#Steve’s arc ends naturally and beautifully with Nancy

Hey I was wondering, do you think there's an actual possibility jonathan & steve would happen on the show? I personally would love to but I think it would be kind of weird because of Nancy being around:(

I’ve thought about this a lot, and I’m not sure whether my honest opinion is tainted by my hopes. To be real, it’s very uncommon for gay ships to become canon when there’s already a romance set up with a girl (especially with love triangles). Not to mention, the writers are probably already very attached to the romances they’ve created and envisioned.While times are changing, it’s still hard to get the proper representation when a lot of the decisions with the script are often made by observing what the ‘typical’ audience wants and what the script writers have planned. Now many might think that because it’s in the 80′s, that a gay ship would be improbable just because of the difficulties Jonathan and Steve would face from others. But honestly I think it would be a great idea to show just how even though it was often unacceptable to most, gay people do, always did, and always will exist despite the hatred and problems that are placed in front of them.Steve and Jonathan have extreme potential, and I know not everyone sees it that way. Charlie and Joe have a natural chemistry, they seem to get along well in real life and I think that a relationship between Jonathan and Steve would work out beautifully. I would only prefer it if it was a slow build, considering the differences they’ve had and the way they view one another, it would take a while for them to forgive and forget. They’re actually a lot alike, and I think that if they aren’t at least good friends by the end of next season it’s a waste of potential.Now I know I got a little sidetracked with this, and I really have no idea about the Duffer brothers intentions for the show. I don’t know their views or their ideas, and really anything could happen. Nancy is a badass by herself, and the Duffer brothers seem to understand that from the way they place some serious strong female characters in the story. I think that it would be easy for Steve and Nancy to grow apart, and for Nancy to have a period of self-discovery and independence in light of the events of ‘83. This could trigger a relationship between Steve and Jonathan if Nancy grows distant.Originally Jonathan was supposed to end up with Nancy, and instead they switched it over to Steve and gave him a redemption arc simply because Joe was so charming. If they’re that flexible in their ideas then I suppose anything could happen. Me, personally… I always have this little flame of hope, but I really don’t think it’ll happen unfortunately. I wish I could be more optimistic but most of the shows I’ve seen in the past usually stomp out any dreams of gay relationships actually occurring.
