to be fair I haven't seen nor remember a comic where he does this, but I do remember one comic or panel in which jean grey was able to plant a seed of hope into someone so they'd be able to see mutants in a new light.

Charles' power is beautiful but scary

People don't realize it because Charles would never abuse his powers because of his morals and conscience.

But what if he didn't?

All he would have to do is control someone's mind and be like "Do me a favor and jump off this building" and they would do it.

"Pick that gun up, press it to your temple, and pull the trigger" He sets it up as a suicide.

Or he can just overload your brain with information, blood dripping out of your nose and ears.

OR if he doesn't feel like doing that he can just put you in a coma or a seizure. Or maybe he can just shut down your brain forever.

He can make you believe you are a entirely different person. He can project more pain in your head then you ever felt in your entire life. He can bring out your most darkest memory.

Henchmen? Don't fool yourself. He can take control of your mind, make you forget about your entire life. He can make you forget your name, age, EVERYTHING. And force you to do errands for him.

Magneto? He can make a army of mutants and have them fight for him.
