What is SSC GD Constable Exam?
Staff selection commission conducts SSC GD Exam to recruit the staff for the posts of Constable (General Duty) in Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Border Security Force (BSF), Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Sashashtra Seema BAL (SSB), National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Secretariat Security Force (SSF) and Rifleman (General Duty) in Assam Rifles.
Paper pattern and scheme of SSC GD:
SSC GD constable Exam conducted in 3 phases: Phase 1, phase 2 and phase 3.
Phase 1 (CBE): It is a computer based examination (CBE). It includes subjects like General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Knowledge and General Awareness, Elementary Mathematics, English/ Hindi.
It contains 100 questions of 100 marks and total time is given to attempt the examination is 120 minutes.
Phase 2 (PET): If you have qualified the 1st exam than you will be shortlisted for Physical Efficiency Test (PET). One cannot qualify this exam if you are not physically fit. There are some predefined standards that have to meet by the candidates to qualify the exam.
Phase 3 (DME): It is a detailed medical examination test that has to qualify by the candidates who qualify PET test. Only Medically fit candidates are accepted into the CAPFs.
Preparation Tips for SSC GD Constable Exam
You have to study each subject daily in a timely manner. You can set a deadline for a particular subject. You should have to give a minimum of 2 hours daily for an individual subject. Below we are describing the subject wise preparation tips:
For Mathematics:
Choose the topic first that have more weightage in the Exam. Some important topics are Number Systems, Ratio, and Proportion, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Mensuration, Time and Distance.
The only thing you needed to score high in this section is “practice”. You can increase your speed if you do a lot of practice.
Do not skip any question. If you face any problem regarding any topic or question, try to understand that.

Use short tricks and formula to solve the questions.
After completion of one topic, solve questions related to that topic.
For Reasoning:
Mark the important topics and start to study from there. Some important topics in reasoning are Analogies, Similarities and Differences, Coding and Decoding, Relationship Concepts, Arithmetical Reasoning, and Figural Classification.
Most of the candidates find it simple rather than another subject. You can score marks in this subject. So prepare according to that.
You need to speed up in this section to score high. So practice more and more.

For General awareness:
The syllabus is vast for general awareness as it includes almost all the subjects like History, Culture, General Polity, Indian Constitution, and Geography.

Revise everything, whatever you read throughout the day.
