Wat Phan Tao in Chiang Mai, Thailand 🇹🇭💯😊🙏 Wat Phan Tao is one of the older temples of Chiang Mai in the old walled center of the city. The first structures were likely built towards the end of the 14th century. Wat Phan Tao, meaning “temple of a thousand kilns”, probably derives its name from the ovens used to cast Buddha images for another temple, the Wat Chedi Luang, which is immediately next to the Wat Phan Tao. The viharn of the Wat Phan Tao was originally a Ho Kham, a throne hall for one of Chiang Mai’s Kings built in 1846. . . #travelthailand #beautifulthailand #discoverthailand #ilovethailand #thaiculture #thailand_allshot #thailand_ig #thailandgram #thailandinsider #thailandismagic #thailandphotography #thailandtourism #thailandtrip #lostinthailand #unseenthailand #wheninthailand #tourismthailand #discoverasia #loveasia #total_asia #travelinasia  #visitasia #seasiatravel #southeastasiatravel #southeastasiatrip #südostasien  #travelsoutheastasia #visitseasia  #beautifulseasia #thisisasia (at Wat Phan Tao) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cpo8GGZsH_H/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Minor Hotels, a leading global hospitality company with over 550 properties across 56 countries, has defied seasonal trends and delivered a robust first quarter of 2024. Their impressive performance, exceeding both revenue and profit expectations, highlights the resilience of the travel industry and Minor Hotels' strategic approach to portfolio management. Minor Hotels Outperforms in Q1 2024 Surpassing Expectations: A Financially Strong Start to 2024 Minor Hotels reported a net profit of THB 530 million for Q1 2024, a significant accomplishment considering the historically slower first quarter for European hospitality. This achievement can be attributed to several factors: Sustained Travel Activity: The continued rise in global travel demand played a crucial role in Minor Hotels' success. Despite challenges like seasonality, strong demand helped offset historical patterns and fueled positive revenue generation. Revenue Growth Across the Board: Core revenue for Q1 reached THB 29.6 billion, reflecting a substantial 17% year-over-year increase. This growth reflects healthy rate increases across the group's portfolio, particularly in key regions like Europe and Thailand. Strong Performance from Owned and Leased Properties: Minor Hotels' owned and leased properties emerged as a significant contributor to the company's financial strength. These properties accounted for 80% of core hotel and mixed-use revenues, showcasing a 21% year-on-year increase. This growth underscores the effectiveness of Minor Hotels' ownership and management strategies. Management Income Surge: Management income also saw a significant leap, rising 26% year-on-year. This growth is likely due to a combination of RevPAR increases across managed hotels and the addition of new management contracts throughout the year. Defying Seasonality: Europe Shows Positive Signs The European hospitality sector typically experiences a slow start to the year. However, Minor Hotels, with a vast portfolio of nearly 300 properties in Europe, managed to defy this trend. Here's what contributed to their success: Continued Global Demand: As mentioned earlier, sustained global travel demand transcended regional seasonality. This robust demand helped generate strong revenue and narrow Minor Hotels' quarterly core net loss to THB 968 million, a significant improvement compared to Q1 2023. Regional Strength: Thailand and Middle East & Africa Thrive Beyond Europe, Minor Hotels reported positive growth across other key regions: Thailand: Occupancy rates in Thailand demonstrated a remarkable improvement, with an overall increase of 10 percentage points compared to Q1 2023. This surge resulted in an impressive average occupancy rate of 80%, exceeding expectations. Middle East & Africa (MEA): Hotels in the MEA region also enjoyed strong growth, with occupancy rates rising by 11 percentage points to 65%. This positive trend was driven by popular brands like Anantara, Tivoli, and NH Collection. Rising Rates and RevPAR Fuel Profitability Another key contributor to Minor Hotels' success was the positive growth in Average Daily Rate (ADR). Here's a breakdown of this growth across different regions: Global Rate Growth: System-wide ADR figures for Q1 saw a positive increase of 11% year-on-year. Owned properties played a leading role in this growth, with a 14% year-on-year increase in ADR. Thailand's Strong Performance: In line with its remarkable occupancy figures, Thailand again emerged as a top performer, demonstrating a 12% increase in ADR across its properties. Europe and the Americas: While not experiencing the same magnitude of growth as Thailand, Europe and the Americas still displayed a positive trajectory. Rates in these regions saw an average increase of 13% when calculated in THB terms. This translated to a significant 18% growth in RevPAR (Revenue Per Available Room). Overall, system-wide RevPAR saw a 19% year-on-year increase. Notably, owned and leased properties significantly outperformed expectations. These properties experienced RevPAR growth of 21% compared to the prior year and a staggering 35% increase compared to pre-pandemic levels (2019). A Bright Future: Continued Expansion and Growth Dillip Rajakarier, CEO of Minor Hotels and Group CEO of Minor International, expressed optimism for the future based on these exceptional Q1 results. He highlighted the "agility and dynamic nature" of the company's global portfolio as key factors behind its success. Additionally, strong forward bookings suggest continued momentum and an exceptional year ahead.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) made a powerful statement at the 2024 Arabian Travel Market (ATM) currently underway in Dubai. Leading a delegation of 64 Thai tourism entrepreneurs and associations, TAT showcased the nation's diverse tourism offerings and forged strategic partnerships aimed at attracting more visitors from the Middle East. Thailand Shines at Arabian Travel Market A Strong Presence at a Global Event ATM 2024, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre, is recognized as the world's third-largest tourism promotion event this year. TAT's significant presence demonstrates its commitment to expanding Thailand's reach into the lucrative Middle Eastern tourism market. Compared to 2023, the TAT delegation witnessed an 18% increase in participating Thai entrepreneurs and associations, highlighting Thailand's commitment to this region. Unveiling Thailand's Treasures The Thai pavilion at ATM offered a one-stop shop for exploring Thailand's tourism landscape. Visitors interacted with representatives from a variety of entities, including: Hotels – Explore a diverse range of accommodation options, from luxurious beachfront resorts to charming boutique hotels in bustling cities. Shopping Malls – Discover Thailand's vibrant shopping scene, featuring everything from traditional markets to modern shopping centers. Water Parks – Plan an action-packed day of fun for the whole family at world-class water parks. Spas – Indulge in a rejuvenating spa experience and discover the art of Thai massage. Guided Tour Services – Tailor your dream itinerary with expert guides who will lead you through Thailand's most breathtaking destinations. These diverse offerings represent just a glimpse of what Thailand has to offer tourists from the Middle East. Strategic Partnership for Mutual Growth Beyond showcasing destinations and services, TAT secured a strategic partnership agreement with the Dubai National Air Travel Agency (DNATA). This collaboration aims to co-promote tourism to Thailand by leveraging DNATA's extensive network of partners. Major airlines like Emirates and Qatar Airways are included within this network, creating a powerful platform to connect Middle Eastern travelers with unforgettable experiences in Thailand. Optimistic Outlook for Tourist Arrivals TAT's leadership team expressed optimism regarding the growth potential for Middle Eastern tourists visiting Thailand. They project to welcome at least 1.1 million visitors in 2024, exceeding the 867,674 arrivals recorded in 2023. This anticipated increase can be attributed, in part, to the popularity of Thailand's "Green Season" (May to September) among Middle Eastern travelers seeking respite from the region's hot summer months. The influx of tourists from this market is expected to generate 100 billion baht (approximately USD 2.8 billion) in tourism revenue, further bolstering Thailand's economy. Beyond the Numbers: Understanding Traveler Preferences While targeting a numerical increase in visitors is essential, TAT is also focusing on understanding and catering to the specific preferences of Middle Eastern travelers. The "Green Season" preference highlights a desire for cooler temperatures. Additional insights may reveal demand for halal-friendly dining options, family-oriented activities, and culturally sensitive experiences. By tailoring their marketing efforts and collaborating with local tourism providers, TAT can ensure that Thailand remains a top-of-mind destination for travelers from the Middle East.

Thailand Extends Visa-Free Welcome to Indian Travelers for a Period of Six Months!
Exciting news awaits travelers planning a visit to Thailand over the next six months! Starting from November, individuals holding Indian passports will have the privilege of visa-free travel to Thailand. The Tourism Authority of Thailand's Director has confirmed that this opportunity will be valid from November 10th, 2023, to May 10th, 2024.
Thailand is actively working towards boosting its economic development, with a key strategy being the promotion of tourism from countries such as India, China, Malaysia, and South Korea. Given the gradual nature of Thailand's economic recovery following the pandemic, it aims to address trade deficits by enticing tourists from Southeast Asian nations. Notably, in early September, Thailand had already waived visa requirements for Chinese visitors, allowing them a stay of up to 30 days.
Thailand boasts a diverse economy, with agriculture, manufacturing, and tourism serving as pivotal sectors. Each year, millions of visitors flock to experience its stunning beaches, idyllic islands, rich historical sites, and lively nightlife. Among the renowned destinations are Phuket, Chiang Mai, Ayutthaya, and the Phi Phi Islands.
Bangkok, the bustling capital, stands as Thailand's largest city. Other significant urban centers include Chiang Mai, Phuket, Pattaya, and Ayutthaya. The country's cultural landscape is deeply intertwined with Buddhism, the predominant religion. Temples hold great significance, serving as focal points for spiritual and cultural pursuits.
Sri Lanka has also extended visa-free travel for Indian citizens, allowing this privilege until March 31, 2024. According to the Henley Passport Index for 2023, Indian passport holders can relish visa-free travel or visa-on-arrival access to 57 countries, which encompass destinations like Bhutan, Cambodia, Indonesia, Barbados, Hong Kong, Macao, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and more.
If you're considering a trip to Thailand, you may be setting out at an opportune moment, given that the holiday season is approaching with Christmas just around the corner. However, if you've chosen to visit a different country that necessitates a visa, feel free to get in touch with VisaMint Overseas Services for comprehensive support with immigration.
