Known as the Tales of Mash Up on Tumblr.
There hasn't been a murder in Lhant in over ten years. So when former Major Victoria is slaughtered in the street, the whole town is terrified. Determined to protect his expecting wife, brother and adopted daughter, Lord Asbel Lhant will do anything to guarantee Lhant stays peaceful even as the war rages outside of Hyland Kingdom. As he struggles to keep his composure, his province sits on the cusp of pandemonium. The killer, a mysterious woman from Gand, claims she's Sister Velvet Crowe. Moreover, she refuses to answer any questions until she's allowed to negotiate her release. It's an unbelievable claim. Everyone knows Velvet Crowe has been dead for the last decade. However, when Lhant's resident priest Sorey finds evidence to back up all of her claims, all hell breaks loose.
"Asbel swore that as long as he is Lord of Lhant, blood would never darken the streets of his province again. Hyland's war is over. Leave the battle with Elympios to the rest of the world. They did their part. Yet as viscera zigzags through the cobblestones of Lhant Port, Asbel can't help but feel the war claw at their doors again. "

Tales of Mash Up Excerpt
As expected, she looks entirely mundane. Long black hair, shorter than he thought, conspicuously mended clothing; she honestly just looks like your average farm hand. She knows how to hunt if the way she sliced Melinda is anything to go by. Even with those heavy cuffs, she’s nothing unusual. He [Asbel] could have mistaken her for someone from the outer villages near Lhant Hill. Yet, she’s missing something a normal human should have:
Remorse.
The Courtroom becomes a powder keg. All it takes is someone to light the fuse. Lhant isn’t a violent place. This is a civilized town with good, civilized people who don’t let their anger get the better of them. Asbel realizes in a panic that they didn’t even think to check for weapons. He’s never had to keep his keep his friends and neighbors in check like this. Silently, he stands to his feet unbeknownst to Hubert. He places his hand on his father’s sword - a silent threat. The tension eases again, this time reluctantly. Mason, Melinda’s Neighbor, exits the courtroom and hands the guard a hunting knife on his way out. Asbel sits back down with Hubert so his brother doesn’t hear him.
“State your name for the record.” Hubert demands.
“Velvet Crowe.” The Murderer says. Her accent...she’s not from Kimlasca or Malkuth.
“Velvet Crowe, you are hereby accused of the Premeditated Murder of Melinda Bell. ” Murmurs of discontent arise. The fuse is lit. Hubert fights to stay impartial. “This is the first murder Lhant has seen in over a decade. You have refused both legal and religious counsel. You have no one to defend you. How do you plead?”
“Not guilty.” Velvet replies. She knows damn well everyone standing behind her wants to see her hang. Some might even want to kill her themselves. She doesn’t care.
