Tumblr media Tumblr media
I began to expand the colony, finding little caves, digging up to them and then putting some apartments in ‘em.  Good times.
Tumblr media
I finally have twenty tenants, which is rad!

SD I Lab & Colony
Tumblr media
It was time for some extractions as well as to attempt to expand my crops.  Specifically, I needed Mutavisk.
Tumblr media
I plan on preserving this natural demon face in my mountain, and I want to fill it in with magma blocks or something, not sure, gotta figure it out.
Tumblr media
It is worth noting that I got my 10th tenant, so the colony was doin well. While waiting on the mutavisk to grow I just kind of made more and more apartments for the colony.
Tumblr media
I looked through my blocks and figured out what I wanted to do with the face, which made it nice and creepy and without the cheap look of torches.
Tumblr media
And finally I was on my way to ez-breezy-power times.  Well, not breeze-y, actually, more like brighty.  Anyway, it’s a big step toward a more proficient lab.  I am thinking it’s time for some kind of re-design for my lab, the castle vibe just isn’t cuttin the ambiance I want.

Sualocin Doppler I - Colony
Tumblr media
The apartments began to take shape off the various cave hallways. And finally, it seemed like it was coming together enough to slap down some furniture and a deed.
Tumblr media
And we had our first tenant!  A glitch? I believe their name is Cogwire?
Tumblr media
And our second! All the furniture I’ve stolen is finally getting good use!
Tumblr media
So very quickly I began adding apartments and I used this cash register (I think??) in order to secure a merchant!  I actually bought this cash register, so I’m glad it worked.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After a quick quest the crew now hosted a Medic, which is the dream team, ain’t it?  Chiyo & Greg, the best support team a kitten could ask for!
Tumblr media
So with a colony with about 7 tenants (and room to grow), a crew of 2, I feel ready to explore a bit more dangerous planets. My gear is still tier 4 but with a couple of explorations I should be able to gear up for more dangerous planets.  I need to make several EPPs and get my gear organized.
Tumblr media
I very much love the sunrise at the colony.

Sualocin Doppler System & Ship Building
With a base ready it was time to planet hop.  First it was back to SD III - b, the planet I originally crashed on.  For Bees.  Got some bees, got some gold too, which I’ll be using for my Vel’uuish ship. I began building a dirt shell that would end up replaced by the gold hull panels eventually.  I may have night vision, but I hate all the enemies at night, so I’d much rather flag it and go back to the ship to work.
Tumblr media
Somewhere around the time where I started putting in the panels on the ship I also got black dye (for tinted glass) and decided to dye my outfit.  I want pink dye for the wig... Yeeees.  Pink hair.  Adorable.
Tumblr media
I got the pink wig and the front of my ship at a satisfactory position.  I need titanium so that I can make the bunks I want and then be able to measure my crew room with them...  So the rest of the ship is just going to continue to be this way until we have titanium.  To find titanium!!!
And also more gold, we’re totally out.  I want to completely plunder what’s in the current system, so we revisited some planets just to mine and rip them apart.  What are they gunna do?  Attempt to murder me??
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Well, attempt is the key word there. I went systematically planet to planet, the second was also a dessert, so not much to see there.  The third, though, was a bog, with titanium!  The threat level was almost 4, and my gear only level 2, but the only way to get even tier 3 would be to get titanium, so it’s time to risk the catnip.
Tumblr media
I ended up getting distracted by Golden Saint bees, caught a few, established a little colony of them, commandeered a home for a checkpoint, and found a Hylotl Ruins.
Tumblr media
There was also a glitch fortress.  Both of these proved very difficult and took many respawns.  After the surface was conquered it was time for the much more intense sub-surface.  It was quickly decided, fuck this god damn fucking worm infested planet, I fucking hate it, fuck.
I decided to hop systems because, god, that was not a nice experience.

Barren Planet - Sualocin Doppler I
So one of the very first things that I noticed in the system I had ended up in was that there was a barren planet RIGHT there by the sun, very long days, normal gravity, and absolutely all by it’s lonesome.  Ripe for the colonizing.  There are exactly two things I think I need to set up right away; a decent lab, with colony to supplement it, and a decent ship with area for crew and a mini-lab (or full lab, undecided).
I’ve looked into the ship aspect and it’s going to take quite a chunk of gold for the hull style I want.  As cute as this micro-rust bucket is, it’s just for now.  The colony seems much more feasible now.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It turned out to be a bit more inhabited than initially thought, and the GPS tells me there are erichius deposits in the asteroids which is neato.  It will still make a good place to set up shop, at least until we find a better place, so I marked a relatively flat location that I can begin building at.
Tumblr media
After grabbing some supplies I set to work and definitely devoted waaaay too much time to this.
Tumblr media
The Lab was set up for the most part, with a small turret in the works for solar power.  It was then time to make space for other expansions, bees, farming, etc.
Tumblr media
Bees would end up being an important aspect, this I know, they’ll open up the world if I just care for them a bit.  The farming area was built under the bees with the plans of getting carbon for tubing.
Tumblr media
With a small room made for any livestock and then an additional room for treasure (so I could get this golden egg out of my inventory), I think I’m ready to call this base mostly complete.  I have plans for SD-I, I have big big plans for SD-I.
I also have plans to work on my ship while plundering this system.  We need gold and these planets are ripe for the mining laser.
Tumblr media
The final touch was to finish the beginner FU quests and get the base a teleporter.

Landing Planet - Sualocin Doppler III - B
Tumblr media
Unknown planet, but broken ship = need help.
Tumblr media
The first base was established, it has it’s own healing pool in a small cave. After helping this dude I was guided by a grandma in a floating wheelchair to repair my engine so I could hopefully find other systems, explore... and also do whatever she wants me too... I’m going to guess she’s not as mobile as she once was.
Tumblr media
She sent me off to find Tungsten, and luckily there was a desert planet right next door!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fun was had, Tungsten was retreived, and I was one step closer to interstellar travel.  Moon was spooky, for sure.  But soon we had that FTL drive and were free to roam space.

Rastaban TR33 II-a & SD-I Colony
Rastaban TR33 II - a
Tumblr media
So, a tarball planet was necessary in order to find tar blocks, with which to make asphalt, with which to make the colony with.
Tumblr media
I don’t want the colony tenants in my space so I picked a spot a bit east of my lab in a nice mountain that has a few cave structures that I might be able to work with.  The asphalt was for an underground tunnel to quickly get over there.
Tumblr media
After some math the core was placed and building of the colony on SD-I began.
