Solarpunk Explorers

While the last Dieselpunks are killing each other for the last drops of petrol in the ruins of the destroyed cities, the kids have gone out into the world to reforest the forests and set up small colonies, learn how to grow there own food, free from discrimination and in harmony with nature. Now they have to cope with a world that generations before them have almost completely destroyed. 

They are helped by technologies that for centuries have been considered weak and non-functional for the economy. Energy from wind and sun, transportable and built from recycled materials, there is still enough electrical scrap in this world. None of the kids who are now trying to restore the world want to make the same mistakes as the old capitalists, the oil and gas dependents did. Dieselpunk is dead. Solarpunk or the end of the world.

A small ring for Solarpunk Fashion Week. This ring was made using the last of my pleather scraps bought secondhand and salvaged from clothing. It’s like a tiny reminder for myself to try not to let anything go to waste.

Finally got my solarpunk vest done! (Well, not really done, in the sense that I’ll probably add more stuff later. But I finally put on all the pins and patches that I have so far.) @solarpunkfashionweek

Dress: originally ModCloth, bought at the Big Thrifty Vest: Woman Within Patches and pins: a ton of different places! I will do another post with close-up pics and sources sometime soon. Solarpunk Manifesto

I am a permaculturalist and a writer and since I discovered solarpunk I fell in love with it.

I read everything I could about solarpunk and I decided to reorganize in a Solarpunk Manifesto some of the material that was collected in the Solarpunk Reference Guide by @solarpunks.

I would like to publish it as "The Solarpunk Collective" without any specific autor, since I just reorganized it, but it was actually written by many different people. What do you think? I would love some feedback and comments and I would love if it was published in many different places.

We need to have the solarpunk wikipedia page back up and a solarpunk manifesto could lead to that.

Notes: - couldn’t find any used combat boots in my small town in time, so these had to do - I rented all items where possible to reduce consumption/waste/recycling footprint - It could have been better, yes, but with 3 days’ time and living in a small town of 15,000 people, there’s only a few thrift stores and 1 costume store to browse through - I wish I could have gotten harem pants in time.
