wada sez: Loweck and Valbuena reunite for their final Mosaic strip, this time focusing on Tracks’ friend Raoul from “Make Tracks” and “Auto-Bop”. A few Easter eggs here! Raoul’s fictional brand of spray-paint is called “RE-DECO”. He’s wearing a t-shirt for The Warriors. The school is named after Sunbow Productions, the studio responsible for the cartoon; Sari Sumdac and Chip Chase are seen on the steps. HasTak is a collective term for Hasbro and Takara often used in Transformers fandom.

wada sez: Windcharger’s bio by Bob Budiansky mentions that “Windcharger is the fastest Autobot of them all - for short distances”, so this strip clarifies that Windcharger is the fastest Autobot of them all, for short distances, unlike Blurr, who is faster over longer distances. Wheeljack and Windcharger end up together here, leading into them jobbing offscreen.

wada sez: Chromia was one of the female Autobot resistance force on Cybertron in “The Search for Alpha Trion”, in which she had a thing with Ironhide. Gherkin has observed that Chromia was likely named as a counterpart to Ironhide! The black triangles in this strip are Cybertronian “tetrajet” Seekers, in case it’s not obvious. Beautiful art here; this creative team would reunite for the followup strip “Heart Of Iron”. Clean inks below.

wada sez: Mainframe is an impersonal Action Master scientist, assisted by his partner Push-Button. Windmill is a Europe-exclusive Action Master Elite. Slamdance’s background cameo here draws on his role as a reporter in War Within: The Age of Wrath, ahead of similar appearances later in IDW’s run. Valvolux is an obscure city on Cybertron, lifted from Ruckus’ original Budiansky profile. Shockwave is perhaps the most notable absence from Megatron Origin, with only his blaster hand sneaking in an easter-egg appearance in issue #2. The title and contents of this strip are, of course, a tasteless reference to the famous 1946 poem of the same name, written by German pastor Martin Niemöller, professing guilt over not speaking out against the Nazis earlier in their rise to power.
