the audacity they had to accuse the players of trying to get the league shut down when they were the ones to do it themselves. they actively ignored all of them and allowed those “men” to continue abusing those women.

I have seen a lot of people talk about not being able to support the NWSL anymore due to everything that has occurred and I can understand being frustrated, disheartened, and just plain sickened by it all. To be clear though, a lack of support hurts the players even more. I can support the players but not the club or the NWSL as a whole. We can still show up to games and be as loud as possible demanding change for the players while also cheering them on. We can buy merchandise DIRECTLY from the companies that the players operate or the players association, not from the clubs. We can petition, demand change, and never be quiet about everything that has occurred. We need to do this until the players are safe, happy, and healthy. But they also need their fans. They have been through a lot, and if we can show our support for the players, we should do it.

Back when the Covid Cup occurred, players talked about how difficult it was playing for an empty stadium because they thrive on having people cheering for them. We have to continue to cheer for them through this as well. If the league crumbles, the players suffers as well and all the change they have been striving for becomes a moot point.

I do feel bad for the players though, especially the ones that have recently been traded there without any input on the matter.

They do have a decent team - McDonald, Lund, Pickett, Erceg, Howell, Demelo. And I'm excited to see their new Nigerian international Uchenna Kanu. They could be competitive if only they had decent coaching.
