I realize it's been awhile since I posted this
This is a big ass document I made while I was relistening to SLA to find hints of the Ghostbloods and other overarching Cosmere shit, mostly to prove they aren't as bad as they are made out to be by the fandom.
Some of my takes are wrong/bad here btw! I leave them to show how much I've come to learn about the Cosmere.

Jade - Faerie Circle
Written for @flashfictionfridayofficial
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“It was all just an innocent joke.”
Was how Jade justified his actions later when confronted by Azul. A spur-of-the-moment prank, if you would. Floyd certainly got a kick out of the revelations, giggling at the tale Jade spun and knowing—by keen observation or pure instinct—his brother was a bold-faced liar.
At the time of the incident, Jade admitted it was just to get a little giggle at the expense of the prefect.
He smiled at the prefect. Yuu didn’t look very amused. In her defense, she hadn’t been in a very good mood all morning. That was fine with Jade. He wasn’t the one who made a bet and subsequently lost. He simply reaped the benefits of having a sla—helper for the day.
Yuu pointed at the colony of mushrooms they had discovered on their morning hike. “You seriously think I’d blindly believe a word you say?”
Jade hummed a chuckle. His gaze followed her finger to the perfect circle of red capped mushrooms beside them. The circumference of the circle was just large enough for a person to stand in. Say a faerie. Or gullible, magicless human. “I’m admittedly hurt to know you trust me so little.”
“You tried to get me to pick poisonous mushrooms for you less than five minutes ago.”
“They’re only poisonous if you ingest them.” Jade paused. His smile widened when her cynical glare remained unwavering. “And they may cause a rash for sensitive skin. Their use in alchemy is quite expansive.”
Yuu’s eyelids fluttered, refusing to blink from sheer stubbornness. “I’m not stepping in the circle.”
“You would reject such a valuable staple of fae culture?”
“I know at least three fae who live on campus. None of them have ever mentioned these so-called faerie circles. Not even Lilia.”
“Ah, but they’re so commonplace, why would they ever think to bring them up in conversation?” Jade argued. He exerted careful control over his expression, shrinking his grin and widening his eyes in a show of faux innocence. “It would be the equivalent of merfolk explaining whirlpools or humans detailing a doorway.”
“Merfolk don’t use whirlpools to teleport from one side of the ocean to the other,” Yuu insisted. Her gaze became sharper, likely her eyes desperately crying for the relief of the blink she refused to give them. “Floyd would have mentioned that by now.”
“Ah, but it would be the equi—.”
“You step into the circle then.”
Jade feigned sudden shocked. “Me? And risk potentially disrupting my transformation potion? The fae use powerful magic to power their mushroom circles. Powerful enough that I could lose my human form and return to my true form. Could you imagine the sheer panic of losing the ability to breathe? To slowly suffocate as my gills tremble with exertion to—.”
“Fine!” Yuu snapped. Jade’s feigned shock faltered, and he had to hide his returning grin behind the tips of his fingers. “If it gets us back to campus before lunch, I’ll step into the stupid circle. But for the record, I want it clearly stated that I absolutely don’t believe a word you sa—.”
A flash of muted light engulfed the prefect the second she planted both feet in the center of the circle. Jade owlishly blinked at the empty mushroom circle. He searched the isolated meadow as if he would find Yuu hiding somewhere along the edge of the tree line. When his search only verified the missing prefect, his focus returned to the mushroom circle. The red capped mushrooms stood innocently in front of him.
A giggle escaped him before he could swallow it. He hoisted his hiking bag onto his back and grabbed the small sack of mushrooms Yuu carried for the duration of their hike. “Oh, dear! It would look as if my small prank has gone awry. Our poor prefect has been swept away to lands unknown. Whatever shall I do?”
Jade paused. He carefully nudged the cap of the nearest mushroom. The stalk bent slightly under pressure but sprung back into place when he pulled away. Jade shrugged and clipped the sack of mushrooms onto his belt. “I suppose this is simply beyond my realm of expertise. Surely there is someone more suitable for the task back on campus. I would be remiss to move forward in this endeavor alone. After all, I could be stuck a mere eel out of water if I do not tread lightly.”
Later, after gathering a heroic rescue party consisting of Grim, Lilia, Kalim, Trey, and a visiting purple cat from Royal Sword Academy and bravely confronting a small band of gnomes, Jade happily chimed “I told you so.” to the most unamused prefect he had the gleeful opportunity of rescuing.

Integrating ROSA Applications with AWS Services (CS221)
As cloud-native architectures become the backbone of modern application deployments, combining the power of Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS (ROSA) with native AWS services unlocks immense value for developers and DevOps teams alike. In this blog post, we explore how to integrate ROSA-hosted applications with AWS services to build scalable, secure, and cloud-optimized solutions — a key skill set emphasized in the CS221 course.
🚀 What is ROSA?
Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS (ROSA) is a managed OpenShift platform that runs natively on AWS. It allows organizations to deploy Kubernetes-based applications while leveraging the scalability and global reach of AWS, without managing the underlying infrastructure.
With ROSA, you get:
Fully managed OpenShift clusters
Integrated with AWS IAM and billing
Access to AWS services like RDS, S3, DynamoDB, Lambda, etc.
Native CI/CD, container orchestration, and operator support
🧩 Why Integrate ROSA with AWS Services?
ROSA applications often need to interact with services like:
Amazon S3 for object storage
Amazon RDS or DynamoDB for database integration
Amazon SNS/SQS for messaging and queuing
AWS Secrets Manager or SSM Parameter Store for secrets management
Amazon CloudWatch for monitoring and logging
Integration enhances your application’s:
Scalability — Offload data, caching, messaging to AWS-native services
Security — Use IAM roles and policies for fine-grained access control
Resilience — Rely on AWS SLAs for critical components
Observability — Monitor and trace hybrid workloads via CloudWatch and X-Ray
🔐 IAM and Permissions: Secure Integration First
A crucial part of ROSA-AWS integration is managing IAM roles and policies securely.
Steps:
Create IAM Roles for Service Accounts (IRSA):
ROSA supports IAM Roles for Service Accounts, allowing pods to securely access AWS services without hardcoding credentials.
Attach IAM Policy to the Role:
Example: An application that uploads files to S3 will need the following permissions:{ "Effect": "Allow", "Action": ["s3:PutObject", "s3:GetObject"], "Resource": "arn:aws:s3:::my-bucket-name/*" }
Annotate OpenShift Service Account:
Use oc annotate to associate your OpenShift service account with the IAM role.
📦 Common Integration Use Cases
1. Storing App Logs in S3
Use a Fluentd or Loki pipeline to export logs from OpenShift to Amazon S3.
2. Connecting ROSA Apps to RDS
Applications can use standard drivers (PostgreSQL, MySQL) to connect to RDS endpoints — make sure to configure VPC and security groups appropriately.
3. Triggering AWS Lambda from ROSA
Set up an API Gateway or SNS topic to allow OpenShift applications to invoke serverless functions in AWS for batch processing or asynchronous tasks.
4. Using AWS Secrets Manager
Mount secrets securely in pods using CSI drivers or inject them using operators.
🛠 Hands-On Example: Accessing S3 from ROSA Pod
Here’s a quick walkthrough:
Create an IAM Role with S3 permissions.
Associate the role with a Kubernetes service account.
Deploy your pod using that service account.
Use AWS SDK (e.g., boto3 for Python) inside your app to access S3.
oc create sa s3-access oc annotate sa s3-access eks.amazonaws.com/role-arn=arn:aws:iam::<account-id>:role/S3AccessRole
Then reference s3-access in your pod’s YAML.
📚 ROSA CS221 Course Highlights
The CS221 course from Red Hat focuses on:
Configuring service accounts and roles
Setting up secure access to AWS services
Using OpenShift tools and operators to manage external integrations
Best practices for hybrid cloud observability and logging
It’s a great choice for developers, cloud engineers, and architects aiming to harness the full potential of ROSA + AWS.
✅ Final Thoughts
Integrating ROSA with AWS services enables teams to build robust, cloud-native applications using best-in-class tools from both Red Hat and AWS. Whether it's persistent storage, messaging, serverless computing, or monitoring — AWS services complement ROSA perfectly.
Mastering these integrations through real-world use cases or formal training (like CS221) can significantly uplift your DevOps capabilities in hybrid cloud environments.

Cancelled Missions: Apollo-Soyuz Test Program II, with a Salyut Space Station
Tumblr media
"The Apollo-Soyuz Test Project (ASTP) had its origins in talks aimed at developing a common U.S./Soviet docking system for space rescue. The concept of a common docking system was first put forward in 1970; it was assumed at that time, however, that the docking system would be developed for future spacecraft, such as the U.S. Space Station/Space Shuttle, not the U.S. Apollo Command and Service Module (CSM) and Soviet Soyuz spacecraft in operation at the time.
Tumblr media
A joint U.S./Soviet space mission served the political aims of both countries, however, so the concept of a near-term docking mission rapidly gained momentum. In May 1972, at the superpower summit meeting held in Moscow, President Richard Nixon and Premier Alexei Kosygin signed an agreement calling for an Apollo-Soyuz docking in July 1975.
NASA and its contractors studied ways of expanding upon ASTP even before it was formally approved; in April 1972, for example, McDonnell Douglas proposed a Skylab-Salyut international space laboratory . A year and a half later (September 1973), however, the aerospace trade magazine Aviation Week & Space Technology cited unnamed NASA officials when it reported that, while the Soviets had indicated interest in a 1977 second ASTP flight, the U.S. space agency was 'currently unwilling' to divert funds from Space Shuttle development.
Tumblr media
Salyut Apollo docking diagram
Nevertheless, early in 1974 the Flight Operations Directorate (FOD) at NASA Johnson Space Center (JSC) in Houston, Texas, examined whether a second ASTP mission might be feasible in 1977. The 1977 ASTP proposal aimed to fill the expected gap in U.S. piloted space missions between the 1975 ASTP mission and the first Space Shuttle flight.
The brief in-house study focused on mission requirements for which NASA JSC had direct responsibility. FOD assumed that Apollo CSM-119 would serve as the prime 1977 ASTP spacecraft and that the U.S. would again provide the Docking Module (DM) for linking the Apollo CSM with the Soyuz spacecraft. CSM-119 had been configured as the five-seat Skylab rescue CSM; work to modify it to serve as the 1975 ASTP backup spacecraft began as FOD conducted its study, soon after the third and final Skylab crew returned to Earth in February 1974. FOD suggested that, if a backup CSM were deemed necessary for the 1977 ASTP mission, then the incomplete CSM-115 spacecraft should get the job. CSM-115, which resided in storage in California, had been tapped originally for the cancelled Apollo 19 moon landing mission.
FOD also assumed that the ASTP prime crew of Thomas Stafford, Vance Brand, and Deke Slayton would serve as the backup crew for the 1977 ASTP mission, while the 1975 ASTP backup crew of Alan Bean, Ronald Evans, and Jack Lousma would become the 1977 ASTP prime crew. FOD conceded, however, that this assumption was probably not realistic. If new crewmembers were needed, FOD noted, then training them would require 20 months. They would undergo 500 hours of intensive language instruction during their training.
FOD estimated that Rockwell International support for the 1977 ASTP flight would cost $49.6 million, while new experiments, nine new space suits, and 'government-furnished equipment' would total $40 million. Completing and modifying CSM-115 for its backup role would cost $25 million. Institutional costs — for example, operating Mission Control and the Command Module Simulator (CMS), printing training manuals and flight documentation, and keeping the cafeteria open after hours — would add up to about $15 million. This would bring the total cost to $104.7 million without the backup CSM and $129.7 million with the backup CSM.
The FOD study identified 'two additional major problems' facing the 1977 ASTP mission, both of which involved NASA JSC's Space Shuttle plans. The first was that the CMS had to be removed to make room for planned Space Shuttle simulators. Leaving it in place to support the 1977 ASTP mission would postpone Shuttle simulator availability.
Tumblr media
A thornier problem was that 75% of NASA JSC's existing flight controllers (about 100 people) would be required for the 1977 ASTP in the six months leading up to and during the mission. In the same period, NASA planned to conduct "horizontal" Space Shuttle flight tests. These would see a Shuttle Orbiter flown atop a modified 747; later, the aircraft would release the Orbiter for an unpowered glide back to Earth. FOD estimated that NASA JSC would need to hire new flight controllers if it had to support both the 1977 ASTP and the horizontal flight tests. The new controllers would receive training to support Space Shuttle testing while veteran controllers supported the 1977 ASTP.
The ASTP Apollo CSM (CSM-111) lifted off on a Saturn IB rocket on 15 July 1975 with astronauts Thomas Stafford, Vance Brand, and Donald Slayton on board. The ASTP Saturn IB, the last rocket of the Saturn family to fly, lifted off from Launch Complex (LC) 39 Pad B, one of two Saturn V pads at Kennedy Space Center, not the LC 34 and LC 37 pads used for Saturn IB launches in the Apollo lunar program. This was because NASA had judged that maintaining the Saturn IB pads for Skylab and ASTP would be too costly. A 'pedestal' (nicknamed the 'milkstool') raised the Skylab 2, 3, and 4 and ASTP Saturn IB rockets so that they could use the Pad 39B Saturn V umbilicals and crew access arm.
Tumblr media
Once in orbit, the ASTP CSM turned and docked with the DM mounted on top of the Saturn IB's second stage. It then withdrew the DM from the stage and set out in pursuit of the Soyuz 19 spacecraft, which had launched about eight hours before the Apollo CSM with cosmonauts Alexei Leonov and Valeri Kubasov on board. The two craft docked on 17 July and undocked for the final time on July 19. Soyuz 19 landed on 21 July. The ASTP Apollo CSM, the last Apollo spacecraft to fly, splashed down near Hawaii on 24 July 1975 — six years to the day after Apollo 11, the first piloted Moon landing mission, returned to Earth.
The proposal for a 1977 ASTP repeat gained little traction. Though talks aimed at a U.S. Space Shuttle docking with a Soviet Salyut space station had resumed in May 1975, no plans for new U.S.-Soviet manned missions existed when the ASTP Apollo splashed down. Shuttle-Salyut negotiators made progress in 1975-1976, but the U.S. deferred signing an agreement until after the results of the November 1976 election were known.
Tumblr media
In May 1977, the sides formally agreed that a Shuttle-Salyut mission should occur. In September 1978, however, NASA announced that talks had ended pending results of a comprehensive U.S. government review. Following the December 1979 Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, work toward joint U.S.-Soviet piloted space missions was abandoned on advice from the U.S. Department of State. It would resume a decade later as the Soviet Union underwent radical internal changes that led to its collapse in 1991 and the rebirth of the Soviet space program as the Russian space program."

Mengenal Titan Infra Sejahtera Penggerak Infrastruktur Energi Berkelanjutan di Sumatera Selatan
Tumblr media
Pelabuhan Swarnadwipa: Gerbang Ekspor Modern
Intermediate Stockpile: Penyangga Rantai Pasok
Keduanya dilengkapi crusher berkapasitas 23.000–30.000 ton/hari, memastikan kontinuitas pasok meski cuaca ekstrem.
Dampak Ekonomi: Mendorong Pertumbuhan Regional
Keberadaan PT Titan Infra Sejahtera telah mengubah lanskap ekonomi Sumatera Selatan:
Peningkatan Volume Ekspor: Dari 14 juta ton (2022) menjadi 18,8 juta ton (2023), dengan proyeksi 21,5 juta ton di 2024.
Penyerapan Tenaga Kerja: Menciptakan 2.500 lapangan kerja langsung, termasuk 30% bagi warga lokal.
Penghematan Biaya Logistik: Mitra tambang seperti PT Bara Energi Lestari menghemat 20% biaya logistik, meningkatkan margin keuntungan 12%.
