A truck came into our truckshop. This trailer had issues with its trailer alignment. We put a complete new brake system on this truck.  We repaired cam bushings. That helps in proper operation of a truck’s  braking system. We also fixed bearings, wheel seals, drums, equalizer and installed new adjustable arms on it. Our diesel mechanics completed the trailer alignment work on this trailer. We also did a complete state inspection for this trailer.

A little before, and a little after. This Showa shock was in dire need of service. The oil seal and bushing were so worn that there was no oil on the shock body! Luckily, no bore damage to the body, so it just needed a good quality rebuild. New seal head assembly, new bumper,fresh oil, some shock shaft polishing on the lathe, and a ton of elbow grease, and this one’s as good as new! This is indicative of the fact that your suspension is not working correctly.   In this case, the customer came for a state inspection and we found bad leaf spring bushings on both rear axles on his Peterbilt. The driver complained that the truck when loaded makes a popping noise. This is a common phenomenon that occurs due to wear and tear of the truck over the years. The center bolt on these bushings is what connects to the axle, which enables the truck suspension with leaf springs to work properly. If the bushing wears down and the center bolt breaks due to flexing of leaf spring, that is fixed by U bolts. U bolts are torqued at the specification to ensure alignment of leaf spring.
