Have said often that the poetics of Dybbuk Story are best described as "the intimacy of collaborative exegesis"; one of the most intense and erotically charged scenes involves Malkele (dybbuk) taking Julia's dictation and writing notes in the margins of the text they are both reading, Julia's notes and observations, but in her own script, her own stenographic shorthand, possessing Julia's body, shaping Julia's hands to her own grip and cursive, having Julia relinquish control of Logos and her corporeal form to focus on her stream of consciousness, trust that Malkele will match the shape and speed of her thoughts, that they will be in sync with one another, voice and hand, one mind. Anyway the way Jelonka writes about re-reading the articles she typed for Stefania, all the weight of "sekretarzowałam jej wtedy...", the dative case demanded by the verb she neologizes and the relationship, grammatical and otherwise, it implies--well. Jelonka and Stefania remind me a great deal of Malkele and Julia.
