A gentle humming rang throughout the secluded little cabin, a festive tune only accompanied by the sound of crackling from the fireplace as the fluffy little monster busied herself in the kitchen, preparing a treat while she waited for her elder sister to return home from a hopefully fruitful day’s work. It was the least she could do for her as she stayed inside on the snowy day.

The house was already smelling of cocoa by the time the quaint quiet was broken by knocking at the door, making her ears perk up in surprise; they didn’t get visitors that often, all the way out here... maybe Dess just had her hands full? Must’ve been it.

A few approaching hoof clops from inside later, and the door is finally pulled open. “You could’ve just called out, you kn... know...?” The reindeer at the door started with a pleasant smile, both her words and expression trailing off in surprise as she was not met by the familiar sight of her elder sister carrying far too much firewood, but someone... taller, with a scaly hide and big sharp teeth.

One might’ve thought that scariness was what would’ve elicited the shocked gasp that followed... and they’d be wrong. It was the fact she was soaking wet in the cold.

“OH MY GOSH, YOU’RE GONNA FREEZE TO DEATH! OH GOSH-!!!” Instantly, with much panic but little hesitation, the smaller snatches the other’s clawed hand and starting urging her inside. “Come in, please, please! It’s warm in here!” 

She wasn’t lying, even with the sheer cold just outside, the cabin was positively toasty; well insulated to keep the winter chill out and keep the heat of the fireplace in. The fire which the reindeer would lead the other to and be quick to sit her down in front of.

“You really should’ve dressed better before coming all the way out here, stranger! You could’ve scared a girl half to death!” Or, well, she DID scare a girl half to death.

But, that’s beside the point. Right now, she’s just trying to keep this newcomer from passing out (or worse) inside her house- tossing a blanket around her that she didn’t mind getting wet.
