Do you feel like your parents/guardians helped to set you up for being a successful adult? Not referring to financials but to teaching you important life skills?
#Hmmmmmm..hm#So they did teach me Abstract things. I think my personality and perseverance wouldn't exist without them#I have strong values for education and caring for others that were absolutely from them#But like Tasks? Skills? I would say not very much#I grew up in a hoarding house and had to teach myself to shower clean up after myself etc etc#I didn't really learn to cook. I had to navigate college applications and medical stuff all on my own#Ive never gone on a trip with them. ive solo travelled to 7 diff states since i was 15#So i had to learn money management. How to deal with strangers. safe traveling stuff alone#But i still would say they helped set me up..they encouraged me to travel to go to college to be so independent#And i can ask them questions when i need it like i recently asked my dad if it was worth it to pay a certain medical bill#So ill say yes. But most of the actual Skills were built from myself..just the attitude to be ambitious and keep going is from them#definitely the most concrete thing they gave me was strong communication skills. A desire to understand other people's perspective#and include them in discussions. this has greatly aided my personal relationships#Interesting question!#Hangar
