bro so many people on here are under the impression that strikes are a burgeoning communist revolution it’s killing me
#Comments going like ‘concessions will ultimately be rolled back we need to keep the momentum up for total liberation’#yea duh but if you’re under the impression that’s the goal of most union organization you will be disappointed#They are looking for concessions. They are looking to better protect workers here and now within the system that currently exists#Union membership and activism is Generally left leaning but it encompasses a pretty broad spectrum of political alignment#The percentage of union activists who are anti-capitalist is going to be pretty small. It’s not the revolution. I’m sorry#Which also don’t take this as ‘unionization isnt so great actually :/‘ its my firm belief that#action that still seeks to improve conditions for people existing now (even if not inherently anticapitalist) and revolutionary action#that seeks to overturn current systems and create a better world are things that can and should happen simultaneously
