I SOLO'ED SPIRE OF THE WATCHER IN DESTINY 2!!!! ✨🙌😤✨

Here's my adventurer's notes, maybe they'll be useful to someone out there!

(Also, this will all be assuming you know how to already do Spire of the Watcher, but I can make a guide for the basics of that too if you need! I can even take you thru myself sometime if you're curious!)

Intro Encounter: Entering the Bunker (Easy) - I did this all on my Warlock. For this first encounter I used Nova Warp for quick and easy/panic add clear, those new Briarbinds that let you pick up your child of the old gods, Leviathan's Breath for taking out the 4 cyclops that spawn on top of the cliffs, and Veles-X, which is Seraph Season's ritual weapon that has Repulsor Brace and Golden Tricorn - I ran with the Devour aspect for survivability, and of course Child of the Old Gods - For fragments I would really recommend the one that gives devour from picking up orbs/breaches, the one where finishers make you invisible, and the one where killing a volatile target drops a void breach - Really this encounter wasn't too much of an issue for me, as I could just use a finisher to go invisible at any point I was about to die, and my child of the old gods was sucking the life out of everything to the point that I hardly had to add clear. If you're struggling here, consider running helm mods that drop orbs on weapon multikills, as those will act like health packs that instantly give you devour - VERY VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: I learned that supplicants ONLY SPAWN ONCE YOU'VE COMPLETED AN ARC NODE!!! If you get all 4 of them to the last node, then complete them all at the same time, the encounter finishes before they can fully spawn in and become a problem

Second Encounter: Ascending the Spire (Easy) - Solar Warlock this time. If you get Heat Rises, it becomes literally SOOOO EASY to hit all the different nodes that you have to parkour to shoot normally - Ignitions will wipe out ALL the adds very easily - DON'T KILL THE HYDRAS!!! They are annoying yes, but killing them spawns supplicants, it's not worth it. (If you're in the air, their bad aim means they hardly ever hit you! Most of the damage you take from them is when they land shots on the ground close to you, so being off the ground negates that!) Third Encounter: Akelous, The Siren's Current (Difficult) - I'm sure there's better ways of doing this, but I did this by running Chaos Reach with the Geomag boots for DPS, the Manticore of all things for survivability, and my favorite ever crafted Stasis sniper, Thoughtless, with Overflow and Focused Fury - My overflow sniper has 16 rounds in the mag, which is enough to take out every single eye at the start of DPS and ALSO miss a couple of times, I highly recommend it - ALWAYS TAKE THE TIME TO TAKE OUT ALL HARPIES IN THE ARENA AS WELL AS EVERY OTHER ENEMY ON THE SIDE YOU'RE ABOUT TO START DPS ON - It doesn't matter too much what heavy you use because Chaos Reach + Geomag lasts so so long that you have hardly any time to do any damage beyond that. I actually ran an add clear grenade launcher instead just to keep me safe - THIS IS AN ENDURANCE RUN. Stay safe by sectioning off different sides of enemies so only a few can shoot at you at a time. The minotaurs have really long ranged lobbing which is always avoidable but will kill you if you don't. Run helm mods that drop orbs with weapon multikills and the 2 of the boots mods that gives you health on orb pickups and you should have no problem staying alive even when you've got nothing for survival other than that. Fourth Encounter: "IT'S GOING PROMPT CRITICAL!!!" (Easy) - I swapped back to my solar build I used for ascending the spire and it was totally easy. If you need to, take the time to find all the 5 nodes before you start shooting them, and it becomes a lot easier. Remember that there's 1 node in the middle in that 3rd room, then two on the left and two on the right!

Fifth Encounter: Persys, Primordial Ruin (Hard) - You know it, you hate it, we've got supplicants all over the darn place, purposefully hiding behind things so you can't shoot them, not to mention the giant angry chicken always on your tail! BUT, I have a secret weapon that nobody would recommend that I think will do just the thing - USE TELESTO!!! Supplicants, if killed by fusion rifles, DON'T EXPLODE, and just disintegrate! But Telesto gets even better when you realize you can shoot the GROUND too! The supplicants like hiding in the bottom middle for when you go to open the door, but shooting a spread at the mouth of the opening they hide at means they all disintegrate right as they chase you! - I used those Briarbinds again, which helped HUGE amounts for the 2 hydras you have to kill, along with the continuous spawning adds inside the core when you're trying to do the puzzle. I would just say "Go cook!" and it would give me devour every few seconds as it sits in the middle of the spawn area and sucks up anything that spawns before it can really be a problem - I recommend using an anti-barrier primary weapon because of the hydras. It's so annoying having to sit and wait for the shield to spin back around otherwise, nobody's got time for that! - FOR DAMAGE: I used a lasting impression + cluster bombs Osprey, and the good old fashioned slowva bomb. To get Optimal DPS: First, you send out your child of the old gods, then you shoot it with the lasting impression rocket, reload, shoot it again, then nova bomb. If you do it right, all of those should hit before the boss leaves the weakness range of your void buddy - 1 shot of Telesto is enough to get the minotaurs down to finishable health, meaning you can go invis as you pick up the buff and run to start shooting nodes! And that's pretty much it!!! I never use guides for any of this stuff so I could be missing out on some things, but this is just what a little low leveled kobold was able to piece together! Biggest question about them mods is: are they on-hit like Arcane Fury or like that Split Flight mod?

a lot of em are on-kill conditionals. the on-hit ones require headshots instead (the arcanes are also on-kill)

which like, i guess makes snipers and single target damage weapons more viable but also DE refuses to acknowledge the issue that on-hit conditionals were what made melee so powerful and tries to give us shitty on-kill conditional mods instead

Gunblade Ivara (memeframe)

Another cycle through my list of sorely underused frames leads me to Ivara (whose jellyfish skin makes her besties with Yareli).

Looking at her Prowl ability, I saw that there was a headshot damage bonus that's active while Prowl is... that stacks with the normal headshot multiplier and I was like, "hmmm..."

I saw a couple if ways I could go with this, the first involving a primary or secondary; the second, a gunblade (fan blades may work too but I don't have any to test out and compare against my limited stock of gunblades). All builds tend to revolve around a more methodical, solo playstyle that can easily get lost when teaming.

Dashwire's Empowered Quiver augment is worth looking at for use in this playstyle as it grants you up to 100% critical damage (as long as you're using a weapon that can crit consistently)

Primary: ideally, we would want to start off with a silent weapon that can do headshots; like bows but if bows aren't your thing, throwing a Hush mod on your primary of choice is a good option. The reason for this (for primaries and secondaries) is that noisy guns bring unwanted attention and breaks the protection that Prowl's invisibility gives you.

If you have a high crit chanced weapon, that's what I would recommend leaning into but with all of the bonuses, it's not a deal breaker if you don't.

Primary Deadhead would go into your unlocked Primary Arcane Slot (giving you up to +360% damage and a +30% headshot multiplier)

Arcane Rage would take up one of your frame arcane slots (which would give you a 15% chance for +180% Primary damage for 24s)

For most weapons, modding for crit, raw damage and maybe some ammo mutation will do the trick but for Sniper Rifles, you have a few more options.

I would recommend that you consult the wiki first to learn about the combo bonus, different zoom bonuses and specialized mods (like Meticulous Aim for Vulkar that gives +105% to headshot damage) to review your options and find something that suits you but generally, the Target Acquired mod (+60% to headshot multiplier) should go in well for any sniper.

Secondary: same as above but with Secondary Deadhead and Arcane Precision (sans sniper mods).

Gunblades are a different beast altogether, as you'll be using melee-centric mods and Arcanes and the use of the stealth multiplier for big damage bonuses.

Gunblade shots may not break Prowl's invisibility but it will put mobs into alert status which will wipe away your stealth damage modifier unless you have an alternative way to incapacitate the mob or silence the weapon.

You could subsume in Banshee's Silence; both muting the weapon and stunning enemies wherever you go (more energy efficient and mobile; build for duration and negative range) or Wisp's Breach Surge that'll blind enemies and spread enhanced damage within a specific area (more damage opportunity; build for strength and range).

Silenced mobs tend to kneel making headshots more difficult to pull off

As for the weapon itself; crit and damage are your friends... Stropha is not (no headshot bonus). Arcane Fury for a 60% chance, on crit, to gain +180% melee weapon damage for 18s)

If your gunblade doesn't have great crit stats, you might consider utilizing a silenced, high crit primary weapon as a primer. Then you could go with Arcane Blade Charger (30% chance for +300% melee damage for 12s)

thinking about trying mm kotfet with kai since I have to do the expacs on him - he’s still at the SOR prelude atm, but when I get there, I might temporarily swap tank mods into his gear for the defense and borrow grit teeth from my actual guardian tank

fixed up thalia’s gear with the updated alacrity threshold for virulence (which I’m really loving how steady cull ticks and how fast the gcd is now) and augmented her set so she’s good to go for any potential mm fps + sm/hm ops that I want to run with her

respecced ana maite from fury to annihilation because….. oof. I feel like I’m just button smashing on fury, and I know I can handle anni’s rotation after playing watchman for a year and a half, so aside from amplifiers + 5 augments I’ve set to craft overnight, her gear will be all set as well

next min-maxing plans are for my AS commando, DF and sab slingers, and engineering sniper, but like. slowly. my legacy bank is not thriving right now lmao

also might work on getting cadrien a DOTF set so I can try offensive pvp tanking

saw on the game calendar that another double event is coming up at the end of the month so I’m going to get my balance sage (65) and AP powertech (70) leveled then grind valor on kai and cadrien since I want the battlemaster title for kai and cadrien is my pvp main

Cait LOVED just walking around with Sole, every-so-often fighting some raiders or supermutants or feral ghoul. But she never thought that on their way back, upon entering Sanctuary their Spouse would be standing right at the gate waiting for them, but this couldn’t be ? They were dead...Right? Sole took Cait to see their body...Cait was unimaginably scared and already heartbroken, would Sole leave her now? what would happen to them, to her and the person she loved so much, her rock. Sole was just as shocked as Cait was turning to Cait and then back to their presumed dead Spouse, but sole knew deep down it wasn’t them, couldn’t be. ‘’Cait, go home and wait for me can you? I promise ill be back soon’’ every bone in Cait’s body wanted to refuse but she didn’t she walked on and hated herself for it, she sat on the couch legs shaking, picking at her nails and biting at her fingers for what felt like forever until she heard the door open, she immediately turned her head to the sound, sole stood there eyes deep and murky Sole flopped down beside Cait with a sigh and then turned to her with a sad smile ‘’Synth...Shaun definitely has his father/mother’s sense of humour..’’ they laughed dryly and Cait swallows deeply ‘’So ..You just gonna throw me away then?’’ Sole raises an eyebrow at Cait ‘’Why in gods name would I do that Cait? ‘’ ‘’Synth or not they’re your husband/wife, that would mean more to you than me’’ Sole shook their head, pulling Cait close with a sigh ‘’It’s not like that, you’re what matters to me now alright?, I love you Cait’’ That was enough for cait, usually she would be flying off the rails, breaking things, beating on their spouse, but the way Sole said what they said she believed it.

Curie stood there, frozen. staring deep into the eyes of Soles ‘dead’ spouse as they looked around the room curiously, Sole had gone out for the day and Curie was just doing some housework when they casually walked in, she didn’t make a sound and they finally turned and jumped with a yelp, making curie scream out, then they both just looked at each other wide eyed and breathing heavy, she had half expected them to hurt her or yell at her or something for being in their spouses house, pictures of Curie and Sole were framed basically all over the house, it didn't take a genius to realise what was going on, but their spouse smiled at her ‘’Thank you, for taking care of Him/Her, when I was created I was just made to help...But I got free I wanted to know who ‘I’ was or who I am or who I was meant to be but I know now that I may be have the same body, same memories. But I assure you I’m not here to damage this relationship I may have the same body, but I’m a different person’’ Curie was pleased and looked back to them with a soft smile, maybe just maybe it would be okay ‘’Let me make you something to eat’’

Danse:

Danse wanted to take Shaun out for the day, teach him how to shoot and how to hunt. Sole had insisted that he and Shaun bond more and Danse NEVER says no to Sole, not that he’d want to Shaun was a lovely kid, a little soft around the edges but he’s sure he would...Uh grow? into a fine man

Danse had helped Shaun learn how to make his bullet land better from afar and he was doing quite well shot a mongrel dog from a few feet away behind a bush ‘’Congratulations soldier, Ill go bring it over maybe your mother/father will mount it, ‘Shaun’s first big kill’ you know that sounds pretty violent actually’’ Shaun laughed a little and took a seat in the ground Danse smiles at him and ruffles his hair ‘’Ill be right back buddy, you keep practicing’’ It wasn’t exactly to far and he made sure Shaun was still in his sights and that he could hear more practice shots but as he was walking back he noticed them stop he walked a little faster and then dropped the carcass ...Was that...Shaun was laughing and smiling up at the man/woman ‘’Danse! look! they must have made them too!’’ Danse was shocked and quite disturbed he watched as their spouse stood and turned to him, a slight smile on their face ‘’Shaun was telling me all about you, you’re raising him well’’ Danse felt his chest slowly untighten, the BOS paladin in him wanted to believe this was a way to hurt him, hurt Sole, but he knew he and this person were one and the same now, but it still stung so he just brushed them off and walked past them to check up on Shaun ‘’I wouldn’t hurt him, I know he’s not technically my son, but he’s still just a boy’’ for some reason the words ‘my son’ struck Danse hard in the chest and he stood ‘’I don’t know why you are here but you’d better leave, Sole has moved on. For good’’ Danse couldn’t control himself in that moment and the other just sighed ‘’I understand, but there is not were else for me, I thought, I think maybe Sole can help’’ Danse’s nostrils flare slightly ‘’You get your help but you stay away from my family alright’’

Hancock:

Hancock was back in Good Neighbour ‘Mayoral’ business and such, he was just enjoying a cigarette when his doors slammed open, Fahrenheit immediately jumps up to defend Hancock, when he then notices who it is ‘’What the-’’ ‘’You stay away from my wife/husband!’’ they yelled at him, practically spewing venom Fahrenheit turns to Hancock eyes wide as if to say ‘what the fuck I thought this guy/chick was dead!’ he just waves her away ‘’It alright, I’m sure we can talk about this like adults’’ he puts out his cigarette and stands slowly ‘’You stay away from my partner!, you...UGH what even are you’’ Hancock was used to people saying things like this so it didn't really affect him all that much ‘’Hey, don't piss me off are you forgettin’ I got guards here?, look I don't know why you’re so upset you’ve been ‘dead’ for years now, me and sole got a whole thing goin on’’ ‘’dead?...I’m not...dead!’’ Hancock tilts his head to the side, what the hell was going on here ‘’Sole saw you die friend, back in the vault’’ ‘’what?! no we got out and then the institute took us in but they went missing and they couldn’t fine them!, that's where I woke up and then someone destroyed it! after asking around I find out they’re this whole new person and that they’re with...You?!’’ Hancock knew then what was going on and sighed softly, leaning up against the wall ‘’hate to break it to ya buddy you’ve been dead for 60 plus years’’ he then chuckles ‘’come to think of it I think its 69 now...Damn I’m old’’ their spouse had had enough ‘’stop with this funny business! I was in the army/I was a lawyer!’’ Hancock groaned slightly and stood up straight ‘’You want proof? then deal with me for a little while and ill show you’’

it was...Long and tedious and frankly very awkward but they were finally in the vault, staring back at the ‘real’ spouse ‘’I...Oh my god I think I’m going to be sick..’’ Hancock nods in agreement ‘’Sole wanted to bury ya but things always get in the way, listen I never met to take em from ya but there’s some things you gotta know now’’

MacCready:

MacCready and Sole were having a great time together, watching Shaun and Duncan play when suddenly someone came running up to them embracing Sole quickly Mac gasped out and pulled out his sniper ‘’Oh honey! I’ve been looking everywhere for you I just woke up, somewhere I-I I don’t even know how to explain I...You look so different-’’ they then trail off and turn to Mac holding a gun to their head in shock ‘’Hey buddy put it away this is my wife/husband’’ Maccready looks at them and then Sole helplessly and then to Duncan and Shaun and then frowns deeply slowly holstering his weapon ‘’I get it...’’ he didn't know if he should laugh or cry, frankly he didn’t even know what he would have done if Lucy had come back would he go back? he loves Sole with his whole being but...’’No, I’m not’’ Sole blurts out ‘’What!?’’ both their spouse and Mac say at the same time in shock ‘’I’m married Nate/Nora, to Robert.’’ Sole takes MacCready’s arm and holds it, their spouse looks at them both in shock and Mac could have just melted at that moment, he was on cloud nine but his conscious spoke out ‘’But...Sole they’re your-’’ ‘’I don't care who they are or were or... whatever!, I saw them DIE so I know for a fact that its not...Really them anyway, even if they were that isn't me anymore, I love YOU’’ and here comes the heart eyes, he couldn't help but to be real smug about it either smirking slightly at their ex they look on in confusion, this was gonna take a lot of explaining

Preston:

It was during the raid on the institute people yelling and shooting, Preston was full of fury and love his newly found relationship with sole had really helped him gain a lot of confidence back in himself, they helped him become the man he wanted to be, well the man he always was and he couldn’t thank them enough for that really.

They ran together into a room guns at the ready to fire but when they walked in there was a man/woman holding up their arms 

Sole puts their weapon down in shock ‘’Preston...look’’ Preston takes a good look at them and his eyes widen he turns back to sole and they share a glance ‘’P-Please don’t kill me’’ they didn’t recognise him/her, Preston felt bad for feeling relief that they didn't but he was weighing the odds of Sole leaving him already ‘’Lets take them with us, get them to safety...Please I can’t think of them dying again, even if its not them’’ Sole whispered to Preston softly, the flawed part of him was anxious and wanted to leave them there, but the better part of him knew that wasn’t what he was like and he nodded at Sole, they went through the rest of the Institute wiping it clean at the end Sole had even seen the synth version of their son, which made them go into hysterics, sobbing and holding him close. It was a good and bad day for them both

but also relieving 

Preston strutted around Sanctuary later that day, anxious as hell, worrying if Sole wanted to leave him and start again with their son and husband/wife so when a hand came down on his shoulder he jumped ‘’Oh god preston im sorry didn’t mean to sneak up on you’’ Sole stared at him with gentle eyes and he could have fallen inlove all over again ‘’Babe I-’’ Preston sighed not being able to let out the words he wanted to, Sole shook their head slowly ‘’You’re an open book you know that? I love you, now come home Shaun needs to formally meet you’’ Sole kisses him softly on the nose and pats his chest, walking away slowly

and his worries all melted away

Piper:

Piper was writing a new paper, it was all she had seemed to do lately since sole was out on this strange railroad mission (if your sole didn’t side with the railroad/didn't join it or anything just change it to B.O.S or whatever you’d like) that they knew they would be gone a while for, it had been two weeks or so now and Piper missed them ...Like really bad, so she was writing paper after paper to try and keep her mind elsewhere, but resting up on their bed at Homeplate she just couldn’t tonight, she wondered if they were okay if they were eating or sleeping enough, if they were hurt. It was a lot to take and she wondered if she needed a cigarette 

but then the door squeaked open ‘’P? you here?’’ 

‘‘Blue!’‘ 

Piper jumped up excitedly and raced down the stairs squeezing Sole into a tight hug ‘’I missed you too Piper, but hey you better look at what I found’’ Piper was confused and slowly let go of Sole, her eyes widen when she’s met face to face with an exact copy of their ex, she knew it couldn’t have been them, because sole buried them in Sanctuary ages ago ‘’Blue I- what’’ she was lost for words to be honest 

‘‘Oh believe me I was just as shocked when I found them, there was this whole synth refuge up in the capital wasteland! they all had the mind wipe but no face change ...I had wondered why and then realised all of those people were replicas of dead spouses from my time...a bit Sick right? they were the newest one’‘ Sole almost chuckled as their ‘ex spouse’ walked around eyeing everything ‘‘I just ...wow Blue! wait... you ain’t leaving me right...Right?!’‘ Piper joked at first but then realised the gravity of the situation Sole laughed and took her hand softly raising it up to kiss her knuckles ‘‘oh my god P’‘

Cross_2077 by Niero: specifically the headset; while not it’s intended purpose, this helped fix an issue with the black widow hood making her neck invisible when paired with another outfit, it looks natural, despite some clipping issues and with the holo mask enabled it adds a red oni overlay with devil horns that I’m into. 

Premium Pip-Boy Black HD by JackWall: now what kind of edgelord bean would Scout be if her pipboy wasn’t a slick black color? Jk, I’m the edgelord who likes the color black too much. This is so slick and cool; especially when you pair it with red text to live the ultimate Shadow The Hedgehog fantasy.

Overboss Outfit by DeserterX  with Bodyslide Conversion by docteure: I love love love the aesthetic of this outfit so much, it’s just so nice and I love the jacket and just throwing it over any other outfit. 

Eli's Armour Compendium by Elianora: another set I just fell in love with; you can see that Scout is in Ellie’s shop within the screenshots, image number four is the road fury outfit, my personal fave, and image five is the skimpy raider armor cause I’m a whore. 

Femshepping and SootDirt's Female Wanderer Fashion Collection by...well you read it: There’s two images of the armored shorts set, the second and sixth image, and one of the wandering sniper set, image eight; I fell in love with these outfits the second I saw them, they’re just way too cool. I adore them. 

The Wandering Scavver Collection by guidethisonekalaheria; one of the alt looks I believe is pictured in image three, I’m a whore for two very crucial looks on characters; leather jackets and flannels. You fucking offer me an open flannel over a crop top, I’m jumping on it, that’s facts.

I really like this little new settlement and quickly decided it’s not really a settlement but Scout’s home away from Sanctuary where she doesn’t have to worry about Preston giving her more work (she loves him, but sometimes she needs a nap) or Marcy bitching at her. She’s free to drink and smoke in her underwear with only Dogmeat and her five other adopted dogs there to judge her.

Mod Review: This was a really cool concept that fit both divergent and high school musical together in a really cool way! All character choices worked and were so fun to see! “People were split into Cliques, signified by the colour of the pendant around your neck.  Red for Jocks.  Green for Nerds.  Blue for Artists.  Orange for Stoners.  They had real names, proper ones, but Murphy didn’t care enough to remember them.  No one called them their proper names before Graduation, anyway.  Your Clique determined everything: where you lived, where you worked, who you loved.” Such a great way to world build right away! Murphy and Clarke teaming up was so good! Such an interesting way to wrap the HSM conflict in with the factions! We liked that you hinted at the darker elements of your dystopia, like mentioning the patrols passing with guns, and how Murphy was wondering what factions they were in! It added a lot of depth! Murphy dressing up like a Nerd instead of an Artist when he went to Clarke’s house was a great way to give us an image of the different factions, very well done! We also loved the touch of Murphy secretly being an Artist, and Murphy not caring! Not being allowed out after curfew was a great way  to enforce a bed sharing trope! The ending left us wanting more! Will there be a revolution? Will Clarke become an artist?! We have to know!

Mod Review: We loved the world building in the beginning, showing us how the world looked and felt through Murphy’s eyes, showing us the people in his building and all that. Very nice touch, especially all the little nods to canon Settings and Characters!! This dystopia is so cool! The concept of the Judges is super scary, and we’d love to know more about this world! We really loved that you had Murphy harbouring a fugitive! It was such a cool ‘crime’, and it allowed for the focus to be on them as a pair rather than anything else, and it was a nice character focused fic! Also, Emori just being in his house when he got home? Excellent. Memori as Exes was SO good!! It added a level of angst and also seriousness to the fic, because them being together was hard for Murphy, but also he obviously still loved her, making the stakes so much higher! “How long had it been since he had last seen Emori? Probably their breakup. It had been an ugly one but he couldn’t help but think to himself that she looked just as beautiful now as she had then.” This quote really pulled us into the Exes plot line, because pining is always a good idea in a fic! The characterisation throughout was PERFECT! We loved that you weaved Emori’s hand into the fic, Murphy noticing it was wrapped up and acknowledging it was because she was running with people who didn’t appreciate her the way he did was so good. The bed sharing was excellent! 1) murphy… bro… clean that couch!!! And 2) the rom com of it all! Them being rigid and awkward! So good! And such a great ending! A daring escape is always a great plot line! What happened to them, we have to know!

Mod Review: This was an amazing concept, and so fun to read!! We really liked how you tied in the canon plot of Murphy bailing and giving up, while everyone else kept going, it was a nice character touch that helped you weave in the world building in a nice way. Murphy having powers, and trying to quiet them however he could, not wanting the burden of those powers felt super in character, and added a really cool dynamic between him and emori! Speaking of Emori, her power was SO cool!! Such an interesting choice and so well used in the story! We really enjoyed how they kept constantly saying the wrong thing to each other, it really added a nice level of angst, especially in such dire situations when any conversation could be their last! Murphy’s reoccuring dream being about Kane was such a nice way to weave his power, the plot, and the emotional stakes together in a super cohesive way!! The use of the canon settings as settings in your story was awesome! Shallow Valley sounded beautiful! We especially enjoyed the description “Almost paradise. If you could ignore the armed guards stationed on key street corners and the sniper rifles peering through second story windows. A shiver runs down Murphy’s back.” Such a nice way to show tension! Future Emori showing up at the end was SO angsty!! So well done! And Murphy finally having to open back up and use his powers, even though it terrified him, was such an emotional scene, and it gave way to a very cool scene where we got to see Murphy really using his powers while self sacrificing. Such a good ending, and an overall wonderful fic!

Mod Review: This concept for a ‘crime’ was so interesting! It tied in so nicely with the dystopia itself, and the motivations for Murphy and Josephine, being so different, added a really nice layer. Josephine’s reason and Murphy’s reason also allowed for an exploration of the impact that this world has on different types of people, which was very cool! Murphy and Josephine have the best dynamic for reluctant Partners in Crime, and Murphy as the narrator makes it even better!!! “Josephine just smiles slowly. “At first I was going to go all Rumpelstiltskin--““Bless you.”” -hilarious. We loved the imagery of everyone living on islands due to rising sea levels! Eerie, and a little timely, but SO cool! Very nice world building! Emori being sterilized because of her hand, SO creepy and terrible. Such a nice touch that makes the world seem even worse. Josephine’s introduction is so good, so cavalier, so unbothered, but underneath so much fury just festering. A great exploration of her character! Her reason for wanting to take the baby sort of changing every time Murphy asks, getting a little closer to the truth before she finally divulges everything, was such a nice way of exploring her and their world! And also… SHE STOLE MORE THAN ONE BABY?!?! We were super impressed with how you were able to weave such intricate backstories for all the characters into this fic! Bellamy cheating the test, Josephine’s whole story with Gabriel, Murphy’s reason for being unable to have kids, and Emori’s storyline too! SO interesting, we’d love to know more! And your ending was so good!! Them being unable to sell the baby because everyone knew whose baby it was was an excellent touch, and the “wait, you guys are getting paid” was so funny!!! “Pointedly, Emori looks to him and Murphy’s smirk grows slowly. He already has a partner in crime, and he has to say she’s much better at it. “Nah, you can keep her.”” Such a great memori moment to tie the fic up!

WIP Wednesday (thursday?)

So I was tagged by @n0rmandysr1 and would like to tag @rpgwarrior4824, @pigeontheoneandonly, @citadelsushi, and anybody else who wants to do this. 

“Sniper,” the Spectre said, gesturing to the window. “This is a reinforced polymer window, and T’Soni’s backed it up with barrier generator. It would have taken specialized hardware to break through.”

Kaidan could only think of Shepard, perched atop a Prothean pyramid for hours, all tightly coiled energy and laser focus, watching the Cerberus patrol until they were right where she wanted them. The smooth, well-practiced motion and cold fury when she picked off Haliat from the top of a mine shaft. Her excitement when she found a rare mod she’d been bidding for on black market sites for months in a dead pirate’s pocket.  

He cast his gaze around the apartment, looking for a telltale cast of blue blood. Lots of people thought Shepard never missed. Shepard liked people to think she never missed. But she was just as fallible as anybody else. Even so, as he followed the trajectory of the bullet holes, with three shots at that range, Shepard would have hit something more vulnerable than a couch.

“Care to share your thoughts?” Tela Vasir said, coming to stand beside him.

“They weren’t shooting to kill,” he said.  “They want Liara to run. There’s something that they want and they think that she can lead them to it.”
