Who: Open
Where: The Napoleon House
Suresh stood by an open window listening to the sounds of jazz drifting through the the evening air. He was holding a glass of champagne that he hadn't taken a drink of yet. He'd done a turn about the room and had found a spot to just look and drink in the feel of people enjoying themselves. Turning his head to the person that had approached, "Lovely evening."

HALLOWEEN, 2024.
AS PRESENTED BY THE PALAZZO
PART 2
At 2am, the music still blasts loudly through the Palazzo rooms, though most start to find their way home. Hostility was in the air this chill October night — a sort of tension that could be cut through with a knife. So many hands shaken, that could also stab you in the back. Such is New York City.
OOC INFO
Part 2/2.
This is is a fade-out ending. This means you can and are encouraged to still write starters during Halloween as your characters exits the event, but that you can also start threads post-Halloween as you see fit. <3 Whatever the case, we encourage you to incorporate Part 2 aspects and narratives into your writing.
Writers are not required to wrap Part 1, or any threads they don't wish to.
We encourage you to plot with your fellow players what your characters, as well as any plots and/or conflicts that may happen. For heavy conflicts, please do make sure to message the main about it first — and if you have any ideas you’d like to suggest for us to include, we’d love to hear about it too! <3
As always, should there be any questions or need of assistance with any plots, please feel free to contact us and we’ll be happy to help you!
NARRATIVE INFO
We highly encourage characters, especially those in gangs, to engage in and react to the gang’s respective plots going on currently — this can be through open or closed starters. Feel free to use your imagination and let ideas flow as you get those dynamics going!
THE BROTHERHOOD faces new tension with THE SYNDICATE — a rivalry that had been, for the past couple years, entirely extinct. With a valuable Syndicate member dead and the Brotherhood leader injured in a fight previous to Halloween night, everyone is on alert for a potential new conflict.
For the first time, THE CARTEL watches while the world burns around them. At last, they may actually enjoy themselves. At last, they are not the target. In fact, their support is now their best bargaining chip — which organization will they stand behind?
THE GOVERNMENT also undergoes turbulence. Elections are soon, and numbers fluctuate. The MEDIA is ablaze, and CIVILIANS are reminded there's a choice to be made.
Be it for government or gang politics, throughout the night, fights break out. LAW ENFORCEMENT is faced with the option to either intervene, or look the other way.
PLOT CLAIM
To claim a plot, just message the main with the one you'd like + character name you're claiming it for.
[open] THE ONE EVERYONE HAD THEIR EYES ON... for better. — The character everyone at the party kept looking to, for a positive reason. The writer who claims this may choose the reason why.
[open] THE ONE EVERYONE HAD THEIR EYES ON... for worse. — The character everyone at the party kept looking to, for a negative reason. The writer who claims this may choose the reason why.
[open] YOU SHOULD HAVE SEEN... — A character who got into a messy fight. In this fight, they got the upper hand. The writers who claim this may choose the reason for the fight.
[open] ...THE OTHER GUY — The character who got into a fight with the character above. They put up a good fight, but got out looking far worse. The writers who claim this may choose the reason for the fight.
[Suresh Lal] GOT A SECRET? — The gang character who overheard a conversation they shouldn't have, now they're in possession of a rumor that they can spread... if they'd like. The writer who claims this will be sent information about what was overheard.
Have fun, and thank you to all those who participated! <3

Closed Event Starter For: Suresh
Wringing out her hair, Aysun was still catching her breath as she stood looking out at the water. When she first turned up in Lunar Cove a little over a month ago, she never would've imagined taking part in something like...this, but there was was, soaked to the bone after the canoeing finals. Aysun wasn't the sporty type, but she knew how to get around in the outdoors, was comfortable on and in the water. Hell, she might've even said she was a good canoer , but that was under normal, human circumstances. The addition of a bunch of competitive supernaturals with powers she couldn't even comprehend sure changed things up. That was how, despite making good progress initially, she soon found her canoe upended seemingly out of nowhere, dumping her into the cool water. In the aftermath of the final, Aysun had wandered off to be on her own for a while, to recharge her social battery. The gentle motion of the water had always been soothing to her, and she closed her eyes to take it in. Until she heard a splash. And then another, closer this time. Opening her eyes, Aysun squinted out over the water, trying to identify the origin. And then she saw- wait was that a...tail?

closed starter for @xsureshxsoundsx
where: his suite at the emerald hotel
≽·≼
They waited with impatience outside the door, and when it opened, hovered slightly to hold a dark red box with the Ferragamo label tantalizingly visible and out of reach as they gazed down at the siren. "Good morning, and I'm glad you're alive. Now please explain yourself. You gave them your money? Your money, Suresh?" Kui drifted a little lower to get fully in his face with all their disapproval. "And tell me, where was all your ABBA and your charm and your cleverness when they were putting a—a great bloody hole outside of our hotel?" they asked, with intentionally British inflection.

finn x mc (vivianne)
prompt: “you look exhausted. go to bed, i’ll straighten up and take care of everything else.”
———
Your heartbeat was ringing loudly in your ears, and your head felt like it was going to fall off of your neck any second now. But somehow, you had still kept your composure in front of the Islanders.
“You fucking cunt!”
Alfie quickly swung an arm around Kat’s middle, holding her back from jumping onto you and, honestly, rightfully beating your ass.
“Ladies, ladies, ladies! Now really isn’t the best time to fight!”
Sure, Alfie was right. You had just lost a couple, and even though it had been Arlo and Pete and nobody really seemed to care, Finn definitely could’ve picked a better timing to drop the bomb on Kat.
His eyes found yours, and for the first time in these past couple of weeks, there was a hint of despair in them.
“Oh, Alfie. Sweet innocent Alfie,” The sarcasm in her voice caused Dana and Suresh to let out chuckles, “You dumbing fucking idiot,” Kat’s word caused Meera to now also jump into action, making you roll your eyes.
“C’mon Kat, not cool. Alfie’s just trying to help out, he hasn’t doing anything wrong.”
Kat’s eyes widened at that, and her stern gaze turned from you, to Meera.
“Alfie hasn’t done anything wrong?!”
Before Meera could even respond, Kat continued on on her rampage about Alfie.
“For starters, if that manwhore could’ve kept it at one woman that’d be great! He always wants what he can’t have, don’t ya Alf?” A fake friendly tone was heard in her voice at that.
You could see Alfie working out an appropriate answer to that question, but even you were confused on what she meant.
“First it was me, than it was Vivianne, and now Meera. Actually, scratch that, don’t think I haven’t been noticed the obvious eye-fucking you and Vivianne have been having,”
Oopsie?
“You what?!” With a quick turn of her head, Meera’s gaze was now fixed on you.
You cleared your throat, opening your mouth to speak but your courage was short-lived as Suresh thought it was now a perfect moment to speak.
“I think we should all calm down and give Vivianne some space.”
Dana’s eyebrow perked up, and she sternly crossed her arms, “Oh get fucked, Suresh. Like you haven’t been cracking on with Gabi.”
Lulu’s face turned an adorable shade of pink, before her eyes roamed around Gabi and Suresh.
“That’s not…”
“Save it, Gabi.”
A gasp escaped Kat’s mouth at this, and she focused her attention on the new found drama beside her, “Yesss, Lulu, c’mon, girl!”
Before Gabi or Lulu could open their mouths, Suresh chimed in, causing a loud commotion in the garden. The other Islanders joined in, starting a screaming match about their own problems with their partners.
Finn’s eyes found yours again, and he nodded his head subtly to the direction of the rooftop. You nodded, knowing that the fight down here was going to take quite a while to settle down. But hey, at least it provided you and Finn with a quick escape.
———
You groaned as you plopped down on the couch, Finn sitting down next to you.
He brushed some hairs out of your face, a look of admiration in his eyes, “You look exhausted. Go to bed, I’ll straighten up and take care of everything else.”
You shook your head, “And let you face the lioness down there on your own? No way, Finn. We’re in this together now.”
He smiled at that, and if you looked closely enough there was a subtle blush forming on his cheeks. A smile grew on your lips at that.
“You’re blushing. It’s cute.”
He groaned, trying to hide his face behind his hands, “Viv, don’t ever call me cute again,”
You chuckled at that, returning the favor of brushing a hand through his hair. He slowly removed his hands from his face, now looking deep in to your eyes before completely closing the distance between your lips.
One of his hands softly caresses your face, and the other holds onto the back of your neck, tracing figures. His tongue finds its way into your mouth, making you let out a groan.
Softly biting his bottom lip, the kiss comes to an end. You look up at him, and notice the blush from before was more apparent now, and his lips had even gotten a bit swollen.
“I’ve always wanted to do that,” He breathlessly said.
And for the first time ever since coming to the villa, you gave a honest, heartfelt smile.

when: attack aftermath [ the emergence of Suresh ] where: just outside of the farm who: open starter! pls come and say hi <3 tw: descriptions of death/corpses
Some grave amount of absolute fuckery had obviously occurred.
Grave being the optimal word, given that the corpse of the fellow on the ground at his feet wasn’t in one. A corpse - just beginning to attract insects. A feast for the flora and fauna. It’s half covered by bushes, so whether he died here, or crawled away from an unfortunate incident only to meet his fate at this spot isn’t obvious at first glance. Nor is the cause of his death... But given the grim, open eyed visage... It’s safe to say it wasn’t a natural one.
Not that anyone ever really passed naturally on Meridium.
The island ate, swallowed, tore, clawed and brutalised the survivors here. Like a rabid dog trying to rid itself of fleas - biting and scratching at the irritant on it’s back.
It only made Gabriel dig his heels in deeper.
But uncertainty - could be an animal ravage... Could be a fucking sky dragon given the shit he’d seen so far. Uncertainty enough to have him pull a three foot machete from a leather strap at his waist.
Silence. Listening for any sounds that might reveal the perpetrator of the unfortunates recent demise. Not air attuned but acute enough to hear a close range attack. What he does hear, are footsteps. A shadow of another person peeling onto the edge of perception.
“Is this what we’re doing now?”
An idle question - posed grim and deep, gesturing with the rounded end of the machete toward the spectacle. Of course the ‘we’ is ironic coming from him. He tends not to consider himself part of that overall collective. Even coming this close to the farm was a rare occasion. A journey based on need rather than desire for any kind of interaction. He’d come for some supplies. He’d found -- a fucking mess.
“Just leaving bodies to rot where they fall.”
Shrugging off his outer shirt, he crouches next to the corpse, fingers turning the torso toward him. It’s clearer now. Neck broken... No animal did this. The shirt is draped across the face of the body - perhaps to spare the other from a gruesome sight. Perhaps to mask the twist of his blade into a better grip should they turn out to be the one who separated soul from body - and weren’t quite sated with the taste of one death on their tongue...
“You know anything about this? -- Speak up.”

MI vs CSK Qualifier-1: Match Review
The winner of tonight’s match will book a ticket to the grand finale of VIVO IPL 2019. The first qualifier match is going to happen in Chennai. The table topper Mumbai Indians will face Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk.
Mumbai Indians are so-called slow starter. This season they have started their journey with some initial losses. Later, they have maintained the momentum and topped the table with nine wins from fourteen matches. The players of Mumbai Indians are with high confidence and are ready to face CSK in the first qualifier match of VIVO IPL 2019. They have got three big wins to form their last four wins. They have got a thriller win versus Sunrisers Hyderabad in the super over.

In the previous match against KKR, MI had fielded their best playing in 11 in this season. Tonight they may look for a third spinner against CSK as per Chepauk’s pitch condition. Chennai pitch always suits spin attack.
The defending champion is the first team to qualify for the playoffs in VIVO IPL 2019. They had a good start by registering seven wins out of their first eight matches. Later they had lost the momentum, but they could successfully place themselves in the top two on the point table. CSK has won only two matches from their last six matches. In the previous match, they were beaten by KXIP in Mohali. There was a point, where KXIP was on the verge to win the match in 14.2 overs. But CSK’s spinners had done an excellent job to extend the match and maintain the second spot on the point table.
Also Read Indian Premier League: Winners List.
Excluding skipper MS Dhoni the middle order batsmen of CSK are not performing well. In this season, the opening partnership has surpassed 50-runs once. The injury of Kedar Jadhav is a big burden for CSK’s management. They may look for Murali Vijay for opening batsman tonight.
Mumbai Indians have met CSK 26 times in IPL. Mumbai has won 15 matches against CSK so far. CSK could manage to win 11 wins only. Since 2015, they have played eight matches with each other. MI has won 6 matches, and CSK has won 2 matches. In this season, MI has beaten CSK in both home and away matches. But in knockout matches, they have met seven times, and CSK has won 4 times.
The winner of tonight’s match will get a ticket to the final of VIVO IPL 2019, and the loser will have another chance in qualifier two match. The loser will meet the winner of eliminator match, and the winner of the match will meet the winner of Qualifier 1 in the final in Hyderabad.

Time has come when we look at grassroots workers and craftsmen and women as the future to revitalize our rural economy." The Pashmina Goat Project (PGP) model comprises multiple ventures. A network of self help groups; a fund for master craftsmen; a rural school of leadership for women; and a market aggregator that provides warehousing, branding, marketing and distribution services to last-mile skilled workers. Over the last few years, PGP has had a domino effect in climate-threatened villages across the region and thousands of craftsmen and women have come under the umbrella of this movement of Babar Afzal. This Award brings some of the most remarkable change makers from Asia onto a common platform. These social entrepreneurs are promising change makers and self-starters, with a strong inclination towards addressing the most pertinent needs of the marginalized communities in both scalable and sustainable ways. Their endeavours encapsulate alleviating poverty, hunger, gender inequality, promoting women empowerment, education. These social entrepreneurs are the torch-bearers who have taken the onus of working towards managing micro-finance needs and daunting challenges like climate change. THE WAITER
The red shirt which was purchased five years ago was fit now. Mother always buys the clothes which can last at least 5 years. The amount for the new shirt will take that period of time. Many occasions had come in between, but the mother did not see the suitable platform to use it. She herself did not know that it would be used in a special condition. The dress code was only for the shirt and fortunately it was red, otherwise the boy might miss the opportunity of being a Waiter. Pant had a hole in pocket, but this was not the issue. The set of clothes had been cleaned by both mother and sister. It had been put under the pillow overnight and somehow it was giving look of ironed cloth. He had never worn the ironed cloth, it gives an artificial look and people of his society start staring. He was not so happy with the directions of his manager but the new job compelled him to do so. The half broken mirror showed him the complete look from the distance. The shirt was almost new and the Pant was also not so unmatched.
The mother had taken leave after a very long period. Her mistress was very kind but not for attendance. Rich people usually get fond of the food prepared by their maid and this prohibits the servants enjoying the special occasions. The boy had witnessed the missing of mother in many gathering. “You are not going to work in other house too long.” He said. Mother smiled but she knew how the manager treats his fellow one. She knew how the cold wind of winter at midnight freezes the body. The dress code has prevented the boy to wear the jacket which he had got from his cousin two year ago after being used for 3 years. The boy was happy for his future unaware of the bad people around.
The marriage ceremony was arranged in an open garden. Different-different shops were there. He started counting, they were in almost everywhere of the garden. Can a person visit all shops, not to talk of eating? Being a cold winter night with very dense fog from the very beginning of the night, the lights were arranged so they can overcome the darkness and the blowers were working against cold. He never heard about such things which can challenge winter. The world is not full of problems like he had faced, it has the solution for almost all. All you need is not to born in a poor family.
The manager, a tall handsome boy with clean shave, wearing a black coat pant just gave a blank look to him. He bowed his head with folded hands as had been directed by Mother. He was ordered to handle the shop of Rasmalai. He wanted to jump but could not. His liking for Rasmalai was very obvious before his relatives.
He remembered the moment when first time he had tasted the Rasmalai. Suresh uncle was coming from Delhi after five years. The whole family was waiting for him. The celebration was going to start with the things he would bring with himself. Suresh knew it very well. Last Monday he had visited the chor market of Delhi buying at least one item for everyone. It made him to wake up @3’O clock in the morning. The buyers were very different than the usual one, having a very loud voice and dil-dol body. The trucks were getting empty in a while. He was at very distance from the point of sell. He tried to reach there but his thin body did not support his move. After getting thrash from many, he somehow managed to buy things from the corner shops.
The auto driver was making every effort to reach exactly to the gate. The open sewerage line and fallen electricity wire stopped him to doing so. He was not in mood of missing the sweets for which he was very much sure. Suresh assured him that he would deliver the sweets to his home for all family members. Carrying a very good reputation in the village, Suresh’s words could be trusted. A broad smile had come in his face while the black teeth with cutting of vegetable eaten in last night had come out.
Everyone was busy in selecting the item for himself. The chance was not going to come shortly. The mother had taken the leave that day too. She was very happy with yellow and red strip Sharee with matching blouse. The toys were working well as it had been safeguarded very well through the entire journey. The boy was given a blue half pant and a T-shirt. A mix feeling of satisfaction and un-satisfaction was there. The sweets tried to eliminate it. The small-small Rasgullas in the mixture of some dry fruit and milk took everyone’s attention. It was the first time when he had tasted that sweet. He was given only one piece, but it was the best of all sweets he had tasted till now. The spunchy sweet has taken him to the imagination of taste, how better it can be.
Today he was in front of a big plate full of Rasmalai. The very mild scent of sweets which only he could feel increased his hunger. The party was started. The starter was being served. Not a single person was even looking for his shop. He made a rough idea and reach the findings; at least ¼ of it going to be saved. He had heard the whisper of two of his counterparts, “Saved meals always consumed by waiters”. The rich did not take it for the next day as his mother does. He remembered the reaction of his sister while having the sweet at that time. She was wondering for a small piece after eating which was given to her. “I would take one full plate of sweet for home too.” Now the dinner was being served but not a single person till now approaching him. Had the people not known about the taste of Rasmalai? If asked, he could explain. He found his calculation wrong. It must be at least half of the big plate. He could take two plates for his home.
The first person was now before him. The boy felt very happy, he was getting bored for 3 hours standing alone. He found him as a company. “How did the sweet taste?” He asked. “I have not tasted it sir.” The boy replied respectfully. “Okay give me one plate.” The boy took a plate and filled it as there should not be any space. “It is very delicious, usually I don’t like sweet but it has a very good taste and also a very good combination of sugar.” The man was saying while taking the second plate. He ordered for the third plate but his mistress standing behind him was looking very concern for him. He was ready to take an extra injection of diabetes that night but the mistress was not ready. The boy looked in his eyes. There was a sign of missing something which he did not want to lose. “Can this sweet be tastier than the uncle’s one, may be uncle had brought those from a small shop. The boy was unable to imagine the better taste than the one he had tasted.
It was the last day of Durga Puja; he with his family member and friends had visited the nearby fair. As supposed, he was not interested in worshiping nor the Goddess wanted to have. Guilty people fold their hand everywhere, when you are not from that category, no need for it and the God will not angry with you. He came out of temple in no time. Being leader of his group, he decided to reach every corner of the fair. Shops with toys, fake jewelry, coated items and Sweets; one thing was common in every shop; “the dazzling lights.” Shopkeeper selling sweets were the busiest. Hot oil, sugar chasni and a sweet smell were attracting many buyers. He counted money, it was Rs. 30. He had to select only one of them, so he gathered patience from inside and did not deviate from the sounded requests. The one shop keeper having a crowd before his shop was very free. The sweet was looking very strange. Everyone wanted to have a look on it, it must be very expensive. The small-small Rasgullas sailing on the surface of white coloured liquid, perhaps mixture of milk, not sure. The boy knew it, he asked the price. The shopkeeper looked at his cloth. The shirt with tore pocket and homemade sticking and pant having holes where it should not be and the special occasion. The shopkeeper had understood his condition. “It costs Rs. 50/plate” he replied. “My uncle had once brought it and it does not taste so better” his friends were convinced but he himself not. Though the sweet does not smell very intense, only he could feel it, he managed saliva from coming out of mouth and left the shop.
People after having finished dinner were coming at his shop. They all were liking it very much ordering two or three plates in common. “Why these people had not visited the shop before? Is there any obligation to have it after the dinner only? Girls often like food which can bring tears in their eyes but the taste of Rasmalai had challenged the natural order of taste. The manager shifted his attention to his shop. He was staring from the distance. The boy did not want to take chance; he was very busy in pleasing the guest.
Almost half of the plate of sweets had been served. No. of people standing before his shop was now a very few. One, two, three………………total eight. It was expected to consume 16 plates of sweets but counting stopped at 10 plates. The boy was relaxing now. The time when he was serving sweets, his heartbeats were not in normal condition. He did not want to lose the smile of his mother and sister. One plate for everyone in the family was secure now.
Father of girl was very angry. He was shouting at a very loud voice. Relatives rushed toward him and tried to console. “It is almost half the night, then why the Barati has not come yet.” He asked angrily. Man standing behind him was representing the bridegroom’s side. “The fog is not allowing a fast movement of cars.” he said. “Then the time for leaving the place should be 3 hours before the actual one.” Father said angrily. “They are almost about to come.” He defended. A mix sound of horns of cars could be listened from the distance. In the midnight of a winter night, the possibility of being other was very less. The Barati has arrived. The long journey had made them all hungry and sleepy. All waiters turned to their work. The boy now knew that his turn would come after the dinner. He was standing quietly. Two insect were on the bulb which was glowing in front of him. They were feeling the warmth of the bulb. The coolness of air has increased. His body was shivering. Counting the people, he consoled himself to have a plate of sweet at least. The people were in hurry; starter-dinner-deserts-and the best one sweets.
Rush was increasing for the Rasmalai. The manager was once again at his previous place. The boy wanted to serve one plate for himself before serving them. The staring eyes of manager did not give him that confidence. The depleting plate was the reason for sweating in the cold winter night. Being the last dish, all people were taking much more than it was expected. Only two pieces of sweets were left in the very big plate of steel. “I would take only half of it this time and one & half would be distributed between the mother and sister.”
Now the manager was ordering for closing the shops. The shops of starter were being closed first. The sequence was same as while serving. His number would be last. It did not irritate him. At last he managed to have 2 pieces of Rasmalai and lots of liquid. He would receive a very warm welcome at home. Interrupting of sound sleep of mother and sister would be awarded.
In the very thick fog, two black colored images appeared. They were two aunties of rich families. Their jewellery and deep makeup have been successfully delivering their duties. “They must be coming for chat.” Yes, He was right. The direction confirmed it. The sudden increasing in heartbeats got normal. The waiter serving chat was not happy at all at their appearance. He was shutting down the shops, the burner was off. He knew that people from rich families always take hot food, no matter how is the atmosphere it. He tried lighting of the burner, but the cold wind was very reluctant. His hand was shivering, he decided to use matchsticks but the cover of it had got watered. He had to use the other lighter meanwhile the aunties were screaming at him. He got very irritate, “After the dinner what is the purpose of taking chat?” He decided to teach them a lesson. The bottle containing the red chili powder was in his hand now.
“It is too spicy and pungent, it seems to be the mixture of chilies, you bastard fellow” she was very angry at him. “Sorry madam, it was not deliberated.” He begged sorry hiding his smile. Tears were started coming out of her eyes, she threw the plate, drank one bottle of water in a sip but the pungency was still in the mouth. Her friend looked around “why are not you taking some Rasmalai, only two piece of it has left but it would make you very comfortable.” she suggested “Yes, good idea.”“Oye waiter give me the Rasmalai”. “No, I can’t” but the staring eyes of the manager stopped the words from coming out. The bulb got fused, it did not want to be the witness, there was complete dark, and the insects left the place. The cold wind had felt his increased heartbeat; it started blowing with all his might to change her mind. The fog also got very dense, almost raining but she was also very stubborn. She held the shawl very tight with one hand and the other one was holding the plate. The wind was very unsuccessful in doing its job. It stopped blowing. Sweat started coming from his body. His hand was shivering till now. The smile of mother and sister just lost, they shut the door leaving him outside. The manager was now ordering him to close the shop. In the thick dense fog, a drop of tears was not noticed.

India eye winning start to English summer against Ireland
Dublin: Refreshed and rejuvenated after a much deserved break, India will look to start the English summer on a high when they take the field in the first of the two-match T20I series against Ireland here on Wednesday.
The T20Is against Ireland are only a precursor to the sterner tests in England, where the Virat Kohli-led side will tour next to play three T20Is, three One-day Internationals (ODI) and five Test matches.
This is the first time a full-strength Indian team will be seen in action, since the tour of South Africa earlier this year.
Kohli, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah and Mahendra Singh Dhoni were rested for the T20 tri-series in Sri Lanka in March, while the former trio also missed the one-off Test against Afghanistan in Bengaluru recently.
Going into the first T20I, Kohli and the team management will have a sweet dilemma over the selection of the playing XI.
With a set opening combination in Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma, and Kohli at No.3, Lokesh Rahul seems a likely starter for the No.4 spot in the absence of Ajinkya Rahane.
It will be interesting to see whom among the trio of Suresh Raina, Dinesh Karthik and Manish Pandey get a game with Dhoni and all-rounder Hardik Pandya filling up the No.6 and 7 spots.
While Raina also provides a sixth bowling option combined with his batting, India would also not want to drop Karthik, who is in sizzling form since March. It could mean that Pandey eventually warms the bench.
On the bowling front, Kohli will be tempted to field both leg-spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav, giving them an early taste of conditions here.
The pace battery will most likely be led by the established duo of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah even as Umesh Yadav will be eager to be back in the shortest version for India for the first time since 2012.
With Pandya as the third seaming option, it will also be interesting to see whether medium pacer Siddharth Kaul makes his India debut after an impressive stint in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
For the hosts, skipper Gary Wilson, former captain William Porterfield and all-rounder Kevin O’Brien are the ones to have T20 experience against an Indian team.
Meanwhile, 31-year-old Punjab-born off-spinner Simranjit Singh will enjoy the spotlight of playing against his erstwhile nation.

Kui watched the chaos of the night with a stomach full of butterflies and dread, invisible from the upper story window of Blush overlooking the street. When a familiar shape appeared out front, they sighed, opened the latch on the window, and glided swiftly down from their perch to land beside Suresh. They emerged from invisibility with a disapproving scowl and the jangle of keys, wings shivering with irritation and concern. “Come inside, you silly tall man—don’t you know it’s a holiday? It’s dangerous to be out alone! What are you even doing here?” They unlocked the security shutters and opened them with rattle to allow temporary entrance for both fae. “I’ll put the kettle on, so you can take five minutes and fill me in on what the hell is happening. But I refuse to put my neck on the line for someone else’s drama this time. If I get shot with an arrow again because I came out to get you, you’ll owe me more than a few bills in a jar.” Kui shook their head primly, mouth a tight line.
