Meet the adventurers

#1 Juan Ortega

≪ My dear son. The time has finally come to introduce him to his very first adventure without me. He is now 15 years old, but Juan he’s really sharp and can very well take care of himself. He is certainly more responsible than his old man! ≫

#2 Ainnlun “Ann” Brown

≪ Mr. Ning, from the Beijing Library, suggested Ms. Brown’s name to me as the best ancient linguist in the square, and chines isn’t even her mother tongue! I think Professor Brown is the perfect figure to translate those ideograms engraved on the bone. ≫

#3 Brandon O’Connor

≪ Ah, what memories! This young man reminds me a lot of myself when I was younger: passionate, ready for anything, promising...and rather unlucky. I immediately took him to heart; he deserves recognition. I don't want him to go through what I went through. ≫

#4 Noah Murphy

≪ Brandon has told me all about Noah, his inseparable companion. I have not yet had the pleasure of meeting him, but from the way Brandon talks about him he sounds like a capable and intelligent young man. Despite his age he already has a Bachelor’s Degree in History. ≫

#5 Matt Corral

≪ Last year I gave permission to a film production company to shoot some scenes of their movie on my land in Texas. It was a very exciting experience and I had the chance to meet the lead actor, Mr. Corral. Chatting with him, he told me that he is a skilled stunt man and has also worked as a bodyguard in the past. He might be a good fit for me. ≫

≪ Mr. Corral would only be convinced if he was filmed in the field by an assault cameraman, so I viewed numerous applications and Mr. Dalson's resume was a perfect fit with what I was looking for: filming at high altitude, at 120 km/h on a motorcycle, plus he has a camera signed by Ridley Scott! ≫

#7 Joe Dean Day

≪ Didn't he owe me a favor? Better book him to be sure he’ll be available during the expedition period. My adventurers could use someone of his caliber. Let's not forget the dear old Jack's bad luck! ≫

“‘Foolhardy Escapade’,” Toronto Star. July 31, 1931. Page 02. --- ‘These men would be respectable citizens if they thought they were themselves,’ stated his worship when Alex. De Mato, Thomas Roberts, Arthur Fleming, and Frank Kimon appeared for sentence for shopbreaking. They had stolen some lamps while on ‘a foolhardy escapade,’ the crown said.

All four were placed on probation for one year.

Earl Silk, guilty of being drunk in charge of an automobile, was placed on probation for one year.

Frank Gifford, a Sudbury youth, guilty of fraud, was given a chance after relative had promised to look after him. Magistrate Jones gave him a few words of advice.

‘This is no town for you, and you go back to Sudbury,’ said the court. ‘Sudbury is bad enough in spots, but it is better for you than Toronto. Don’t you return to the ‘big city’ again or you will get into trouble.’

Gun Confiscated George Greene, colored, convicted on Wednesday of carrying concealed weapons, was given freedom to-day.

‘The crown informs me that you are not a dangerous man, not yet anyhow,’ said the court. ‘You are most dangerous to yourself. See that you get back to Florida fast and don’t get yourself or your wife into trouble agian.’

‘The gun will be confiscated?’ Mr. Gibson asked. ‘Oh, yes,’ ordered Mr. Jones.

Greene was arrested with a colored companion, John Davis, on his arrival in Toronto. He was found to be in possession of a revolver and 30 flat-nosed bullets, which he had brought with him when he motored from Florida on what he described as a vacation.

Six Months’ Terms Peter Thomas and Dalson Heron, were sentenced to six months in jail for theft.

‘I arrested them on St. Clair Ave. and found them with ten shirts under their coats,’ testified P.C. Spencer (663). His evidence was corroborated by P.C. Brown (370).

‘Smart work,’ commented Mr. Jones.

‘These men were evidently trying to obtain money to buy dope,�� said the police.

Couldn’t Pay Damages Frank Law, found guilty a few days ago of aggravated assault, was ordered to pay damages to his victim. To-day he appeared for failure to do so.

‘He has no money,’ Mr. Gibson explained. ‘He lost his job, and the complainant in the case got his place.’

Complainant was willing to ‘call it quits,’ he said, and Law was allowed to go.

Angus Ellis, convicted of false pretences, was sentenced to 30 days in jail. Similar sentence (to date back to date of arrest) was inflicted on Jack Melville, guilty of shopbreaking, and William Mann, guilty of shopbreaking and theft.

Robert Dalson

At first glance he may seem like a guy who doesn't take a situation too seriously with his sarcastic manner, but when Robert has his camera in his hands he pulls out little masterpieces. He has also traveled all over the world because of his work.

He is a big fan of film and other technology; a real geek, in short!

A shoulder strap that size may seem a bit bulky, but it is necessary for carrying filming equipment.

-A film camera. A state-of-the-art model for film resolution.

-A pager; a necessity in this field if you are overworked.

-A clapperboard. No questions asked; Mr. Corral insisted on it.

-A flashlight to illuminate the shot… and to see where to put your feet.
