With Suzune collapsing, the pre-finale of Selection Project begins, as the girls try to keep the audience from learning about the situation along with Sumipanda’s montage of cut scenes, only to have to reveal it in the end since SuzuRena didn’t make it in time

With Suzune still unconcious, it seems like there will have to be an extra broadcast later for Suzune’s wish to sing again to come true

Let’s hope that she has a heart-to-heart with her idol Akari-chan as they meet

And that 9-tie does manage to reach 2 million yells so they can debut~!

I am a sentient plant from the planet Ataecin. Our species is called Thallian, and we learned to shapeshift after we started getting visitors from other planets. It was both a survival mechanism and a way to relate to the humanoids that were visiting us. Thallians start out as plants, growing from seeds in the ground as a plant does. When we mature into full growth, we learn the art of shapeshifting, starting off with a face, and eventually recreating humanoid forms. We always retain at least a small detail of the plant we look like in our birth form, which is why I have flower hair in every form I've taken

Now, how did I end up on Earth?

Well, that's a story in itself. We, the Thallian race, were doing our own space exploration, inspired by the visitors that we have come across. I was on a mission to colonize a new planet we had discovered that was uninhabited by sentient species, for no other reason than the adventure of it. Of course, something went wrong. While we were on our way to the planet, our ship was struck by a wayward asteroid. This caused some heavy damage to our reactor core, which ended up melting down. I managed to get to an escape pod, and survived the explosion. However, my pod ended up in a wormhole, was flung across the entire galaxy, and ended up near Earth. My pod crash-landed off the coast of Massachusetts, and I ended up meeting humans that hid me from the government so I wouldn't end up experimented on. I've had an interesting life here, discovered the internet, and video games, and found some other cool humans, and now I'm here, streaming and drawing and trying to just have a good time. Sure, I've had my ups and downs, but that's life here on Earth. And since I can't get back to my home planet, I'm just gonna try and do what I can to make the most of it.

Selection Project, online un primo video promo dell’anime

Daisuke Ono e Saori Hayami si uniscono al cast della serie.

In occasione dell’AnimeJapan 2021 è stato pubblicato un primo video promozionale di “Selection Project” che presenta brevemente le nove protagoniste��della serie animata, parte dell’omonimo progetto corssmediale lanciato di recente da Kadokawa, che unisce idol, audizioni e reality show.

L’anime arriverà sulle televisioni giapponesi nel corso del 2021 e mette assieme un variegato cast di doppiatrici, molte delle quali sono al loro primo vero ruolo di rilievo.

Al cast già annunciato si vanno ad aggiungere:

Sumipanda: Daisuke Ono

Akari Amasawa: Saori Hayami 

La storia segue le nove ragazze che hanno passato le fasi di qualifica regionale per l’annuale Selection Project, un popolare talent show che ogni estate regala l’opportunità di diventare idol a ragazze provenienti da tutta la nazione. I voti del pubblico determinano chi vince e chi perde la competizione-provino.

L’anime è diretto da Daisuke Hiramaki (Asteroid in Love, New Game!) presos lo studio DOGA KOBO (Wataten! An Angel Flew Down to Me, Sing “Yesterday” for Me) e la sceneggiatura è curata da Yuuya Takahashi (Luck & Logic, Lupin III: L'avventura italiana). Il design dei personaggi è ad opera di Kanna Hirayama (Rent-A-Girlfriend), mentre il produttore musicale dietro al progetto è Youhei Kisara (Love Live! School idol project). Le parti in computer grafica sono realizzate da DANDELION ANIMATION STUDIO.

Meet the Nine Idol Candidates in SELECTION PROJECT TV Anime Trailer

  Idol aspirations abound in a new trailer for SELECTION PROJECT, an upcoming original TV anime about a group of nine young women who are competing to become professional idol singers via a reality TV show. The preview video (below) introduces the main candidates.

  Additionally, two new cast have been announced for the show: voice actor Daisuke Ono plays Sumipanda, the general master of ceremonies of the "SELECTION PROJECT" reality TV show, while voice actor Saori Hayami plays Akari Amasawa, a legendary idol and the first winner of the "SELECTION PROJECT" competition.

    In the series, "SELECTION PROJECT" is a nationwide idol audition reality show held every summer, and it is considered to be the biggest gateway to success for aspiring idols. The girls who have won the nine regional qualifying rounds across the country live together in a special facility for about a month during their summer vacation while challenging themselves in audition battles. Only those who make it through all the rounds and survive will be able to debut as idols.

  SELECTION PROJECT is directed by Daisuke Hiramaki and features animation production by Doga Kobo. The series is scheduled to broadcast in Japan in 2021.
