https://youtu.be/xb3WN0roewY In recent years there's been a very satisfying rediscovery of the Ewok movies, in no small part due to the presense of blurgs in The Mandalorian and the stellar job done by star Eric Walker to remind people of the place these charming TV films play in the history of the saga. Here, Dan from Secret Galaxy taes a look at these two 80's adventures, and their place in the galaxy. As the credits rolled on Return of the Jedi, George Lucas and the people at Lucasfilm were already trying to figure out how to extend the Star Wars brand. Among the many things tried were 2 made for TV movies starring The Ewoks: Caravan of Courage and The Battle For Endor. How do these movies fit into the story of Star Wars, if they do at all? Two of the most overlooked Star Wars productions are the Ewok movies from the mid 80's Caravan of Courage and The Battle For Endor, but they're about to get their day as documentary maker Tom Groves and Caravan star Eric Walker announce a Kickstarter to fund Yub Nub! The Forgotten Ewok Adventures, a documentary (Ewokumentary?) that will not only delve into the making of these charming films first screened on US TV and shown in cinemas around the world but also reveal never-before-seen behind-the-scenes footage from the making of the film. https://www.facebook.com/ericwalkermusic/posts/pfbid0euCH9Rs5fTkpsMKBF8v4YzyW3amm3XZAt2Q3YgPFZ1yh2Me9eNxecPGj1Skh895Yl Help 21-year-old Rondo Award-winning filmmaker Tom Grove preserve never-before-seen footage and images of the made-for-television Ewok movies. By contributing to this Kickstarter, you’ll be helping gain interviews with the cast and crew of both Caravan of Courage and The Battle for Endor! My mission within this filed of documentaries is to uncover stories that haven't had the chance to shine, That haven't been able to reach their full potential. Alongside my previous award winning documentary, YUB-NUB! The Forgotten Ewok adventures dives into the past of those talented cast & crew who created such thrilling stories. https://youtu.be/zn5EHiNg9gc Nearly 40 years after the making of Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure (1984), it's star, Eric Walker has never given anyone the rights to release any of his personal material until today. During the production of Caravan of Courage, the children in the cast had to balance their schoolwork with acting in the film. So during their time on the set, Lucasfilm decided that it might be an educational experience for the older children, Eric Walker (Mace) and Warwick Davis (Wicket), to be given their own camera to use between takes. This is where a large chunk of the behind-the-scenes material comes from. Warwick and Eric went around the set interviewing cast and crew as well as filming shot set-ups and, of course, messing around in between takes! This Material has been sitting in storage for years since its recording. For the first time ever, this documentary will uncover great new stories for the Star Wars legacy. Stay tuned for our upcoming chat with Tom on the next studio episode of Making Tracks and listen to Eric along with myself and Mark Mulcaster onstage at this summers London Film and Comic Con for Making Tracks LIVE.
