Finnick comforting reader when she is on her period?
I love your work so much<33
Tomorrow Never Came
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
tyy love!!
context: Finnick and reader are fellow tributes from four who are both currently at the Capitol cause they were Reaped for the Games.
a/n: Yes, Finnick nicknames reader ace lol. I've been binging s5 and 6 of Gilmore Girls and Finnick is so Logan coded <3
౨ৎ・゚:*
"Ughhh!" You hated being dramatic, but you hated things not going your way even more. "Stupid blanket!"
You let out another prolonged groan when it once again slid off your legs and onto the floor. It was a blanket for God's sake, wasn't the thing supposed to keep you warm? Instead, the threadbare fabric couldn't even stay on top of your legs.
"Now, honey, there's no need to throw things around and cause a fuss." You could place the unmistakably pouty drawl from a mile away. You felt his maddeningly hot breath on the back of your neck as he leaned over your spot on the couch.
"Go away, Odair." You fought to keep your voice calm. Seeing you annoyed only egged Finnick on like some crude form of encouragement.
Predictably, he jumped over the edge of the couch, jostling you as he landed with a thump. Leave it to Finnick to annoy you when you're in your most irritable mood.
To your surprise, he held out a throw blanket. The plushy material looked so out of place in his calloused hands, so rough from all his seafaring.
"Take it, ace." He nodded encouragingly. "I can't even imagine how hard it is being on that time of the month. Especially, being here and all, away from home, and with all that pressure on ya."
"How do you know..."
"I saw you eating like three pounds of chocolate last night." At your look of mortification, he hurried to add, "I couldn't sleep either, sweetheart. I wanted to join you, but I figured if I interrupted you, I wouldn't stand a chance at even making it to the arena tomorrow night."
You chuckled at that, finding him funnier than you'd like to admit. You reluctantly accepted the blanket he was still holding out to you.
"You know, ace, we can be allies in there." He was looking at you earnestly now, gaze piercing enough to cut through glass. "I don't want this to sound forward, but I would die for you."
He swallowed as you frowned up at him. "I...I-I don't have anyone who cares about me. I don't have anyone to go home to if I come out of this thing alive. But you..."
You surprised yourself with what came out of your mouth next, "I care."
Finnick raised his head slowly.
"I mean it, Fin," you continued. "You're...Look, I know I'm not the easiest person to like, but somehow you make me seem tolerable. I never thanked you for saving my ass during the interview." You rolled your eyes at the memory.
"But thank you for spinning our story into a love tale. If it weren't for you, I would probably have a negative amount of sponsors. I mean, who wants to root for the scrawny girl from the fishing district who can't even fish-"
Finnick's plush lips found yours, immediately silencing the million thoughts running through your mind. He pulled back, eyebrows raised as if he had surprised himself. If tomorrow never came, you would be glad for it.
You pulled him back to you, the collar of his sweater clutched tightly in your hands. He kissed you slow as if you were a delicate primrose blooming in early spring.
When you pulled back again, he eyed you, the ghost of a smirk playing on his lips.
"I would root for the scrawny girl from four, who by the way, is the strongest swimmer I've ever seen." You suddenly felt yourself growing redder than channel bass. "And about that love tale, I didn't just spin it. I spoke from the heart."
"Oh, now you're done," you thwacked his chest, moving to stand up. "This does not mean you're getting in my pants tonight, Odair." You glanced at him pointedly, clutching his blanket to your chest.
You turned before you could notice that his answering smirk was more of a hopeful grin.

ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ 1610! Miles morales x reader
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ hc of playing acnh with miles bc I miss playing it
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ gag worthy fluff tbh, I need me a bf like miles
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ header by pastelwalks
Tumblr media
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ tbh he probably played before u two had gotten together but let’s pretend he didn’t rn
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ miles most definitely questions everything about the game
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷”why are we the only human??” “Why is the place being ran by a racoon?” “Who is this random otter in the ocean??”
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷miles shaking trees and getting stung by wasp. After you told him that a villager can give him medicine he went up to one and they called him ugly LMFAO.
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ I feel as if miles wouldn’t be picky when it comes to villagers, he loves all of them
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ skips all of blathers dialogue. “He talks to much” 😭
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷but because of blathers he remembers so many facts about dinosaurs, bugs and fish. He even recites them if he see it in public
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ “that’s a paper kite butterfly” “ I don’t now wether to write on it, fly it or spread it on toast”
“…what..”
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ He isn’t really into the whole “selling villagers thing” and when he finds out you put your villagers up for sale on discord he judges so hard😭😭
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ “wdym your putting Moe up for sale???” “Miles he’s a ugly version of Tom, I don’t like him” “but FOR SALE??? That’s sounds like human trafficking”
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ I feel like the villagers miles would like would be Dobie and Joey, don’t ask why they’re just adorable.
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ now back to the actual game, miles would have BEEF with Tom nook (just like the rest of us)
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷” baby why do I have to pay a phone bill fee, he OFFERED the phone to me”
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷imagine the first time he shoots down a ballon and it goes in the water LMFAO
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ when he has to build the nooks cranny alone, he would be so shocked at the amount of material he needs
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷”30?? 30 iron nuggets?? How am I supposed to get 30 iron nuggets if the rock only gives me two???”
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ you start to treat him like he’s your sugar baby, giving him iron, regular wood (bc that shit is hard to get for no reason), flowers, literally anything
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷”hey baby, why’d you want to come to my island?? What are you dropping?? Is that MONEY, WHY ARE YOU DROPPING THOUSANDS OF BELLS??”
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ he always says he’s gonna pay u back but you decline ofc
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ miles gets mad when he gets a sea bass for the 90th time so you offer for him to fish on your island only for him to get another see bass
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷” I got ANOTHER SEA BASS? If I hear this joke one more time I’ll start crying. “Baby here you try” *you pull a sunfish* *angry stare in disbelief*
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ he gets a little aggressive with Isabelle when she is trying to help the island get up to 3 stars and he keeps getting told “plant more flowers”
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ now he gets 3 stars right, he’s fucking EXCITED like it took so long and he finally got it
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ miles fav k.k songs are kk crusin, kk surfin and kk western.
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ I don’t think he has a theme going on, just kinda goes w the flow but loves watch island tours on YouTube
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷miles coming over to your island just to see you beating the hell out of a villager with your net and calling them names
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷”mi vida…. Why are you torturing them?..” “I want him to leave”
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ most definitely has you design a Spider-Man costume for his character
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ I truly don’t know what his favorite season would even be, like idk I get spring vibes but it could be anything
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ having miles come to your island to catch the spiders that are harassing you. (I’m being so fr, the spiders scare me so much, if I see one I’m closing the whole game).
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ he WORSHIPS your island, like he loves it always praising you about it just UGH 😩 I LOVE HIM
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷” Amor??? Your island is so good, what?? How long did this even take?, you’re so talented I swear” “uhhhh haha it’s not that good” “ baby it’s AMAZING”
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ acnh dates where Celeste is at your island and you both make wishes
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ “you know… my only wish is to be with you forever” “miles, you are so corny….I love you” “I love you to mi alma”
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ spending the holidays together in acnh, like him wrapping up a gift for you during Christmas and you both exchanging them 😭😭 adorable
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ telling miles all of your island drama bc he swears yours is more entertaining
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ “omg baby, literally Raymond and Judy got into a fight the other day arguing about who’s better looking and Raymond said it was obviously him, so he was basically calling Judy ugly. THEN they had the audacity to ask me who looked better. “Whatttttt😮”
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ he loves the game truly, he plays with you whenever you ask. He just got out the shower but you wanna play? let him hurry and put clothes on and he’s yours. Just got done patrolling after a long day but you wanna play? How could ever deny you with a face like yours?
Tumblr media
I literally love this sm, I might have to make another one with 42!miles and another with the twins 🤔🤔🤔 let me know if y’all want that bc I’ll have it done,

The Clear Lake hitch (Lavinia exilicauda chi) is a rare endemic species of minnow living only in the Clear Lake watershed of northern California, a fish that was once a “symbol of abundance” for Indigenous people. In December 2022, the Big Valley Band of Pomo Indians, Robinson Rancheria Band of Pomo Indians, Scotts Valley Band of Pomo Indians and the Habematolel Pomo of Upper Lake ask for immediate emergency protection of the hitch. The fish is in danger of extinction as the last observed successful breeding for the species was in 2017, and the creatures only have a six-year-long lifespan. US land management agencies say hitch numbers have “fallen to near zero.” However, in the past, there were millions of hitch in the watershed each year, and the fish was important to Indigenous food systems. Local “entrepreneurs” prefer to protect the introduced non-native bass, which voraciously preys on the endangered hitch. Clear Lake hosts dozens of bass tournaments each year, events large enough to attract international visitors. There is a past-time tradition (”hitching”) of children beating the hitch to death with baseball bats in the springtime as the hitch gather in streams to try to spawn. The hitch is also threatened by pesticides, runoff, and overuse of water for the region’s prominent local vineyards. The hitch is referred to as a “trash fish,” and some feel that this insults the importance of the fish to Pomo people.
Excerpts below from: Louis Sahagun of Los Angeles Times. “As a sacred minnow nears extinction, Native Americans of Clear Lake call for bold plan.” As published at Phys.org. 6 December 2022.
---
Tumblr media
Spring runs of a large minnow numbering in the millions have nourished Pomo Indians since they first made their home alongside Northern California’s Clear Lake more than 400 generations ago. The Clear Lake hitch glinted like silver dollars as they headed up the lake’s tributaries to spawn, a reliable squirming crop of plenty, steeped in history [...].
In all that time, the hitch’s domain, about 110 miles northwest of Sacramento, had never suffered the degradation of recent years.
Now, with a growing sense of sorrow, if not anger, the Pomo Indian tribes of Clear Lake are watching the symbol of abundance and security they call chi dwindle into extinction.
---
On Monday [December 2022], they took the rare and drastic step of urging Interior Secretary Deb Haaland to use her emergency powers and invoke the federal Endangered Species Act on behalf of the Clear Lake hitch. “Bringing the chi back will require a bold plan of action devised by people with the power to move mountains,” said Ron Montez, tribal historic preservation officer for the Big Valley Band of Pomo Indians.
“I have almost zero confidence in state or federal officials to save the chi and our way of life,” Montez, 72, said. [...]
The Clear Lake hitch was designated as a threatened species under California’s Endangered Species Act in 2014. Since then, however, its numbers have fallen to near zero, according to recent surveys.
Some causes of the hitch’s decline, however, seem extraordinarily difficult to fix: prolonged drought, mercury contamination, gravel mining, an overtaxed water distribution system, pesticides and runoff from vineyards [...], and predatory nonnative game fish. [...]
---
The 2023 spring spawning season is crucial for the continued survival of the Clear Lake hitch, scientists say. That’s because the last observed successful spawning was in 2017. “Hitch have a six-year life span,” said Meg Townsend, an attorney with the Center for Biological Diversity. [...]
---
But until its fate is known for certain, Michael Fris, a field supervisor at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, said his agency is unlikely to list the hitch on an emergency basis. [...] That kind of talk prompted the Center for Biological Diversity, together with the Big Valley Band of Pomo Indians, Robinson Rancheria Band of Pomo Indians, Scotts Valley Band of Pomo Indians and the Habematolel Pomo of Upper Lake to take their request for emergency listing to Haaland.
All involved agree that seeking intervention under the federal Endangered Species Act is an act of desperation. Only two species have been emergency-listed as federally endangered over the last 20 years: the Miami blue butterfly in 2011 and Nevada’s Dixie Valley toad earlier this year. [...]
---
The hitch is a 12-inch-long minnow found only in and around the oldest, largest and perhaps most polluted and wildfire-prone watershed in California. In 2020, the Lake County region was charred by six of the 20 largest wildfires in state history. [...]
It’s been the poor luck of the hitch to require adequate stream flows in February, March and April to trek from the lake to spawning beds at the same time agricultural interests need water to defrost their vineyards.
---
“An emergency listing would force people to consider alternatives to the way water is used in this region,” said Sarah Ryan, environmental director for the Big Valley Band of Pomo Indians.
Beyond water flows, the prospect of emergency-listing the hitch raises other economically significant issues connected to the lake’s food chain: Zooplankton are eaten by shad, crayfish and hitch, which are favored by monster catfish and largemouth bass.
Clear Lake entrepreneurs host dozens of professional bass tournaments each year that are supported by contestants from around the world.
The most popular lures in local tackle shops are hitch replicas that cost up to $180 each. Other lures are made to resemble juvenile hitch and sold under a slogan that some people feel mocks the creature’s cultural importance to Pomo people: “The All-American Trash Fish.”
Over at [C.O.], a sporting goods store on the southern end of the lake, old-timers still talk about how local kids had a tradition of “hitching,” beating hitch to death with baseball bats for fun as they ascended streams to spawn in spring.
They also grumble over the thought of new special protections for a nongame fish disrupting human pastimes for any reason [...].
"The reason our bass grow so big is that they love to eat hitch," mused [D.B.], owner of [C.O.]. "So, when customers ask me, 'Where can I catch the biggest bass of my life?' " he added, "I send them to places hitch hang out in."
---
That kind of banter and lore suggests that unless government agencies yield to Native American concerns, they are headed for a showdown of complicated and competing values.
“The way some people ridicule hitch makes me wonder what they think about the folks who eat them,” lamented Robert Geary, cultural resources director for the Habematolel Pomo of Upper Lake. [...]
---
At the heart of the matter is that Pomo people [...] did not consider their native attitudes and lifestyles to be an expendable price of living in America.
Yet, their modern history is told mostly through economic hardship, rip-offs, massacres and environmental destruction.
---

There’s no grounds, Jawbone!
On Wednesday afternoon, three days before spring break, The Bad Kids receive their late report cards and open them together. That Friday, they are marched through a door, expecting death.
The POV of various parents and teacher of The Bad Kids, during the days leading up to the Last Standard Exam.
It was three days before the kids' spring break, and Sandra-lynn was relaxing.
Not attempting to and failing, not half-relaxing and half-stressing, not even mostly relaxing and partially going gray early, actually relaxing.
Her kids are doing so damn good.
Fig is acing her warlock class, and while she doesnt love her daughter's lack of a consistent sleep schedule, she is loving her newfound passion taking shape in the form of paladin studies. Never before had she seen Fig commit herself to any certain area of study (one bard class in three years are you kidding-) but she almost found herself honest to god crying when they came back from Fallinel in January and Sandra-lynn, on her way to mount Baxter in the pale light of winter dawn, beheld her daughter crouched out in the front yard of he manor, praying.
It sure as hell hadn’t looked like praying, Fig crouched out in the snow, laces untied, strands falling out of her braid, a red flannel Sandra-lynn is pretty sure she saw on Kristen yesterday splayed out over her fish-net covered knees, looking for all the world like a bundle of red string in teenage form, all knots and floppy bows and frayed thread. In the almost gray wash of weak January sunlight she’d expected Fig’s red complexion to look more pink, but it was in fact a deeper red even then usual. Like it's summer, a part of her thought before dismissing the notion in favor of asking her daughter what she was doing.
Fig looked up, horns shining much more than they really should have been (7 am january light) and with a click of her fangs gave a toothy smile.
Praying, she said, tapping the frozen ground with a comically tiny stick from where she was crouched. Just really feeling the conviction, y’know?
Her infernal archdevil daughter ran hot as was expected, but the fire under her skin presented itself in the form of pranks involving shoving her hands under Kristen and Adaine’s shirts and her favorite party trick of lighting her cigarettes with her fingertips. Never enough to truly hurt or burn much more than paper. Sandralynn felt the frozen ground under her boots and wondered how it was possible the ground was warm and soft enough under Fig’s boots that she could draw in the dirt with her stick.
She had dropped a kiss on the top of her head with a quick proud of you, glancing between Fig’s horns at the patch of dirt amidst the tufts of grass in the front yard of the manor. Lips warm, cheeks cold, she mounted Baxter as a cloud swept across the pale blue sky, covering the weak sun and casting slight shadow over the image of a flaming horse in the dirt. Fig’s horns did not stop glinting with sunlight.
Now, three months later, the sunlight once again glinted off of Fig’s horns as she burst through the front door, a roar of laughter following her like the roar of fire. Kristen and Adaine stumbled through the door after Fig, clutching each other and giggling like mad. Gorgug stepped through smoothly, holding his crystal up to his ear and talking at a much more reasonable volume. She had been called into work extremely early and so was home at three in the afternoon to see the Hangvan pull into the gravel driveway. Listening to her kids shriek with glee and chatter amongst themselves, Sandra-lynn had half a mind to tell them to keep it down, but her muscles are relaxed and her mug of lavender tea is in her hands and the taste of pride on her tongue is so warm and floral that she can’t bring it to form the words.
Fig waved to her, slinging her bass off her shoulder, a laughing Adaine hanging off her arm. “Hi mom, Riz and Fabian are on their way too.”
“Got it. Hi girls,” She called from her comfy spot on the couch. “Gorgug, nice to see you. Did you guys have a good day?”
“Oh, yeah, it’s been great-”
“It’s been fucking amazing!” Kristen exclaimed. “I got Torek to skate in the hallway and pull a slogan banner behind it and she nearly ran into Buddy, that smug motherfucker-”
“And he was moping around Kettlechip at lunch and she looked pissed at him-” Adaine snickered, “Because he- because he told her-”
Kristen stopped laughing long enough to take a breath, look at Adaine, and slowly raise her staff at the ceiling which sent them both into another fit of laughter.
“It’s been great.” Gorgug continued as if he had never been interrupted. “There’s not a lot more to do before our spring break quest, and we finally got our report cards from last semester.”
Her breath caught in her throat at the mention of the quest. She’s not stupid, she’s known this was coming up along with the springtime flora, the quest looming over her thoughts like the sun that rose earlier and earlier each day. An image flickered across her mind, loosing arrows from the top of impossibly grand stairs, hands that she couldn't control burying arrows in Baxter, in Fig.
Her daughter, who had kicked one shoe off by the door and one halfway off, glanced over at her and abandoned the untying of her laces to move and stand over the side of the couch. Sandra-lynn tried to push the warmth of pride into her smile and the cold chill of fear away from her eyes. Based on the way Fig’s face softened, it didn’t work.
“Don’t worry mom,” Fig said, tossing her crystal onto the couch and hopping up on the arm next to her. “Max told me last night in class his party’s rouge found out the junior year quests are supposed to be really simple this year, like fighting giant snakes in a swamp somewhere. We’ll get the assignment on Saturday and we’ll be done in like, a day and a half, I'm sure.” She suddenly brightened, smiling with a very bardic gleam in her eye. “I can go back to Hell and write my next song!”
“First we should go to Ashgrove though.” Gorgug added, a hand over his crystal speaker, not budging from his spot by the door as a red-faced Kristen careened into his chest, muffling her laughter. “Help Riz with his thing.” He waved the crystal slightly in their direction and she heard Riz's voice muted by whistling wind. On the Hangman with Fabian, no doubt.
“I can’t believe-” Adaine gasped, “He tried to banish you, and failed, and then you- you did it to him, without- without standing up!”
Sandra-lynn sat up straighter. “Kristen, you have got to stop up and casting Banishment on people you don't like-”
“No no no, it was for class, I swear.” Kristen said, raising her head from Gorgug’s hoodie. “The cleric and wizard classes had a surprise practical casting quiz today and I wanted to just go with Adaine but there were more clerics than wizards, and Bobby randomly paired me with Buddy Dawn.”
Fig snorted. “Randomly my ass. That asshole was trying to embarrass you using his grandson.”
“Yeah, duh, but since I'm so awesome it didnt fucking work. And I’m glad he tried because the look on Copperbrittle’s face-”
That asshole, Sandra-lynn thought in vehement agreement. One day she would tell them the whole story. One day when her kids were finally out from under his thumb.
“Besides, Sandra-lynn,” Kristen said as she reached over Gorgug’s shoulders to his backpack, digging around on her tiptoes despite his sputtering. “My grade is up to an A+ right now.”
Sandra-lynn’s heart swelled.
“Which means at graduation I can just cast Banishment on his ass then, and there’s nothing he can do about it.”
“Kristen Applebees.” She chided, but winked at Adaine who had since stopped laughing and was helping Gorgug shrug his backpack off with Kristen’s arms still buried in it. Adaine gave her a wink back with a Message spell. You don't need to worry about my grade.
I never have sweetheart, she messaged back, heart swelling even more, lavender blooming. “Don’t obsess over your enemies too much, even if they are running against Kristen. Gorgug, thanks for taking the girls home. Are we expecting you and Fabian and Riz for dinner tonight? Also, Fig, sweetie, get your boot off the couch.”
The boot went sailing in the general direction of the front door and Gorgug snatched it out of the air before it could hit one of the vases of flowers Jawbone liked to decorate the foyer tables with. “Thanks for the offer, but It’s Roz’s birthday so I’m calling her and Gorbag with my parents tonight and I don’t think Riz and Fabian can stay long, we’re just looking over the report cards together.”
She hummed, taking another sip from her mug as Adaine and Gorgug started arranging shoes in neat pairs by the door and Kristen pulled a dark red, comically thick envelope from Gorgug’s backpack. Augefort released report cards to parties as a whole, and she remembered the excitement of the Bad Kids during the first semester when they had all piled into Adaine’s tower to find out Gorgug, Fig, and Fabian passed their new classes with flying colors. Jawbone and Sandra-lynn had got them Basrars to celebrate.
Fig bumped her head against Sandra-lynn’s, a mirror of that January morning, her daughter the one over her, warmth radiating down on her like sunlight. “Tell Riz and Fabian we’ll be in Kristen’s room.” She said, hopping down from the couch and sliding down the hall on socked feet. “Gorgug, tell Riz to tell Fabian he better have gotten Smoothie Queen like I asked!”
“Lydia’s out at physio, so be as loud as you want.” Sandra-lynn called out after them, only wincing slightly when Kristen crashed into the wall in a much less dexterous attempt than Fig to slide across the floor on the way to her room.
The kids left down the hall, voices fading. The Hangman rumbled up the gravel driveway fifteen minutes later, Riz and Fabian both stepping inside, toting smoothies and greeting her before heading down the hall. Laughter echoed through the stone and wood of the manor, and Zayne popped his head down through the ceiling to give her a wave when she got up from the couch and headed to the kitchen to make some more tea.
She considered for a moment to make two cups, but decided against it with a sigh. Jawbone had been working later and later as the end of the school year approached and he had a lot to do before spring break, at school and at Mordred too. They’ve been living here a year, steadily making progress with their renovations and various projects that came with living in an old busted up haunted house, but she wouldn’t trade the cold floors and drafty secret passageways and the old graveyard for anything despite the headache she sometimes got by living with seven other people. Eight if she counted Aelwyn, who had started coming by more often to subtly hole up in her sister’s tower and not-so-subtly do piles of laundry and steal snacks from the pantry. Six if she didn’t count Zayne, who wasn't technically living, but he was as much a part of the household now as Fig.
She was so goddamn proud. Her life hadn’t been perfect, and she’s fucked up and screwed people over and fell apart more times than she can count since she was Fig’s age, but it all had led her here. Her daughter had more support and family than Sandra-lynn had ever had, friends who would do anything for her and Gilear and Gortholax and Jawbone to dote on her. She was an accomplished bard, a powerful warlock, and a devoted paladin. Fig’s life wasn’t perfect. Sandra-lynn’s life wasn't perfect, but Jawbone had told her time and time again that life is never perfect, healing is never linear, and no mistake is so bad it can’t be fixed with time and effort. She had an amazing boyfriend and a beautiful daughter and an extremely haunted house. She had relaxed muscles and lavender tea. So what if there was a potential conspiracy to bring back an unknown god that may or may not actually be Fig’s god?
The Bad Kids would get through it. They always did.
Grabbing a fresh teabag from the pantry and a clean mug from the cupboard, Sandra-lynn started toward the stove, humming good-naturedly. Maybe she could order in tonight, spend the time she would have spent cooking sitting on the couch, watching This Solecian Life and tuning out all the rest of the world outside Mordred. No worrying about curses, no worrying about work, and definitely no worrying about grades.
She grinned. Yes, she’d continue to relax, and there would be no worry about-
An agitated screech rang out from the direction of Kristen’s room, and she slammed the mug down on the kitchen counter so hard she was surprised it didn't shatter like Fig had cast the spell. Sliding on her own socked feet, she flew through the hallways and skidded into the chapel of Cassandra with a shout. “What’s happening? Are you guys okay?”
Her heart leapt in her throat as she saw a splatter of red on the floor before she registered Riz’s claws puncturing the white styrofoam cup in his hand, Gorgug and Fabian crouched over him from where he was frozen on the floor. There was a look on his face she’d never seen before, and she’d bet a hundred fucking gold that no one in the world without Detect Thoughts would be able to tell if he was about to cry or hide or kill somebody.
Another flash of red, and she blinked hard, lavender on her tongue turning sour. Kristen was waving a folded up paper in front of her, face red as her hair, angry eyes shining dangerously, and Sandra-lynn mentally said goodbye to the her of the past who was drinking tea on the couch, no worries in her mind's eye.
Kristen screamed again, wordless frustration, undeniable rage lacing her voice. She turned and flung the paper away like it had burned her, which landed in Fig’s shaking hands. She turned to look at Sandra-lynn, and her daughter mouthed to her as her eyes shone like Kristen’s.
Bobby Dawn.
The paper in Fig’s hands started to smoke, and the lavender on her tongue turned into ash.

Mushroom Cave vs Fruit Bat Cave
I've rewritten this post like four seperate times to the point i thought I had already posted it BUT I have not! Lucky ducky me!
I have been curious about which cave is technically better, especially since I see a lot of people are deadset on it being the fruit bat cave when I am a mushroom cave defender, so I am going to compare the two here!
What is the cave that you normally pick when you start a new save?
Divider Credit
Mushroom Cave
Pros:
Six boxes + A dehydrator
Spawns mushrooms even if theyre out of season
Spawns Common Mushroom, Red Mushroom, Purple Mushroom, Chanterelle and Morel
Helpful for Fall Foraging Bundle, Dye Bundle, Exotic Foraging Bundle, and Field Research Bundle
Helpful for crafting Life Elixir and Fall Seeds (and in turn, tea saplings)
Helpful for cooking Fried Mushroom, Tom Kha Soup, and Stir Fry
Purple Mushroom is a loved gift for the Wizard
Can make dehydrated mushrooms
Isn't obsolete after growing fruit trees
For sure produces every other day
You can customize your cave without risk of it
Helpful for three quests, all three reoccuring
Helpful for 9 unique fishpond quests, 11 total, which are as follows:
Common Mushroom: 2-3 from Bullhead, Largemouth Bass, Midnight Carp or Woodskip
Red Mushroom: 2-3 from Catfish, Spookfish or Woodskip
Purple Mushroom: 2-3 from Catfish, Rainbow Trout, Spook Fish, or Super Cucumber
Cons:
Mushrooms are always normal quality, even with Botanist Profession
Harvesting Mushrooms doesn't award any foraging XP
Other Areas Mushrooms Can Spawn:
Common Mushroom: Fall Season, Fall Seeds, Secret Woods in Spring and Fall, and Tapping a Mushroom Tree
Red Mushroom: The Mines, Secret Woods in Summer and Fall, and Tapping a Mushroom Tree
Purple Mushroom: The Mines, Tapping a Mushroom Tree in Summar and Fall
Chanterelle: Secret Woods in Fall
Morel: Secret Woods in Spring
Total Number of Pros: 16 Total Number of Cons: 2 Difference: 14 points
Tumblr media
Fruit Bat Cave
Pros:
Can spawn up to 50 fruit.
Spawns fruit even if they're out of season
Spawns Cherrys, Pomegranate, Peach, Apple, Orange, Spice Berry, Apricot, Wild Plum, Blackberry, and Salmonberry
Helpful for Artisan Bundle, Enchanter's Bundle, Fodder Bundle, Summer Foraging Bundle, and Fall Foraging Bundle
Helpful for crafting Summer Seeds and Fall Seeds
Helpful for cooking Cranberry Candy, Fruit Salad, Plum Pudding and Blackberry Cobbler
Provides Loved Gifts for Elliott (Pomegranate), Robin (Peach), and Gus (Orange)
Can make wine, jelly, and dried fruits
Fruit can be of any quality
You benefit from the botanist profession and the gatherer profession
You earn foraging XP
Helpful for 4 quests (3 reocurring)
Cons:
Cannot customize cave as that reduces the amount of tiles where the fruit can spawn, even if it is crafted flooring.
After growing fruit trees it becomes, essentially, obsolete. Especially with the green house.
Not collecting fruit reduces the amount of fruit that can spawn overnight. For example if you have no fruit there is a 48% chance of NO new fruit spawning, but if you have ten fruit in it that chance raises to 54%
Not used in any fish pond quests
No guarentee that fruit will spawn overnight.
Other Areas Fruit Can Spawn:
Cherry: Cherry Tree in Spring (year round in greenhouse)
Apricot: Apricot Tree in Spring (year round in greenhouse)
Peach: Peach Tree in Summer (year round in greenhouse)
Orange: Orange Tree in Summer (year round in greenhouse)
Pomegranate: Pomegranate Tree in Fall (year round in greenhouse)
Apple: Apple Tree in Fall (year round in greenhouse)
Salmonberry: Bushes throughout the valley on days 15-18 in Spring.
Blackberry: Bushes throughout the valley on days 8-11 in Fall, Fall Seeds (growin in fall or year round if planted in Greenhouse)
Spice Berry: Foraging in Summer, Summer Seeds (grown in summer or year round if planted in Greenhouse)
Wild Plum: Foraging in Fall, Fall Seeds (grown in fall or year round if planted in Greenhouse)
Total Number of Pros: 12 Total Number of Cons: 5 Difference: 7 points

Top 10 albums 2024
Tagged by my mate @lememecollector, last time I did this was.. I was still in high school 💀I had a lot of stuff from the Killers, Mitski, twenty one pilots lmao so let's see how much I've changed
In Rainbows - Radiohead
To me, this is the golden record and the most perfect album. It gets better and better every single time I listen to it. If you want to listen to it on a more normal level, it's so fun to groove and jam to. If you want to dig deep, you'll realize every single track is actually pretty complex from a musical perspective. 15 Steps being in 5/4 signature, Bodysnatchers being in something of a syncopation, Weird Fishes in a very layered polyrhythmic soundscape, Faust Arp changing time signatures every few measures etc. The closing track, Videotape still confuses me with it's rhythmic patterns. The lyrics seem to contrast the vibes of the music, e.g. 15 Step opening up with "How come I end up where I started?" and that feeling of never being able to escape your old faults. Even the track order is so perfect, it's ordered in a way where it never feels like it drags or rushes, and everything just flows so seamlessly into each other. Upbeat, depressing, innovative, experimental all at once.
What puts this at first place is really the musicality of it. It's very much what I think of as an objective perfection. I think some of the other albums I put on this list isn't as polished, but it's more about the emotional and rawness of the music. Like, I would blast In Rainbows if I'm on aux, but I wouldn't blast like. Shoegaze. I've never been much of a fan of Radiohead for their lyrics bc ngl I don't even know what Thom is singing half the time, but it's always been about the actual musicality for me.
Favorite is Jigsaw Falling into Place! The bass player in me is obsessed.
2. bury me at makeout creek - Mitski
My first love <3 musically speaking. I was in like 7th grade when I heard "Francis Forever" play on Adventure Time then immediately going to search it up. Then I heard First Love/Late Spring, then Townie, and something in me flickered. It was the first time I ever heard an Asian American in the indie rock scene. Back then, Mitski was such a small artist and relatively unknown. I remember journaling about her music in 7th grade lmao. The explosiveness of Texas Reznikoff, the teenage angst in Townie, crushing First Love/Late Spring, the yearning self-affirmation on Francis Forever..etc. It's actually quite musically simplistic but it's so catchy and manages to have some of the most personal and confessional lyrics at the same time. And it's not like Mitski doesn't know how to be "musically complex", she was literally a studio composition major and you can really feel that bleed through in Retired from Sad, New Career in Business.
Bmamc feels like something you would sing to yourself on a guitar in your bedroom, or perform in your garage, or something you would write in your diary. It's meant for yourself, not for a large crowd of a sold out stadium. It's raw, cathartic, intimate, and says everything it needs to say about love, insecurity, anger, grief, youth in a short 30 minutes. It meant everything to me and it still means everything to me. I hold it very close to my heart.
It's so hard to choose favorites for this. I have a special place in my heart for Francis Forever but every track means so much to me. I think Jobless Monday is so underrated though.
Side note: I have a lot to say about Mitski. I hate gatekeeping music but honestly like. I hate how her music has been dumbed down into "sad/yearning" or "for the gays", and that makes it feel sorta bland and discredits a lot of the depth. Like sure, a lot of her songs sound sad on surface level but when you really pay attention to what she's saying.. e.g. First Love/Late Spring is about loving someone so much that the feeling scares you. It's not even negative, by any means. Or Your Best American Girl is about never measuring up to the standard of your non POC partner. And her relatively recent success seems to have had a terrible impact on her, with concert behavior and the whole recording controversy, it's unfortunate to see her grow really uncomfortable with her fame as she's known to be a very private person.
3. Grace - Jeff Buckley
I've always known about Jeff Buckley since I was a small kid because of his cover of Hallelujah, but I never really dug that deep into his discography until later in high school. The first time I heard Grace I was so blown away by how powerful his voice was. I had Grace on repeat for a month when I first discovered it. The soft rolling guitar in Mojo Pin.. the intensity of the title track Grace, the summer break up vibes in Last Goodbye, the fragility of his voice in Lilac Wine, the odd chord progression in So Real.. "I love you, but I'm afraid to love" being whispered.. His voice is SO profound. Etc, He is probably one of my favorite lyricists ever, every line he writes is straight poetry. Not to mention the Sufi influences from Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.. He has such an odd vibrato and singing technique. He was such a sweet and sensitive guy. Also quite an underrated guitarist. He's like the King Midas of covers, every cover he makes turns into gold.
It's funny how a lot of my favorite artists have been influenced by him in some way. From Radiohead to Mitski to Lana Del Rey.. even people like Adele, Brad Pitt?, Jimmy Page, Phoebe Bridgers, literally you name it. The way he died was so tragic. I always wonder what he would have went on to accomplish if he had a little more time. The demo for My Sweetheart the Drunk was such a large departure from Grace, I genuinely wonder what public perception would've been if that ever released properly. Maybe he would have only been remembered for Grace and considered a flop after that, a one-album wonder. Maybe dying young cemented his legacy.
Favorite track is either Mojo Pin or So Real.
4. OK Computer - Radiohead
alright alright yeah I know two albums from the same artist on a top 10 list can be cheap but here me out. OK Computer is typically seen as the white edgy incel doomer album and is "overrated" but. From a musical perspective it's extremely impressive. Its place in alt rock history cannot be understated. At a time where grunge was dying, this album brough rock back in relevancy but in a different approach. This idea of a more artsy, experimental rock was a new and fresh flavor. The layered instrumentation and complexity.. it was very "out there" because the new computerized electronic noises were new for artists, and Radiohead was out there messing around with it. Paranoid Android was the first time I ever heard a guitar solo in 7/8 and it absolutely blew my teenage mind. There's a bit of political commentary though I don't know enough about UK politics to really say anything about that.
The themes in this album have aged beautifully. The paranoia of our world being engulfed by technology, a society where we're so advanced but even more alienated and isolated from each other, the fear of what would happen to humanity once technology became our rulers. The feelings of overstimulation and digital numbness. Fitter happier is often joked upon, but I think the lyrics really do sum up the album so well. The mundanity of life, a painful reflection of reality.
Picking a favorite is hard because I always listen to this album from start to finish. I think Climbing Up the Walls is very underrated. It captures the feeling of paranoia and losing your mind so well. I'm stopping myself from putting the rest of Radiohead's discography on here.
5. Did you know there's a tunnel under ocean blvd - Lana del Rey
Lana is... a messy person to say the least. She's made very questionable and controversial choices but honestly? She's somehow always in every single one of my playlists. But ocean blvd might be my favorite album to come out in the past 5 years, and i rank it above NFR. I love a good orchestral album, and when it lost every single grammy it was nominated for I almost saw red. I think A&W is a masterclass in songwriting and storytelling. The beat switch is so Jack Antonoff core. The themes of loss of innocence, trauma, family, identity... BEAUTIFUL!! Even the title itself is so interesting. The idea of something iconic slowly fading into irrelevancy, the question of will Lana's legacy end up just like that tunnel? I really love how personal the lyrics are compared to her previous works. I started crying at the opening track lmao.
I know she considered Chemtrails Over the Country Club to be the album that represented who she was, but Ocean Blvd nailed who she really is. I'm curious for how her next album is going to sound like. Never been a country fan but I believe Lana can nail a very specific aesthetic in the country genre.
Favorite is A&W and Kintsugi. I thought Kintsugi was a bit too slow paced for me at first but then when I heard "Daddy I miss them" I bawleddd.
6. Either/or - Elliott Smith
I'd always heard his name a lot but I never got around to checking him out until not too long ago. I knew Phoebe Bridgers cited him as a major influence, but then I kept hearing more and more people citing him like Frank Ocean, Alex G, Sufjan Stevens, even like Mac Miller, and I think I got tired of wondering who he was. When a lot of famous artists cite someone as an influence, I gotta check them out. You could immediately tell where Alex G got his low quality production vibes from haha.
I think what really drew me in is this feeling of a just a guy with a guitar singing to himself in his bedroom. I really like how soft and vulnerable his voice is. Could you argue he's not a good singer? Yeah, sure, I guess. But that's not really the point, is it? His chord progressions are very interesting and trying to learn like any of his songs on the guitar is such a nightmare, he's extremely skilled with the guitar. I love a depressing song, what can I say?
Favorite: Between the Bars, No Name no. 5, and Say Yes.
7. Melodrama - Lorde
I'm not an avid pop listener by any means, but Melodrama is the most perfect pop album I've ever heard. There are literally no unskippable tracks on this album and every time I listen to it, I feel like I have to listen to the whole album instead of single by single. Because her first album was slow paced and minimalistic, she received some flack for going more towards the maximalist pop approach, the very thing she was changing in the beginning. Despite all of the early criticism, Melodrama's aged beautifully. The lyricism is just gorgeous. It paints such a distinct picture.
It's interesting to follow Lorde as she grows older, and all of it is reflected in the music. Pure Heroine is the "growing up" album, Melodrama is the "growing pains", and Solar Power is really about settling into herself. Melodrama is her late teens/early twenties sophomore album, where she goes from the early teenage experiences to the more mature experiences. Talks about doing makeup, partying, breakups and heartaches... It's about the growing pains of moving past teenagehood. It's perfect. Listening to it while walking around college campus at night is an out of body experience. I would pay to have the album cover as a painting on my walls.
Favorite track: Hard Feelings/Loveless or Perfect Places. Love that weird experimental noise in Hard Feelings
8. Loveless - my bloody valentine
They were not lying when they said this was one of the best shoegaze albums ever. If you want to start getting into the shoegaze genre, this is the album to go to. The heavy distorted guitar banging in on the first track, the drum patterns and memorable melodies. It's very rhythmic. Shoegaze as a genre has always been so interesting to me - To have the vocals take a backseat and let the soundscape do the work, and you let this wall of sound wrap you up like blanket. It's less about what you're trying to say with the words and more about the sound itself and how it makes you feel. That fuzzy distortion makes me feel unlike anything else. When You Sleep is probably the most stand out track and the most popular, but there are many tracks that don't have any vocals, just repeated guitars. Yet somehow, somehow it's not boring to listen to.
My favorite one is Sometimes, probably the closest thing to a love ballad they'll get to. It makes me feel complete and empty at the same time. Drowsy and intimate, the mumbled lyrics. When that song came on in that one scene in Lost in Translation, it became one of my all time favorite scenes ever. That feeling of derealization and staring at a world that's right at your feet but you can't really enter it. Idk. But I think that's the point.
9. Vessel (And Regional at best) - twenty one pilots
This album has such a special place in my heart. I was going through the early teenage angst and it was the first album where I heard where it was saying "It's okay, we feel this way too." It felt a lot more personal that what I was used to hearing in middle school, like Despacito or whatever was trending that time. Yeah it's a bit reminiscent of the mid 2010s but it was also my gateway to more alternative music. It combined so many genres where it didn't feel like a particular genre. I don't really listen to twenty one pilots as much anymore but Vessel always will take me back.
I'm combining Regional At Best in this because it has a few overlapping songs and it's technically not a real album. But I would kill for a remastered version of RAB, esp songs like Slowtown. The songs meant so much to me and my younger self. However, I think Trench is the objectively best record twenty one pilots has put out.
Not sure what my favorite track would be. RAB has some golden ones. I think I would choose Kitchen Sink, but Anathema also means a lot to me.
10. Continuum - John Mayer
This album was quite influential towards my perception of guitars. I used to be obsessed with the bass guitar and I used to want to play the drums until I really listened to this album. I guess I used to think about guitar solos as flashy - Something you could shred on to show off your talent. I thought people like Van Halen and maybe Slash were talented, but the intensity and difficulty didn't really appeal to me. But I guess because Continuum is more heavily inspired by blues and souls, you don't really feel any of that (except for the Hendrix cover Bold as Love). Each solo is melodic and laidback. Mayer's known for his virtuostic guitar talent but here, he's demonstrating that he knows when to strip back.
Overall, it's just a very clean and solid album. No very skippable tracks, very ummm "friendly" to listen to. Like anyone can enjoy soft rock playing in the car, y'know.
Favorite tracks: Either Belief or I'm Gonna Find Another You
Honorable mentions (some other 10/10s)
Sam's Town - the Killers
My once favorite album.. I still love it a lot. I guess I've discovered a lot more stuff since then it took a backseat in my list of favorite albums. But I'll gladly do a rewrite of why I love it so much
This album makes you feel patriotic but not in a nationalistic, America is the best country on Earth, racist way. It's more of a cowboy, rugged individualism, independence, No Country for Old Men, western saloons and faded glamor type of feeling. Red Dead Redemption 2 type of feeling. It makes sense since they were trying to escape from the Hot Fuss era where everyone thought they were a British band. So they went the opposite direction and made this whole album is this declaration that they were Americans. Sam's Town has such an iconic opening, very "guns blazing", very Bruce Springsteen feeling. Read My Mind changed me as a person and I have no idea why exactly. It must have been my favorite song for 2 years. That final verse after the guitar solo is soul ascending.
Kessoku Band - Kessoku Band
Bocchi the Rock was the first anime I'd watched in a while and really got hooked on. Chainsaw Man was going on at the same time, but I'd already read the manga so many times I guess it wasn't the same. But BtR being a spiritual successor to K-On just really made me fall in love. The rotoscoping, attention to detail, the amount of inside jokes that only musicians can really understand. The humor is unmatched, and imo it's the embodiment of anime at its creative peak. The plot is heartwarming and relatable, the character dynamics are so great. It reminded me of my high school band lol
Overall, extremely well produced album and they got some of the best musicians in the j-rock industry like tricot haha and the peggies. The lead guitars go HAM with every solo and riff, the drum fills and patterns, not to mention how good the basslines are.
Blonde - Frank Ocean
Admittedly I was late to the Frank Ocean train, but this album in unmatched in its circle. It's such a good concept album, I just know Frank Ocean had been cooking this up for a long time. The ideas of duality, masculinity, and femininity and how the album is perfectly split in the middle at Nights during the beat switch, and how the album starts diving into the "masculine" part. Less singing, more rapping. Femininity is expressed through those pitch shifts and the topics of the songs. Blonde was even released as blond in some versions. I think my soul ascended a bit the first I heard Seigfried - Could literally pinpoint where Johnny Greenwood contributed, also the verse about dreaming about a thought. Close To You is such an underrated track. Also one of my favorite album covers.
twenty one pilots - Twenty One Pilots
Their first album and of course, it has a very fundamentally different feeling than the rest of their work. It was made in the basement Tyler Joseph and the original members of the band were staying at, and you can honestly feel it lol. It's overtly a lot more religiously themed (or more so the struggle with faith) and I guess you could say it's a lot more darker in sound, Songs like Addict With a Pen.. whew.. The songwriting is already pretty strong here, and it's a lot more piano heavy. The thing I might not like the most on that album in the way he sings. The midwestern emo accent/enunciation pops out so hard LOL. But I really appreciate this album for what it is. I'm also obsessed with the album cover.
I think my music taste has definitely evolved a bit, but I also lowkey sound like a white male/alt girl on tiktok 💀 I think compared to my last post I ever made, I've definitely improved at expressing a lot of my thoughts on music and why it's so special to me. I also really just enjoy blabbling a lot about music even though no one will probably see this haha. I have a lot more albums that I absolutely love and picking just 10 is impossible. Maybe I'll do this challenge again in another 5 years and see what's different haha

You know what. Since I really can't spend my entire life drawing every fishing misfortune for Asmodeus♡ I think I'll tell you all some key points. To truly emphasize what I mean with bad RNG.
In Spring, 2 days in a row were raining. I fished nearly all of both days and failed to get a catfish. The next day I was able to buy a catfish from the traveling salesperson (for 1000g). Two days after buying the catfish for the community center, Linus sent me a letter saying thanks for being nice.... and gave me a catfish. Thanks.
Out of the requests I have had for fishing, I have to emphasize the fact Maru's request was honestly so aggressive it made me debate doing it. But. I had to. For the affection and money.
Tumblr media
That is the most aggressive fish needing I have ever seen.
Spring 18 (one of the rainy days) I got a dinosaur egg from a treasure chest while fishing. I had no coop at the time. I still don't have a big coop. I cannot hatch the dino egg I caught in the rain over a month ago. It's just chilling in a storage chest in my house.
I had about a week without requests, figured I would just get fishing when they came back, and opted to upgrade my pick axe in the mean time. So, while fishing while the pick axe is upgrading, I figured MAY AS WELL EAT MY THREE CAVE CARROTS since what else am I spending stamina on.
The pick axe is completed! I see a new request! Sebastian wants a cave carrot. I'm going to commit murder. So I go to the mines and spend forever in there, barely getting home before I pass out in game. The next day I'm on my way BACK to the mines to do my best to get a cave carrot for Sebastian and pause in front of Pierre's.... because there's a new request. I know it. I know what it is. I look and yup! "I need a largemouth bass". I sigh and accept it for the next day. I fail the cave carrot quest which further plummets me into Town Fisher status. And after Sebastian's request expired, while I had Clint's active for the largemouth bass, Willy posts a request for "need to keep the fishing scene alive! please catch two largemouth bass". Both large mouth bass obtained + one handed over to Clint...
I sold a lot of fish to Willy over the course of the file and Elliott has since informed me that the anchovy he bought "had a unique taste. not sure where you got it." SIR FROM THE WATERS BY YOUR SHACK. SQUARE UP BUDDY.
(Harvey and Penny have also commented on my mediocre fish they bought from Willy. As if this is my fault they go for the low quality and NOT the iridium fish I've sold to him. Like this is MY FARMER'S FAULT that they don't know how to buy quality fish.)
It's not even fall yet and Asmo is fishing level 8. Still no big coop or barn but there has been a house upgrade recently. And Asmo bought a fish pond for his farm because may as well own up to being the town fisherman (he hates it here, he wants Pelican Town to adore him and it's now his life goal to make them all love him out of petty spite).
It's honestly been the funniest bad RNG I have ever experienced.
The one game file I make without a fish-named farmer. And this is what happens. Designated town fisher.
"Surely you don't HAVE to do all the fishing requests. You know this right?" Yeah but how else am I gonna make the town need my dumbass farmer if they don't need anything but fish! How will I make the town actually appreciate his talents if the only talent he has is fishing!
Also somehow I still don't have any rings on Asmo. Like I usually get a glow ring or something while going down the mines but I am at level 30 and there have been zero rings obtained. I think I have to actually go do the night fishing bundle to get a glow ring WHICH IS HILARIOUSLY .... fishing. This is truly the only logical solution for the file so I shoulda seen it coming. Gotta wait for Fall though in order to complete that bundle.

Daily SDV- Day 6
Tumblr media
Another rainy day, but my bad daily luck meant I would spend today fishing, after doing my various chores of talking to the wizard and getting my geodes broken by Clint.
After talking to the wizard, I rushed back to the Community Center with one of each spring forage and completed my first bundle, unlocking the Fish Tank and the Pantry.
Unfortunately, I had turned on Remixed bundles.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And I got the bad ones.
Heading up to the mountains, I decided to go for the lake fish I needed, only to get the Quality Bass on my first catch.
Tumblr media
Okay then.
I pivoted to the river, where I needed 3 rain fish; a catfish and two Shad.
I caught the regular Shad easily, but it took me a while to get a gold one. During the interval, I caught three silver catfish and donated one.
Now, I moved down to the Ocean, looking for Eels, but not before making a stop by the Saloon to talk to my good friend Pam.
Tumblr media
Guess not.
I headed down to the docks, caught my Eel, then fished up plenty of Herring and Halibut. I headed home around 11:30 and made it to bed, where I stuffed my spare fish in the shipping bin and hit level 3 Foraging.
Tumblr media
Not a bad haul, I think. I'd have saved them for once I got the Fisher bonus, but tomorrow's the Traveling Cart and I want to be ready.

Submarine fishing
The story of how Julian and Bo (@boinurmom13 OC) decided to go fishing at the bottom of the sea during the Night Market.
The descent into the depths of the sea was longer than Julian had expected, but even during this half hour of descent the young man's multicolored eyes gazed out the porthole with interest and delight. An amazing variety of marvelous fish, squid and other sea creatures that Julian had never seen in his life. Combined with the darkness on the sea floor, the passing sea fish were even a little frightening, but also mesmerizing in their own right.
He had agreed to Bo's offer to go fishing with him in the submarine for a reason, because even if Julian didn't catch anything, at least the impressions from his first visit to the submarine would remain pleasant. Although it was a little late for underwater adventures, the time was already 11 p.m...
Under Willi's mentorship and thanks to Bo's advice, Julian was able to catch more fish that he had never been able to hook before. But he knew nothing about the local sea life: what kind of bait to choose for them, how difficult it was to pull the fish out? And how would they even fish in a submarine? Wouldn't water fill the bilge if there was a hole in it?
"We've reached the sandy bottom, boys!" The bass voice of the Captain made Bo and Julian pay attention to him. "Get your fishing rods ready," he added with a smile.
"Finally!" Bo, tired of waiting, took two iridium rods out of his bag: one was his, and the other was handed to Julian. He added, "I've been waiting all year to fish here again." With their rods, the two young farmers signaled to the Captain that they were ready.
"Then let's open the hatch!" Captain pulled the switch with one tug, and the huge iron door on the floor began to open. Julian jumped a little with worry and said to Bo with a hint of panic:
"Wait, wait wait wait! The water will fill the room, and-"
Bo only snorted quietly, and placing his hand on Julian's right shoulder, replied:
"Relax, bro, we'll be fine. Don't worry about the water, nothing in the hold will fill up." Seeing that his words didn't convince his friend to calm down, Bo smiled softly. "Hear about such a meaning as a "moon pool'?"
It was a good thing that curiosity was stronger that Julian's worry, so he shook his head and listened intently to Bo's explanation.
"Useful thing, serves to provide access underwater to do diving work. It's the same here, look," Bo points with his hand to a completely open area of seawater. To Julian's relief, the water really didn't fill the submarine room, which made it finally calm down. The white-haired farmer was the first to cast his fishing rod into the sea water, and the young man with heterochromia followed suit.
"So, what exactly are we going to catch?" Julian asked, shifting his attention from the float to Bo standing next to it.
"Anything we can get our hands on. There's plenty of fish, and they're not too picky about bait, but getting them out is a pain in the ass," Unlike Julian, Bo's attention was focused on the float of his rod. "All the fish could be very profitable. I'd better get some money for next spring and buy cauliflower and parsnip seeds after all. Otherwise that old fart's gonna tell me again that 'if I'm fishing instead of farming, I should be called a fisherman and not the farmer', bla bla bla." Bo parodied Lewis's voice in his own way, and so well that Julian couldn't help but chuckle quietly in response. Bo continued:
"It's mostly sea cucumbers and seaweed that get caught here, but there can also be night squid and blobfish. If you're lucky at all, you might even pull out one pearl." The white-haired fisherman was a little deep in dreamy thoughts, and did not notice at once that Julian's rod was no longer in the water, and in his hand he held as many as two large, snow-white pearls, wet with salt water.
To say that Bo was stunned is an understatement. He had so much experience in catching fish, and his friend and coworker had caught two - not one, but two! - pearls. Bo was so shocked by this that he didn't even notice that the fish that had been pecking at his hook had already managed to get off.
"Wow, Bo, look how beautiful" Like a kid who had been in a candy store, Julian kept his eyes fixed on his very lucky catch.
"Yup, very lucky... Beginner's luck." Bo muttered a bit grumpily, giving a little in to his envy.
Julian, however, had had time to look at the beautiful pearls, and held one out toward Bo. "Here."
"Huh?"
"These are for you."
"Why?"
"Why not?" smiled Julian radiantly. "Consider it a thanks for all the lessons and fishing tricks you've taught me." Bo was surprised a little at his friend's generosity, but accepted the pearls.
"Thank you," he said a little shy. Then he became sharply inspired.
"Yo, let me catch you at least that squid after all." With the same smile on his face, he once again cast the rod into the water. "Especially since I know a great recipe for fried squid rings, and with the special sauce I learned in the Gotoro Empire, it'll be a real treat." Julian only nodded in agreement and watched the professional show a master class in catching the difficult fish.
As soon as Bo felt the rod's line tighten, he quickly spooled up the reel, anticipating a rather large catch.
Only to his and Julian's surprise, a head popped up on the surface of the water.
Head... What?
Blue hair, eyes like azure shore, snow-white smile. The young mermaid was holding a caught squid, which still had a hook from Bo's fishing rod. The mermaid looked from one farmer to another and quickly removed the hook from what she thought was her prey and sank back into the abyss of sea waters. All the while, Julian and Bo stood stiffly, not uttering a word.
Bo was the first to break the silence:
"Damn... Like, If she wanted squid so badly, she could have asked for it, sheesh..." A little indignantly, he said.
Julian only snorted and shook his head. First fishing trip on a submarine for the young farmer would definitely be remembered forever.

things about rito!madara and goron!gai that nobody asked to know but i'm telling u all anyways:
despite being from the hebra region and adapted to the cold, madara rather likes the warmth of death mountain
gai was unquestionably a frequent partaker in the climbing challenges and set many of the records, including the current top record
madara often loses a few feathers when he takes flight, and gai picks them all up and keeps them. they're eventually made into a warm cloak that gai can wear to travel closer to madara's home region
gai enjoys traveling to find other hot springs in the land beyond death mountain. it's on one of these travels that he and madara meet
madara doesn't live in the rito village, nor does he visit much anymore. over time he's come to prefer the forested and mountainous regions of the land that separates rito village and death mountain, as well as the beaches to the southeast
gai had never tried any fish aside from the sizzlefin trout before meeting madara (he's not a great fisher unfortunately). they make a spiced stew with some bass madara caught and gai delights in the new experience
gai's favorite fish is the staminoka bass. madara's may be the ancient arowana or mighty porgy
