be, a character or the world itself changes things up

“Clown Car”- just how many characters can make an appearance in your work…and in what capacities?

“Rare Pair”- feature a pairing that doesn’t appear all that often 

“Thirst” - be extra thirsty, set a thirst trap (or have a character do the same)
