Thinking about how one of the main messages of X-Men is that you shouldn't try to fix people, you need to help them on their own terms
#like literally#professor X tried to fix a lot of people in his life and it never went well#The government tried to fix mutants and that ended up being genocide#Whether out of love hatred or fear you can't fix people#You can't just take away people's problems before they have the chance to try and solve them#Then they'll never know how to solve those problems and they'll never be able to help themselves in a healthy way#And if you try to iron out in someone what YOU see as a problem#Then you're just taking away their individuality again#Their right to be human#Both options fail to take into account that people need to be allowed to solve their own problems#They will need help but that doesn't mean jumping in and removing the problem#It means nudging them in the right direction and making tasks more manageable#And it also means accepting that certain things don't need to be fixed#Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's hurting anybody#Leave it alone
