Of course he is, he's the protagonist after all. I wonder if he's still the same though. And I hope he's not. 🌚

My only guess, and absolutely wish and dream, is that while he's still alive, Inner Kuro is actually just finishing with him what he started in chapter 67, before he was RUDELY interrupted by Tsurugi.

Ah the absolute soul torture in a place where Mahiru has nothing and no one to run to besides his absolute fears and miseries PLEASE.

Another thing that makes me think that it's also the fact that anytime he entered Kuro's mind, or came in contact with it, Inner Kuro has always made sure that he returned changed in one way or another and as reward for that he's given him a new weapon each time he's so sweet slothmahi heart heart 🥹

Imagine what will happen now when he's not only in contact with a fragment of Inner Kuro, but Inner Kuro HIMSELF and in HIS territory.

And this is unrelated to this but I just noticed this when I went to look for those screenshots. Have yall ever noticed how in most posters and official arts Kuro is often shown in both cat form and vampire form? Lately, I've been wondering if that could be a representation of his separation from inner kuro and I see this.

How Kuro and Mahiru are separated. Just like in that chapter. That later turned into CHAPTERS. But they're separated and we even have mahiru on side with Touma and Kuro with Yumi.

But who's with Mahiru???? Cat Kuro. And who was with him during that chapter? Inner Kuro. And there's so many blonds in servamp look at that.
