The BCCI has declared that Kohli as well as Gambhir are guilty of a Level 2 offense and has imposed an amount equal to 100 percent match fee on both of the players. The suggestion came from the captain of one team that in the event of a late conclusion of a game the entire team had to pay the penalty collectively, however, it was rejected.

This is how the system of fines works in IPL The process is as follows: At the conclusion of every season the BCCI issues an invoice for all fines imposed on teams and the franchise then pays the fine. Whether to subtract it from a certain player’s salary is an internal decision of the team. However, when the franchise is taking responsibility in many cases, there is a sense that fines aren’t being used as deterrents. Most of the people made a suggestion to Kohli as well as Gambhir to end the word war between them.
