Beware of Woodland Christian Church in Woodland, WA. I am a former member who attended from 2016 to 2023.
Dispensational baptist church with a Gothardism hangover that also pays lip service to Quiverfull and patriarchy movement.
Eldership is a "good-ol boys club" with long track record of spiritual abuse. Several "dynasty families" pull the strings in the background and act as sycophants and excusers for the elders.
Their counseling program is law-centered, not gospel-centered, and serves as a platform for puffing themselves up or projecting their own marital frustrations on counselees.
Promotes Catholic view of marriage (marriage permanence): any and all divorce is condemned.
A highly-convenient location is how they keep a steady flow of parishioners despite their high turnover rate.
On a positive note, the worship team is skilled and offers a mix of modern and old hymns rather than just CCM pablum.
Note: A LARGE number of the five-star reviews for this church are not written by congregants. They're just puff reviews sourced through Scott Lapierre's book ministry and speaking events.
Full review: This church has the highest turnover rate of any church I've ever been to in my life, and I've been to many over the decades. Countless people have been burned here. I was one of them. Will you be next?
This is a church where grace is preached in the pulpits but scolded in the pews. A church where your confession will be used as an opportunity to hold you down, chide you, judge you, compare you, and control you. If you protest, you will be labeled as "lacking zeal" in your repentance. If you're open about your struggles, you will be told that your honesty is merely a "mask for credibility". Meanwhile, the elders' and deacons' own fleshly habits don't reach their man-made threshold of "serious sin", so they get a pass.
This is a church highly concerned about whether you've sufficiently suffered for your sin, or what they perceive to be your sin. How tempted I am to produce the numerous messages I received from the elders and deacons along these lines: the bizarre pronouncements that God is "pouring out" his consequences on me and how "irretrievably broken" my children will be as a result of me wanting to move on from a painful marriage and divorce.
With the approval of the elders, one of the deacons, angered that I resisted his months-long pharisaical badgering, defamed me in front of the congregation AFTER I PEACEABLY LEFT THE CHURCH. Up to this point, not once had the eldership made an accusation against me or implied that I ought to be disciplined. When I resigned, no accusation was made. See below image. In fact, Nathan Richardson, months earlier, had acknowledged that the church would accept my resignation!
(Note: Scott's email response to me is disingenuous. Almost eight months prior, I had sent a lengthy email criticizing Nathan Richardson's ill-attempt at counseling and they never responded at all other than to say they received the email and had privately discussed it. Yet Scott acts as though I'm stomping off because I'm "offended".)
Several congregants familiar with my divorce knew of the absurdity of the leadership's attempt to publicly shame me, but made little or no effort to confront them. This is a church of milquetoast men who shrug their shoulders at spiritual abuse since it is their childhood church and because such incidents are par for the course with this eldership.
I am not writing this review to vindicate myself. The eldership can continue to slander me and twist the story of my divorce all they want. My reputation at WCC is of no consequence. Moreover, this account of spiritual abuse is not just my personal opinion. At least three other pastors, knowing this church's theology and counseling practices, encouraged me to leave WCC a year before I actually did. Perhaps I should have, but now God has used what I have gone through so that I can warn others.
I believe that all four elders are disqualified for ministry per Titus 1:7. The unnamed deacon is a slanderer, backbiter, and is self-condemned per Titus 3:10-11. None of these men, including their wives, have any business offering counseling. It is my opinion that all of these men should step down from ministry and receive counseling until sufficient repentance and self-reflection has taken place. Best of providence to them.
"My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment." (James 3:1)

Top 10 best songs of T-ara
T-ara is one of the finest South Korean girl groups due to their catchy themes, upbeat music and amazing choreography. T-ara was the also the first girl group in South Korea to release a full length album in 2009 with fourteen songs! Their debut album established them among the top girl groups to look out for in the year 2010 thanks to their hit song “Bo peep bo peep”. The song was so popular that television variety shows had a tagline saying that there was no one in the country who did not know the song and if there was someone like that, then he must be a spy!.XD. The following list is my opinion on the best songs by T-ara.

Why are you being like this?(Wae Ireoni): This was T-ara’s first song with their new member Hwayoung. The song is a blend of retro pop and disco. The MV broadly focuses on the members encouraging Jiyeon to open up to her love interest. This song received 2 consecutive wins on M. countdown for this comeback.
Like the first time:
Like the first time was chosen over Bo Peep Bo Peep for determining the title track of absolute first album through a public poll, however CCM went ahead with bo peep bo peep as the title song and promoted it. Must say that was a smart move but like the first time hits differently. It’s something so sensual, so soothing about this music and the singing that you cannot get over it. Also, this song was produced the Bang Si Hyuk! need I say more?
Cry Cry
“Cry Cry” peaked at number 1 on the Billboard Korea K-Pop Hot 100 and won two consecutive first-place awards on M! Countdown. The music video for “Cry Cry” was noted for having One billion Korean won production budget and a thirty-minute drama story line starring Cha Seungwon and Ji Changwook.
I go crazy because of you
T-ara held their comeback performance on the same day as the sng’s release on M! Countdown, and won several music awards for “Neo Ttaemune Michyeo” over the course of their promotions: two consecutive Mutizen wins on Inkigayo and one first place award on M! Countdown.
Roly poly
The single became a breakthrough success, becoming the top-grossing and highest-selling single of 2011 in South Korea with over four digital million units sold. “Roly-Poly” was awarded Best Music Video at the 3rd Melon Music Awards and Singer of the Year (July) at the 1st Gaon Chart Awards, and was nominated Best Dance Performance by a Female Group and Song of the Year at the 13th Mnet Asian Music Awards. It officially established them as the top 3 girl groups in Korea needless to say they entered the forbes list of power celebrities due to the songs popularity.
Sugar free
This album included an English version of “Sugar Free”, which was the first song T-ara had recorded in English, which charted at No. 4 at Billboard’s World Digital Single and No. 12 at Billboard’s World Album.
Lovey dovey
T-ara did the zombie concept before it was cool. And not to mention the shuffle dance which still remains popular. “Lovey-Dovey” scored the number one position on the Gaon singles chart, which is the Korean equivalent to the Billboard Hot 100. In 2012 “Lovey-Dovey” has achieved digital sales of over 3.7 million in South Korea alone
Day by day
The second part of the music video was released in August, 2012. The song reached number 2 on the Gaon Weekly Digital Singles Chart and the Billboard Korea K-Pop Hot 100.It was announced on June 12, 2012, as a 20-minute music video drama starring the group themselves in a science-fiction setting.
Number 9
The EP reached number 2 on the South Korean Gaon Weekly Albums Chart and number 45 on Japan’s Oricon Weekly Albums Chart as a Korean import. The single “Number 9” reached number 5 on the Gaon Weekly Digital Chart and number 4 on Billboard’s Korea K-Pop Hot 100.
Sexy love
Two singles, “Sexy Love” and “Najgwa Bam (Love All)” (낮과 밤, “Day and Night”), were released from the album on the same day, with “Sexy Love” peaking at number four on the Gaon charts and number three on the Billboard Korea K-pop Hot 100 charts.
Also there were 2 other songs which I wanted to include in the list but didn’t because they are collaboration songs.
1.Time to love: In September 2009, Eunjung, Soyeon, Hyomin and Jiyeon collaborated with labelmates Kwangsu, Jihyuk, and Geonil of Supernova for the single “TTL (Time to Love)”. It was released on September 15, 2009, and became both groups’ first number one song as it topped many of the online charts. They performed a cameo of this song on High Kick 2.
2. We were in love: T-ara and Davichi released their Christmastide ballad, “Uri Saranghaetjanha” on December 23, 2011 which was later included on T-ara’s Funky Town re-release album. The single reached number one on the Gaon Chart and peaked at number two on the Billboard Korea K-Pop Hot 100.

Yo I didn’t tell anyone, but on July 8th I beat Super Mario 64 for the second time in my first-ever speedrun!
I did a 31-star speedrun (which involves backwards-long jumping on stairs in the lobby that makes you build up so much speed that you pass through doors that check your progress, and you skip 57% of the game), and I got a 1:55:03. Pretty shabby, considering 120th place on the leaderboards has a 1:05:40, so I’m probably not getting a leaderboard-worthy record anytime soon.
I think I got such a bad time because I was stubborn to actually do speedrun strats, I didn’t care about getting a fast time enough to even go to the basement after getting the basement key to even access the levels and stars there.
My main priority was to beat and master all the levels in the castle lobby first floor (BoB, PSS, BitDW, WF, SA, JRB, and CCM, in that order), and I didn’t care about getting any caps so I just skipped the ones I couldn’t do without strats (the Wing Cap star in BoB; the jet stream star in JRB).
I died a bunch of times on the Frosty Slide in CCM, which killed a bunch of time, and when I was BLJ-ing up the Infinite Stairs I accidentally warped into Wet Dry World, for the first time in my life. (Apparently this happens when you’re moving so fast that you clip through the wall? floor? and you end up above the floor triangles of the WDW painting, which warp you there no matter how high you are above them.) That killed even more time, because while it was hard enough that I BLJ-ed far enough that I even got to the Infinite Stairs, now I had to BLJ back.
I wanted to play for fun, but in terms of everyone speedrunning this game, I think I took it a bit far. If I’d actually been wanting a leaderboard-worthy run, then of course I’d use the strats that everyone there uses, and I wouldn’t get stars that would only waste time in a speedrun setting. I don’t think my quote-unquote “strats” would even be acceptable in a 120-star speedrun, where you try to get all the stars in the game and go for 100% completion! (Spoiler alert, surely enough, they do far from what I do. They BLJ into BitDW first, use cannonless on both stars in WF that require a cannon, use owlless on that one star in WF, do a speedrun strat in PSS twice, clip into the side of the JRB ship when it’s still sunk, go into BoB after getting the Wing Cap, use a speedrun strat on the Frosty Slide, and get the 100 coin star while in the slide.)
So what I’m doing is just weird then. No one even does 31-star speedrun anymore (It’s a category extension! Not some sub-category of the main list!), and I’m still trying to act all “orthodox” about it? I’m like “oh, look at me, I’m getting the Chain Chomp star without a bomb clip! I’m doing PSS while going the whole length of the slide! I’m doing WF without abusing the invincibility I get while ground pounding! (Like what does that even mean?) But BLJ-ing? Pftt! Nah. That’s not on the list. It’s fun, and I’ll allow myself to do that.”
So this all sounds pretty stupid. But I’m pretty happy with all that I’ve done anyways.

(ID: a photo I took on July 6th of the first time I beat SM64, also with 31 stars.)

this weeks newsletter is late because i wanted to let all-star weekend actually close out and also because i was out of town
This week there’s a special spotlight on the Edmonton Oilers and whatever is going on with the water there. Also All-Star Weekend happened so there’s that.
Weekly Recap:
On Wednesday, the Edmonton Oilers officially announced that GM/President Peter Chiarelli had been fired. Earlier this season the Oilers also fired their coach and brought in Ken Hitchcock.
There was slight concern that Erik Karlsson might miss the All-Star Game due to injury, but luckily he was able to participate.
Hockey legend Pavel Datsyuk is coming up on the end of his KHL contract and his agent says he’s not ruling out an NHL return.
In a somewhat unexpected turn of events, Tyler Seguin (Dallas Stars) has made a surprising change is his pregame routine with Mark Scheifele (Winnipeg Jets) by exiting the ice without putting up a fight. Both Scheifele and Seguin prefer to be the last player off the ice after warm-ups which has, in the past, led them to rock-paper-scissors and, most recently, trickery. More on this next week.
Connor McDavid won Fastest Skater for the third year in a row at the All-Star Skills Competition. All Skills Comp results can be found at nhl.com.
Brianna Decker of the US National Women’s Team was among those who demonstrated for the All-Star Skills Comp and her time was faster than that of Leon Draisaitl, who won the competition. This prompted fans to tweet #PayDecker, as the winners of Skills Comps get paid for winning them and fans felt that Decker, who had the fastest overall time, had been cheated. CCM announced they would #PayDecker the full amount.
The NHL announced that they would pay $25,000, the amount of the prize money for competition, to all four demonstrators from the US National Women’s Team; Kendall Coyne Schofield, Brianna Decker, Renata Fast, and Rebecca Johnston. The money will go to the charity of their choice.
The All-Star MVP Award was given to Sidney Crosby for his performance in the All-Star Game.
Additional All-Star coverage and news can be found at nhl.com.
AHL All-Star Classic results can be found at theahl.com.
Play of the Week:
Kendall Coyne Schofield of the US National Women’s Team became the first women to compete at All-Star Weekend. She replaced Nate Mackinnon in the Fastest Skater Competition on Friday.
Players to Watch:
Forward Taylor Hall of the New Jersey Devils currently has 11 goals and 37 points in 33 games played this season. He has a career total of 202 goals and 511 points in 562 games played. Hall was drafted first overall by the Edmonton Oilers in 2010; he played six seasons in Edmonton before being traded to New Jersey in exchange for Adam Larsson.
Forward Ryan Nugent-Hopkins of the Edmonton Oilers currently has 16 goals and 46 points in 50 games played this season. He has a career total of 135 goals and 359 points in 507 games played. Nugent-Hopkins was drafted first overall by the Edmonton Oilers in 2011.
Forward Jordan Eberle of the New York Islanders currently has 11 goals and 23 points in 45 games played this season. He has a career total of 201 goals and 464 points in 633 games played. Eberle was drafted 22nd overall by the Edmonton Oilers in 2008; he played seven seasons in Edmonton before being traded to the Islanders in exchange for Ryan Strome.*
(*Ryan Strome was recently traded to the Rangers in exchange for Ryan Spooner, who was sent down to the Bakersfield Condors of the American Hockey League.)
Prospect Watch:
Forward Kailer Yamamoto, drafted 22nd overall by the Edmonton Oilers in 2017, has 2 points in 17 games this season in the NHL; he has 5 points in 26 games played in the NHL. He has 4 goals and 8 points in 13 games played with the Bakersfield Condors of the American Hockey League this season. Before being drafted, Yamamoto played with the Spokane Chiefs of the Western Hockey League where he tallied 105 goals and 291 points in 230 games played.
Forward Ryan McLeod, drafted 40th overall by the Edmonton Oilers in 2018, currently plays for the Saginaw Spirit of the Ontario Hockey League; he previously played for the Mississauga Steelheads, also of the Ontario Hockey League. McLeod has 14 goals and 46 points in 41 games played this season between the two teams. He has a career total of 56 goals and 178 points in 239 games played.
Team of the Week**:
The Edmonton Oilers, who are currently 7th in the Pacific Division of the Western Conference, were founded in 1971 but didn’t play their first game until 1972 as one of the founding teams in the World Hockey Association and were originally supposed to be one of two Alberta teams along with the Calgary Broncos, who relocated to Cleveland, Ohio before the WHAs first season. Because the Broncos relocated, the Edmonton Oilers were renamed the Alberta Oilers, though they did return to their original name the following season. The Oilers joined the NHL in 1979 when the two leagues merged. The Oilers have won five Stanley Cups, most recently in 1989-90. The Oilers very famously played from Rexall Place (Northlands Coliseum) from 1974-2016. They now play from Rogers Place. Notable alumni include Wayne Gretzky, Mark Messier, Grant Fuhr, Adam Oates and Jacques Plante.
Outside the NHL:
The National Women’s Hockey League All-Star Weekend will take place at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville February 9-10.
The American Hockey League All-Star Classic was hosted by the Springfield Thunderbirds January 27-28. Results can be found at theahl.com.
Weekly Thoughts:
The Edmonton Oilers have been struggling this season, which has been a theme for the franchise for this decade. The Oilers have had four first overall picks in the last 9 years; in addition to this they have had Top Ten picks four separate years in the same span. Many blame former GM/President Peter Chiarelli for the poor state of the franchise, despite the fact that his career with the franchise started in 2015, which is long after their struggles began.
Prior to be hired by the Oilers, Chiarelli worked for, and was fired by, the Boston Bruins. In his time with Boston, he drafted Tyler Seguin second overall in 2010, but traded him to the Dallas Stars in July of 2013. Seguin became one of the top producers in Dallas as well as a fan favorite; there are those who view this as a bad trade, and those who do not.
While working for the Oilers, Chiarelli drafted Connor McDavid first overall in 2015. He also worked out a trade with the Islanders which resulted in them gaining the draft pick that gave them Mat Barzal, who won the Calder this summer. Chiarelli also dealt Jordan Eberle to the Islanders in exchange for Ryan Strome.
Chiarelli also traded defenceman Justin Schultz to the Pittsburgh Penguins, who went on to win the Stanley Cup two seasons in a row.
The summer after drafting Connor McDavid, Chiarelli dealt Taylor Hall, the first overall pick from 2010, to the New Jersey Devils in exchange for Adam Larsson. This is still a hotly debated trade.
Chiarelli has also signed several frankly outrageous contract extensions. Milan Lucic at 28 was given a seven year, $42 million extension. Goaltender Mikko Koskinen, 30, was recently signed to a three year, $13.5 million extension after only appearing in 31 NHL games.
While Peter Chiarelli made mistakes and ultimately harmed the franchise, he is not the source of all their struggles. The franchise has been on a decline for a very long time and it might be time to just toss the whole front office and start fresh. This would, of course, steal even more time from Connor McDavid who honestly deserves a team that is doing well, seeing as he already carries the weight of the franchise on his back.
Weekly Vocabulary:
Toe Drag: Dragging the puck along the ice with the end (toe) of the stick blade on the ice as opposed to pushing with the bottom edge.
Poke Check: Using the stick to poke the puck away from an opponent.
Deke: When a player handles the puck or himself in such a manner to fool the opponent into moving out of position, allowing the player to get past. Originated from the word decoy.
Dangle: When a player does a series of dekes in a row to get around the opposing players.
Wheel: Typically referred to when there is time and space to skate with the puck, sometimes is said to tell someone to skate faster.
Snipe: A powerful, accurate shot used to finish plays.
Celly: Short for celebration. A player may celly after scoring a goal.
Weekly Trivia:
The first NHL All-Star Game was held at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto on October 13, 1947. The Maple Leafs played against a team of All-Star players from other teams in the league. The All-Star team won 4-3. The idea of the game originated from the Player’s Committee and was approved on May 23, 1947. The proceeds from the game were divided between Toronto charities and the Player’s Emergency (Benevolent and Disability) Fund. At a meeting in September, players agreed to set up a pension fund, to which players gave $900 each and 25 cents per every playoff ticket sold and two-thirds of the All-Star Game proceeds.
Weekly Standings:

🐧: Did you watch the All-Star game? I only watched part of the skills and the metro games on Saturday, but it was pretty good!! The women honestly killed it out there and I really hope they get paid. The Sid-Tanger-Barzal line was pure fire and I realized I really need to start watching more Islanders games! I didn’t realize they were first in the Metro! And ty for directing me to that adorable picture. Tanger and his family are honestly too beautiful for us. Fingers crossed for a win tonight!
So many thoughts on the All Star Game.
1. I thought the women killed it. I’m so happy CCM is stepping up and paying Brianna Decker for a competition she won. Social media still had the sexist people, but it really showed the progress that has been made.
2. Loved the Sid-Tanger-Barzal line. Up until the end of the game I actually thought Kris deserved MVP, but of course Sid was amazing. The one thing that was tough about that line is when you realize how New York got Barzal. The Islanders got the pick from Edmonton in a trade, but that wasn’t Edmonton’s pick. That pick actually belonged to the Penguins who traded it for David Perron. So now, I’m longing for what could’ve been.
3. That photo was just everything. So many cute kids at this event. Brent Burns’ daughter Peyton interviewed people on the red carpet and she was amazing.
4. I’m hoping for some good things now following the break. We’re do for Geno to go on a tear.

The next day Ken Willis of KJV Answers added his two cents.
Bob Jones University will host former Clemson and current NFL quarterback Trevor Lawrence later this month. This move comes as surprise to some Conservative churches formerly and still associated with the University, yet it is in full keeping with BJU’s shift away from Fundamentalism and open embrace of New Evangelicalism and ecumenicism. The invitation of Lawrence to address the student body is however an even farther shift left for BJU; one that involves Marxism, Black Lives Matter and hardcore contemporary Christianity.
Lawrence has been an active member of the Newspring, Anderson SC Campus Church. Newspring is known across the Carolinas as a radically contemporary group, involving heavy rock and roll and pyrotechnic style worship. Bob Jones University, once called the “Bastion of Faith”, has invited all that Lawrence is associated with into its halls and no doubt will give credence to Lawrence’s effeminate appearance, his advocacy for Black Lives Matter (a Marxist Terrorist organization that spreads hate and chaos), rocker style CCM and worship and will glorify a young man who though may be a pleasant and kind individual—is far from a Christian role model for Fundamental Christians to set before their youth as the model of Biblical orthodox Christianity. BJU should focus on setting before its student body men who have served the Lord Jesus Christ with a life of separation and holiness unto the LORD; men who have faithfully proclaimed the Gospel without bending or compromising at the whims of financial difficulty. However, BJU has chosen to present Lawrence as a role model after which its students should follow. BJU has shifted away from the conservative Bible principles upon which it was founded and has ran to embrace that which it stood against for almost a century.
BJU’s Director of Athletics Neal Ring has stated that he looks forward to hearing how Lawrence’s faith “allows him to balance his priorities and stay positive”. So BJU has told us it is more interested in hearing a liberal Christian (associated with BLM and Newspring) than standing on the Bible, the principles upon which it was founded and to deny the shame of lifting up an effeminite pop star for the sake of popularity points.
II Corinthians 11:14-16 – “Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?” When I attended BJU in 2007-11, I would have failed hair-check if hair overlapped my ears, yet now BJU has all but abandoned hair checks and proudly displays young men with longer hair dues. Apparently, now the hair of students is publicly invited to mimic BJU latest hero on display–the signature long haired Trevor Lawrence.
Conservative church leaders should immediately write BJU and express their concern and disappointment, but do not expect to be heeded. BJU, more specifically, Dr. Steve Pettit is set on a course to abandon the Fundamentalist origin of the university and to embrace the religious left of New Evangelicism and proceed full steam ahead on the path of ecumenicism. BJU is not shocking anyone anymore. BJU’s aim is in the open and they do not blush.
BJU has embraced the social Gospel and one of political correctness. They have joined arm in arm with the Southern Baptist Convention, New Evangelicals, Global Warming, Martin Luther King (a womanizing communist), and now Black Lives Matter, Marxism and effeminacy. As John said in chapter 12, verse 43: “For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.”
While there is always the possibility of repentance and returning to the old paths, BJU and Pettit have made it repeatedly clear that they are more interested in enrollment numbers (which are failing) than obedience to the Word of God.
And after that? ...
That’s right. BJU cancelled Trevor Lawrence.

Like the first time: Like the first time was chosen over Bo Peep Bo Peep for determining the title track of absolute first album through a public poll, however CCM went ahead with bo peep bo peep as the title song and promoted it. Must say that was a smart move but like the first time hits differently. It’s something so sensual, so soothing about this music and the singing that you cannot get over it. Also, this song was produced the Bang Si Hyuk! need I say more?
Cry Cry: “Cry Cry” peaked at number 1 on the Billboard Korea K-Pop Hot 100 and won two consecutive first-place awards on M! Countdown. The music video for “Cry Cry” was noted for having One billion Korean won production budget and a thirty-minute drama story line starring Cha Seungwon and Ji Changwook.
I go crazy because of you: T-ara held their comeback performance on the same day as the sng’s release on M! Countdown, and won several music awards for “Neo Ttaemune Michyeo” over the course of their promotions: two consecutive Mutizen wins on Inkigayo and one first place award on M! Countdown.
Roly poly: The single became a breakthrough success, becoming the top-grossing and highest-selling single of 2011 in South Korea with over four digital million units sold.
Sugar free: This album included an English version of “Sugar Free”, which was the first song T-ara had recorded in English, which charted at No. 4 at Billboard’s World Digital Single and No. 12 at Billboard’s World Album.
Lovey dovey: T-ara did the zombie concept before it was cool.
Day by day: The second part of the music video was released in August, 2012. The song reached number 2 on the Gaon Weekly Digital Singles Chart and the Billboard Korea K-Pop Hot 100.It was announced on June 12, 2012, as a 20-minute music video drama starring the group themselves in a science-fiction setting.
Number 9:The EP reached number 2 on the South Korean Gaon Weekly Albums Chart and number 45 on Japan’s Oricon Weekly Albums Chart as a Korean import. The single “Number 9” reached number 5 on the Gaon Weekly Digital Chart and number 4 on Billboard’s Korea K-Pop Hot 100.
Sexy love: Two singles, “Sexy Love” and “Najgwa Bam (Love All)” (낮과 밤, “Day and Night”), were released from the album on the same day, with “Sexy Love” peaking at number four on the Gaon charts and number three on the Billboard Korea K-pop Hot 100 charts.

Just randomly watched T-ara first win and couldn't control my tears. They serioulsly deserve the best and also the stage!!! It had 2pm, snsd, after-school and not to forget song joongki was the host! It's so heartwarming to see 2nd gen support each other and genuinely congratulating each and no awkward interactions between the boy groups and girl groups ( tb to the time when they were all really good friends) and yuri randomly dancing bo peep bo peep when t-ara was giving out their thank you message and seohyun hugging soyeon giving that feeling out that she's come so far and that she deserves it. It's just too beautiful. Also can I talk about the cute hankbok-dress which is something that needs to be acknowledged that kpop girl groups likeT-ara wore it even before the new gen fans claim it to have originated from their fave girl groups 🌞.

~ Super Mario 64: No ‘!’ Box Run Progress ~
idk how many of my followers actually know/care about sm64, but i figured i’d post about this anyway!
there’s just something about the whole aesthetic of sm64 - be it the worlds, the gameplay - that just keeps me coming back to the 20+ year old game, so this time i decided to give myself a challenge i’ve dubbed the no box run.
‘what is the no box run?’ you may or may not be asking...
basically, a no box run is simply a challenge i gave myself: try to finish the game and defeat bowser with 70 stars or, if that’s too easy, try to just get as many stars as i possibly can without ever opening any of these ‘!’ boxes.
meaning no special caps at all, and any items that come in these boxes, in some cases including stars, are completely off limits.
and now that i’ve explained the challenge, i’ll explain my current progress at 40 stars, including a very unexpected setback encountered that made all but one star in one course inaccessible!
here’s my score card, and i’ll also explain how difficult each course has been:
1. BOB: this course is pretty much 99% doable without any box bashing. mario wings to the sky, while i haven’t done it in this save file yet, is pretty easily done without the wing cap. the only unachievable star here is shoot to the isle in the sky, as the star is contained in a box.
2. WF: one of the few courses that can be done 100% in this challenge, all that’s left for me is the caged star and the one in the wall, neither of which require any boxes.
3. JRB: now here’s where things get a little... complicated. right off the bat, you can’t collect the first star, plunder in the sunken ship. i was reminded the hard way when i went to get it and found it chilling in, you guessed it, a ‘!’ block. but the issues in JRB don’t stop there, my friend, because with this star off limits, so goes 3 other stars! yup! the eel will not come out to play, you can’t get the last two red coins without the ship (and if you’re thinking to use the cannon, NOPE, because the red bob omb isn’t there. maybe because the ship didn’t spawn?) and try as i did, and peach pie almighty did i try, but without being able to get the last two red coins or open up the yellow block by the start, i only managed to get a sad 97 before i gave up. taking away blast to the stone pillar (due to the cannon issue mentioned as well as it being in a box) leaves only treasure in the cove and through the jet stream. (and that’s gonna be a pain to get on it’s own.) whew, JRB really got done dirty here...
4. CCM: honestly not much to say here. might be the course least affected by this challenge, although i did have some unrelated troubles with getting the snowman’s body to their head...
WHERE ARE YOU GOING, ASSHOLE, I’M CLEARLY STANDING OVER HERE!!!
errm, excuse me, i got a little distracted there...
5. BBH: the only star here that’s inaccessible is eye to eye in the secret room, since it requires the invisible cap to get into afaik.
6: HMC: everything kosher here. i’m pretty sure all the stars here are available, i just haven’t gotten the 8 red coin and 100 coin stars yet. (i like to get those two in the same trip, makes things easier...)
7: LLL: not much to say, mostly because i haven’t done much here yet. sorry LLL, you’ll get your dues here soon, promise!
8: SSS: haven’t done much here either, but i already noticed a big issue concerning stand tall on the four pillars and the 8 red coins. one of the pillars happens to be over a cool pit of quick sand that will swallow mario up in a second if he touches it, and any attempts to jump onto the pillar, via either triple jump or long jump, just bounces him off it and into his grave so there’s that.
9: DDD. like LLL, i’ve done next to nothing here. only went here so far to unlock bowser in the fire sea. sorry DDD!
and that’s about it for now! next time i’ll try to give more attention to LL and SSS, and since i left off on unlocking the 2nd floor, i’ll be sure to give those places a look too! big thanks to anyone who read through this whole ramble, i’m open to anyone who might have any knowledge on SM64 to offer tips or just infodump with me! see ya next time!

Week 10

To conclude week 10 in AERO 307 we presented the work we did for Danny on the construction of his Ahmed Body wind tunnel models. It was a very hands-on lab with various applications to wind tunnel testing. Above you will see my team presenting the Ahmed Body to the rest of the Class.
1) In the beginning of class, before taking Experimental Aerodynamics 307, I was aware a low-pressure region spawns when an object travels through a fluid with some velocity. My understanding of the wake was purely theoretical, but my awareness and true acknowledgment of a wake region was cemented when we tested the NACA 4412 infinity wing the wind tunnel. We used a pitot tube attached to the traverse to measure the pressure behind the infinity wing. With the data collected we were able to see the pressure graph corresponding to the physical infinity wing. I now understand what and how a wake is formed. I really enjoyed the infinity drag lab.
2) One thing that still confuses me how we are able to keep the flow of attached over some object to reduce drag but at the same time we are causing turbulence which consequently causes drag. I understand that when we trip the flow but what exactly is being re-energized the boundary layer or are we reducing the energy of the flow over the object so that some of the dynamic energy of is redirected in other directions so that the boundary layer can be kept smaller? I have some understanding but I am still slightly confused on exactly how the flow stays attached.
3) My highlight for 307 is when we were able to make up our own experiment. The reason being that we were able to experiment on some of the things we found interesting. Bob and I wanted to use the water tunnel and simultaneously test submarines that we were interested. Our experiment incorporated CAD design, CFD using Star-CCM+, water tunnel experience, and the experience to present our test results. This Lab was the first time I felt like I was doing new research as an engineer.
4) My least favorite part of this class was at the very end when we were assigned to work with a graduate. It wasn’t the fact that we had to work for someone a graduate, but merely how as an engineer my team’s idea were shut down and denied. To elaborate on what I mean, we gave about five different assembly jigs that would complete the objective, but the graduate didn’t like them so we were forced to execute the project his way. I can say that this may be how it really is in the industry so in a way I am grateful and understanding of the headache my team went through to comply with the customers request.
5) My future in the Aerospace will consist in the structure side. I do plan on continuing my career in the aeronautics but with a concentration in structures. I enjoyed this class ver much though.
As a conclusion to this class, I am very satisfied with the amount of work we did and can and will confidently say that the title Experimental Aerodynamics is exactly what the course encompasses. Thank you!

Jackie O's granddaughter is basically her twin

In recent years, Rose has made a name for herself due to her brains, talents, and jaw-dropping resemblance to her grandmother.
In March 2016, the Internet flew into a tizzy after catching the web series End Times Girls Club, which co-stars Rose Kennedy Schlossberg. Schlossberg is the daughter of designer Edwin Schlossberg and Caroline Kennedy—the only surviving child of President John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. In fact, the two look so much alike that major publications such as the New York Post have dubbed her "Jackie 2.0." Let's learn more about this rising star.

According to the New York Post, Rose was named after her great-grandmother, Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy. The actual name was reportedly selected by Jackie, which many thought ironic, considering Jackie and the elder Rose supposedly hated each other. "The old bat's about 100 years old, so let's give her some respect," Jackie reportedly told press secretary Pierre Salinger at the time of Schlossberg's birth.

Grandma Jackie would go on to play a very large role in Schlossberg's upbringing, accompanying her to Central Park, museums, and even a school field trip. "Jackie, who lived just a few blocks away from the Schlossbergs on the Upper East Side, saw Rose basically every day and doted on her," Kennedy biographer Christopher Andersen revealed (via the New York Post). "Jackie knew it was important to sow the seeds of good behavior early on, and she tried to do that in the final years of her life. It was a mission for her."

Like millions of Americans, the death of John F. Kennedy, Jr.—who died in a plane crash alongside his wife, Carolyn Bessette Kennedy, in 1999—had a profound impact on his niece. In fact, she took her uncle's death so hard, it reportedly began to take a toll on her health. "Rose withdrew after John's death," a Kennedy family member said, according to the New York Post. "He'd been like a father to her. She went into a six-month depression during which she barely spoke to anyone. She stopped eating—she must have lost 30 pounds." The family member went on to say that Schlossberg's "saving grace" was the trust funds that made her a millionaire by the time she finished high school.

Although she's part of one of the most famous political dynasties in U.S. history, Rose doesn't appear to be aspiring for a career on Capitol Hill. According to the New York Post, she barely engaged in politics while at Harvard. "I'm sorry to say that that Rose has not been an active member during my time here," a spokesperson for the Harvard College Democrats told the paper. Rose reportedly even advised her mom not to run for the U.S. Senate, telling Caroline, "You're above it. You ought to quit," she said, according to the Post. Rose did dip her toe into political waters by donating $350 to Barack Obama's 2008 campaign and by volunteering for Democrat Alan Khazei's losing campaign for U.S. Senate in 2009, reported Good Housekeeping. CCM reported in November 2012 that both Rose and her mother, Caroline, were sued after a car accident in Los Angeles. The man who filed the suit claimed Rose crashed her Chevy Impala into his Honda Civic in August of that year. According to CCM, the purported victim claimed "he suffered serious physical and mental injuries as a result of Rose's 'negligent' and 'careless' actions behind the wheel," and asked for more than $25,000 in damages. Caroline reportedly wasn't in the vehicle at the time of the accident but was named in the suit because she owned the car. The victim's lawyer told CCM a settlement was reached before the case went to court, saying, "Everybody, including the Kennedys, and their insurance company, were very caring, understanding, ethical, and honest."

Former Kennedy speechwriter and family friend Arthur Schlesinger Jr. has referred to Rose as the next Kennedy family matriarch. "Rose was and is the leader of the pack—her opinion counts. She is highly regarded within the ever-expanding circle, he said (via the New York Post). "In many respects, she is the face and future of the clan." In 2014, Washington Post reporter Ed O'Keefe tweeted that Rose was appointed by President Obama to serve on the board at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, which was named after her family. "My grandparents believed that American civilization had come of age, and they transformed the White House into a stage for our nation's greatest performing artists," she said at a 2014 event commemorating the center's expansion project. "They recognized that in order to demonstrate our full commitment to freedom, democracy, and the human spirit, our nation's capital needed a world-class performing arts center. After my grandfather's death, my grandmother, and my great aunts and uncles worked tirelessly to build and sustain this Center, and my generation is proud to continue their commitment to excellence." From their dark, wavy hair and signature red lips to their large eyes and gentle smirk, the resemblance between Rose and the former first lady is undeniable. "Rose looked like Jackie, perhaps even a bit sexier looking, though not as refined," a former school teacher told Kennedy biography David Heymann (via the New York Post). She has the dark good looks of a Bouvier and the sensibility of a Kennedy." Some suggest she even inherited her grandmother's understated spunk as well. In August 2009, while riding in a motorcade to her Uncle Ted Kennedy's funeral, Rose reportedly flipped off the paparazzi from the limo. Plenty of pundits saw the gesture and dissected its meaning, and some drew a direct connection to Jackie O. "It could have been simply a 21-year-old's reaction to the glare of media scrutiny at a difficult time," said the New York Post. "But it was also a subconscious nod to her grandmother, who had been in the habit of grumbling, early on in her marriage, about riding in limos with her campaigning husband."

As one would expect from a Kennedy, Rose is a total brainiac. She enrolled in Harvard University in 2006, where she earned a bachelor's degree in English, attended film courses, and took up an interest in fashion, according to the New York Post. After graduating from Harvard in 2010, Rose went back to school to earn a master's from the Interactive Telecommunications Program at New York University in 2013, reported Good Housekeeping. "She did extremely well in school, evidenced by the fact that she wound up at Harvard," a teacher at the posh Brearley School in New York City said of Schlossberg (via the New York Post). "Although I suppose you could argue that every Kennedy winds up at Harvard—or its equivalent." The names "Lindsay Lohan" and "Harvard University" may go together like oil and water, but apparently, there was a time when the troubled actress was actually considering going to the top-ranked university. According to the New York Post, Rose was spotted giving a tour of Harvard to Lohan and her then-girlfriend, Samantha Ronson, in 2009. After the tour, Rose went on a double-date with Lohan and Ronson at a high-end Boston nightclub. Schlossberg's date was Incubus guitarist Mike Einziger. "They all came in together, and they all left together," a representative for the nightclub told the New York Post. "Samantha was spinning, but Lindsay hung out with Mike and Rose. I couldn't tell if were together, but it seemed like they were pretty close." Despite the celebrity fanfare of that night, the tab said it was a rare night out for Rose, who otherwise kept a very low profile while attending Harvard. Rose made headlines in 2016 when she launched a web series called End Times Girls Club. The project, in which she co-stars, offers funny takes on what girls should do if the world comes to an end. "It came up as a response to seeing the way that New York responded to Hurricane Sandy, and how people were grossly underprepared—specifically, girls in damsel in distress mode," she told Mashable. "I thought it would be interesting to create this world where girls have to be survivalists without compromising their cute factor." The series' episode titles range from the likes of "Apocalypse Makeover" to "Compass in a Cocktail" and "How to Make Fire." Read the full article

CANTLON'S CORNER: HOCKEY NEWS AND NOTES OFF SEASON VOLUME 12
BY: Gerry Cantlon, Howlings HARTFORD, CT - The world is slowly approaching normalcy. Sports news is becoming more and more prevalent as ALL sports are moving closer and closer towards returning into the daily lives of its fans. AHL AWARDS The American Hockey League announced that forward Gerry Mayhew of the Iowa Wild has been voted the winner of the Les Cunningham Award as the AHL’s Most Valuable Player for the 2019-20 season. Mayhew scored a league-best 39 goals – the most by an AHL skater since 2011-12 – and finished third with 61 points in 49 games, leading Iowa to the team's best regular-season record in franchise history. 10 of Mayhew’s goals were game-winners and logging 11 multiple-goal performances, including a natural hat trick in a 3-0 win over the San Diego Gulls on Feb. 14. Mayhew tied a franchise mark with a ten-game scoring streak from December 12th to January 10th. Mayhew earned CCM/AHL Player-of-the-Month honors for January after he totaled 12 goals and 19 points in 11 contests. Among Mayhew’s 39 tallies were 13 power-play goals and two shorthanded markers. He also led the Wild in plus/minus rating at plus-16. Iowa was 26-7-1-2 in games when Mayhew registered a point. Mayhew represented Iowa at the 2020 AHL All-Star Classic in Ontario, CA, and was voted a Second Team Left-Wing AHL All-Star for 2019-20. He also made his National Hockey League debut this season, notching two goals in 13 games with Minnesota – including a goal in his first appearance on October 15th in Toronto. 2020-21 SEASON When it starts, where it starts still remains to be seen at the NHL or AHL level. The NHL has agreed-upon a framework to return to play, but several major details are still being worked out. While questions remain how it will all play out, signs point to a resumption of hockey sometime this summer. The AHL season start will not be in October, with the most likely start being some point in November. The October 9th scheduled date for the home opener for the Hartford Wolf Pack is almost certainly going to be rescheduled. One of the many side issues is the pending expiration of player contracts at the end of June but of the contracts of teams' hockey staff at the end of the month. “They’re running out of runway here and a lot of people are in limbo,” one source said. "It isn’t only players, its all the hockey ops people, GM, Assistant GM, Head Coaches, assistants, equipment managers, trainers, and scouts are all sitting around wondering a lot about this. What I’m hearing is the likelihood is that they will slide contracts forward say 60-90 days, then, announce a Draft Day and then a free agency period. The other big issue is, of course, the salary cap and what we're hearing is a freeze on the cap at this year’s level ($82.1M) for the next two-to-three years until the economy recovers. In principle, both sides are happy. They have areas of interest they want to clarify moving forward, but a ten-year extension for the CBA is being bandied about. It's in discussion but nothing's finalized.” The business of hockey is a large and expansive one with many pieces of the financial puzzle still to be resolved. PLAYER MOVEMENT A big coaching opportunity has opened up after the Los Angeles Kings announced on Saturday that they will not renew the contract of Ontario Reign head coach, Mike Stothers, whose contract is set to expire on June 15th. Stothers has led the Kings’ affiliate for the last six seasons, including five with the Reign (2015-20) where he earned the Louis A.R. Pieri Award as the AHL’s outstanding coach and won a Calder Cup championship with the Manchester Monarchs in 2014-15. “We appreciate everything Mike has contributed to the organization,” said Rob Blake, Vice President and General Manager of the Kings in a press release. “He has played an important role in helping develop our players and we want to thank him for his years of service and guiding us to a Calder Cup Championship in 2015." San Diego's Chris Wideman heads to the Torpedo Novgorod (Russia-KHL) and Frank Corrado of the Belleville Senators signs with MODO (Sweden-Allsvenskan). Lukáš Radil, who split the year in San Jose between the AHL Barracuda and the NHL Sharks signs with Spartak Moscow (Russia-KHL) while Carter Camper of the Utica Comets has his eyes on Sweden or perhaps Russia for next year. 23 players have now signed in Europe. 16 of the 31 AHL teams have lost at least one player to a European signing. Ex-Pack, Kodie Curran, turned down a KHL deal with Avangard Omsk (Russia) to sign a two-year, one-way deal at a $1M/year with the Anaheim Ducks. He will likely be in San Diego to start the season. He played with Rogle BK (Sweden-SHL) last year earning high marks as the top defenseman in the SHL and the Golden Helmet Award as the regular season MVP. Nice story on Curran in the Calgary Herald. Read it HERE. A pair of ex-Wolf Pack players were swapped for one another in a two-for-one deal in Russia. Defenseman, Alexei Bereglazov, winner of two Gagarin Cup titles, and forward, Ilya Kablukov, depart Mettallurg Magnitogorsk (Russia-KHL) for Avangard Omsk. Going back the other way in the deal is right-wing, Taylor Beck, an ex-Sound Tiger. Ryan Verbeek, the nephew of former Hartford Whaler and New York Ranger, and current Detroit Red Wing Assistant GM, Pat Verbeek, returns to France to play with Elite Magnus League HC Briancon next season. He split this season with Pensacola and Huntsville of the SPHL. Calvon Boots of the American International College (AHA) leaves the Springfield, MA school for the Rochester Institute of Technology (AHA) in the fall. AIC goalie, Zacharias Skog completes his four years and signs a pro deal back home with Vasterviks IK (Sweden-SHL). His movement makes 31 college players signing in Europe. Goalie, Ryan Edquist, after just 21 games in four years with the Boston College Eagles (HE) has grad transferred back home to the Minnesota State-Mankato Mavericks (NCHC). He will be the backup to next season's likely Hobey Baker finalist, Dryden McKay, who had a 1.31 GAA, tops in the nation in his sophomore year. He is the son of one-time Whaler, Ross McKay. Edquist's transfer makes for 16 Division I grads moving to new schools. Andrew Mancini, (Canterbury Prep-New Milford) drafted as the first-ever draft pick by the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks in the NAHL Supplemental Draft has opted to sign with the P.A.L. Islanders (NCDC) which is closer to his Long Island home for next season. Cam MacDonald (Selects Academy of South Kent Prep) who was a Boston College (HE) commit for 2022-23 has elected to head home and signed with the Saint John Sea Dogs (QMJHL). He spent last season with the Sioux Falls Stampede (USHL). Max Coyle becomes the fourth University of Alabama-Huntsville (WCHA) player to transfer from the program that was slated to be eliminated. He heads to Bowling Green (NCHC). Read that story, next. TALBOT, A SAVE AND A BEAUTY The University Alabama-Huntsville Chargers were on the verge of extinction until a former Wolf Pack goaltender got involved. In just ten days' time, the Chargers' program received an astounding $500K in donations allowing the University to continue to have their team play in the WCHA conference. The conference formally reinstated the program on Wednesday. The conference is losing seven schools after the 2020-21 season as they form the new CCHA conference. UAH may apply so they have a more travel-friendly schedule according to now-former head coach Mike Corbett, who stepped down on Wednesday, along with Assistant Coach, and long time AHL player, Gavin Morgan. The other assistant coach Lance West was named Interim Head Coach. West played at UA-H in the early 1990s, three-of-the-four years at Division II. He was an assistant coach for ten years after graduating before spending the next eleven seasons at the University of Alaska-Fairbanks Nanooks (WCHA), the first ten of them as an assistant coach. He returned to the program two years ago. A fundraising campaign to support the continuation of the Alabama-Huntsville hockey program was successful in raising the critical monetary gifts from numerous individual donors, according to UA-H Athletic Director, Cade Smith in a story on AL.com. The dollars were matched by two separate gifts of $125,000 each. The gifts came from long-time hockey supporters, Taso Sofikitis, and Sheldon Wolitski, who played on the school’s Division II national championship team. The total amount of more than $750,000 in private dollars will allow the Chargers to continue to compete at the Division I level during the 2020-21 season. This total philanthropic contribution is the largest athletic campaign contribution in the history of UA-H. One of the school's biggest program supporters and who helped spearhead the drive was its most famous former Charger, and current Calgary Flames and ex-Wolf Pack netminder, Cam Talbot. He took to his own Twitter page to express why people should donate to the cause. “This program gave me a chance that nobody else would. Without my time spent @UAHuntsville, I would not have got the opportunity to be where I am today. I want those opportunities to continue for more young players for years to come!” Talbot was named to the advisory board. In addition to the private dollars, UAH president, Darren Dawson, committed money from the university to cover the balance of the hockey team’s operational costs during the upcoming season. “We are thankful from the loyal support that has been demonstrated this week by the fans and alumni of Charger hockey,” said Dawson in a press release statement. “We are hopeful that this support will translate into a sustainable funding model that will allow the UAH hockey program to rise again to high levels of success,” “The university is fully committed to the upcoming season,” Smith added. “The university will work with the supporters of the UAH hockey program and a newly formed hockey advisory board to develop a plan that will allow the Chargers to thrive in the 2020-21 season and beyond. UAH is committed to building a world-class Division I hockey program with a permanent conference home that will allow the Chargers to continue past the 2020-21 season.” The school has already allocated money and cleared space for a brand-new, on-campus arena before the pandemic hit looking to take the Chargers from the larger, off-campus site, the Van Braun Center, which is the home of the local SPHL team, the Huntsville Havoc, to a more manageable facility. The WCHA conference will be strengthened and could become the first fully functioning West-Coast-based Conference as they are likely to add Arizona State, whose brand new on-campus arena is expected to be ready in 2021. The two Alaska schools in Fairbanks and Anchorage are likely to merge in the near future because of state budget cuts. The conference will likely then add other major West Coast Division I colleges and universities such as Los Angeles-based USC, and UCLA, Colorado-based, Air Force, who will likely switch from the AHA conference, and perhaps UNLV, and Utah, who are currently ACHA Division I club programs. Despite the good financial news, the Chargers program lost another player to transfer when Bailey Newton announced he will leave after his sophomore season and head back to Canada and the University of Western Ontario Mustangs (OUAA) QMJHL The last Canadian major junior Draft is this weekend. The QMJHL Draft will be done remotely for the first time with the first round scheduled for Friday on the league’s YouTube channel. Rounds 2-14 will be on Saturday starting at 9 am with selection results on the league website. The QMJHL U.S. Draft will be held on Monday, June 8th with results on the league's website. The states with eligible players in the US Draft are from are; Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. A strong rumor is that the QMJHL will start it's 2020-21 season on October 1st, regardless of what the other two major junior leagues, the OHL and WHL, do. In part, it will be because they have no US-based franchises. The only issue will be European players' participation based on provincial and directives from Ottawa regarding COVID-19 and the US border for American players which of course by mutual consent is still closed. “The feeling is they want to get back to a regular order of business starting a month later is OK, but they want to get back on track,” commented a reliable hockey source with knowledge of the situation. Having fans in the buildings are necessary for franchises to survive, but Health Canada will have the final say on when the puck is dropped. The NAHL has pushed its Draft Day to July 21st. The CHL Import Draft that normally takes place after the NHL Draft and no date has been set for either. COLLEGE HOCKEY The Dartmouth head coaching opening was filled with a familiar name to followers of Connecticut college hockey as Reid Cashman, who spent four years as a defenseman with the Quinnipiac Bobcats (ECACHL) in their rise to national prominence, was named the new head coach for the Dartmouth Big Green (ECACHL) on Monday. He becomes the 22nd coach in school history and replaces the all-time winningest coach, Bob Gaudet, who stepped down after 23 years year in the top spot. “I feel like I have been given the opportunity of a lifetime to be the head coach of the Dartmouth men’s hockey program,” Cashman said in a press release statement. “For 114 years, Dartmouth has competed at the highest level and has produced Olympians, All-Americans, and NHL players. Along with the great history on the ice, Dartmouth College has been one of the finest institutions in the world for more than 250 years. It is truly an honor to be given this prestigious opportunity.” Cashman has been on a fast track professionally. He was an assistant coach for two years with the Hershey Bears (AHL) and has spent the last two seasons as an assistant coach with the Washington Capitals, with his portfolio being the Caps powerplay and defense. He also coordinated their development camps and participation in the Traverse City, MI annual prospects tournament. He won’t start this new position until the NHL playoffs for the Capitals concludes, whenever that may be. Cashman played 151 games for the Hamden-based university. In 151 career games, Cashman tallied 23 goals and still holds the school record of 125 assists for 242 total points. He was an NCAA (East First-Team, All-American in his senior year in 2006-07. He was a second-team honoree in his junior in 2003-2004. In Quinnipiac’s last season in the AHA conference, he was named to the First Team and led the conference in scoring. He was named Player of the Year. In addition, Cashman was a Hobey Baker Top 10 finalist before the Bobcats were elevated to the ECACHL conference. Cashman played five years of minor professional hockey with his last year in North America winning an ECHL Kelly Cup championship with the Cincinnati Cyclones in 2010. Cashman’s last pro year was spent in Austria skating for EHC Linz in Erste Bank Eishockey League (EBEL). The Red Wing, MN native was undrafted but played in the AHL for Toronto, Wilkes Barre/Scranton, and Milwaukee. In the ECHL, he played for Columbia, Wheeling, and Cincinnati After retiring from active playing, he returned to Quinnipiac and became an assistant coach to Rand Pecknold for five years (2011-2016) and went to two Frozen Four Finals. Quinnipiac lost to first to their conference, and in-state rival, Yale University, in a 4-0 shutout in 2013 and again in 2016 losing 5-1 to North Dakota. Thomas Maia is another Division I player heading to the Canadian Junior A ranks while still retaining his NCAA eligibility. Maia, who suffered a broken fibula without playing a game for R.I.T. (AHA), heads to the Victoria Grizzlies (BCHL) after he was traded from the Oakville Blades (OJHL). Speaking of Yale University, they announced its 2020 freshmen class of seven which includes head coach Keith Allain's son, Nik (North Branford/Taft Prep) from Boston (NCDC). He was a UCONN commit at one point. Ryan Stevens joins his brother Luke who is already with the Bulldogs. The boys' father is Kevin Stevens, the former NHL'er with the New York Rangers. Stevens, the elder, won two Stanley Cups with the Pittsburgh Penguins. The other announced players include Reilly Connors (Madison/Loomis Chaffe), and goalie Nathan Reid, from Sioux Falls (USHL). LIU named its first head coach last week, and this week their first batch of LIU Sharks recruits with the first-ever recruit signed being Jordan DiCicco of the Brooks Bandits (AJHL). He was followed by nine others including, Connor Szmul, from the Chippewa (WI) Steel (NAHL), Daine Dubois of the Bonnyville Pontiacs (AJHL), Robert McCollum Muskegon Lumberjacks (USHL), no relation to ex-Wolf Pack Tom McCollum. Also, Nolan McElhaney, who missed all of last year with an ACL injury, transfers from the University of New Hampshire Wildcats (HE), and a second Division I transfer, Mitch Meek, from Michigan Tech (WCHA). Madoka Suzuki of the Kemptville 73’s (CCHL), Marty Westhaver of the Victoria Grizzlies (BCHL), Aaron White of the Amarillo Bulls (NAHL), and Gustav Muller of the Madison Capitols (USHL). TRIVIA What was Wayne Gretzky's last non-99 uniform number? He wore number 26 for three games with the Peterborough Petes. Last month was the 25th anniversary of the Quebec Nordiques' last game. It was at MSG against the Rangers in the Stanley Cup playoffs. The Rangers won the series in six games with the last goal in Nordiques history was scored by Peter Forsberg. The Nordiques were the first WHA team that merged with the NHL that was moved. Read the full article
