Mache Facts - Great God Grove Spoilers ahead !
Uses any / all or no pronouns [Either must switch sets every time a pronoun would be used or refer to Mache strictly by name]
No gendered terms. Must be spoken about in a way that is comparable to an object or a mysterious entity. Not "the man watched from the corner" more like "the outline of Mache's frame could be seen in the corner."
The Drain has a variety of people and beings- Andromache is from a group called Gutterbirds. It's seen as a derogatory term. Mache has no issue with the term, but if you ask others of the group they may prefer the self-appointed term 'Starbirds' [Yes, it's a play on starboard as most folks who use this term leave the Drain.]
If pressed, the Bizzyboys may mention that Mache could be part of the "Bon Moat" or "Mutterlions" with no further explanation.
Mache doesn't like to entertain the idea that xe are a person.
Despite this, fea are quite active in hobby clubs around the city. Mache can often be found in internet cafés, salvage yards, and libraries.
Joining the clubs were accidental. Mache came there to watch and got roped into participating.
Met Hector while he was still mortal and forming the Bizzyboys' group. Mache thought he was rather charming and allowed socializing to help with his computer work.
It went all downhill from there. Utter unspoken devotion to Inspekta. From the sidelines. Ignore the shadow by the campaign van, this means nothing.
Has a strained relationship with Capochin that is entirely one-sided. Mache never intended to take a role in Inspekta's life, the two just happened to share the same space. Mache was the quiet company Hector apparently needed. And Mache would be remiss to not say that he gave the acknowledgement and understanding that it never knew they could have.
Capochin and Mache do end up re-connecting after Hector steps down from godhood. No one quite gets his deal like Mache does and despite being in contact with the former deity, Cap trusts that Mache wouldn't pass along any information without complete consent.
Eventually realized he was kind of obsessed with Mache. That's like, indication of something.
Oh fuck, he has strong feelings for the thing.
Hector Voice Join da club !
Post-festival Mache would slowly gain a sense of personhood as the three hashed things out. Not without major pushback.
Drain mentality, y’know ? Life down the gutter, useless beings, trash, history encased in darkness and muck.
It's easier to do when Mache has been present in most of the community services and events, in some capacity. Less of an observer than they thought.
"Observing is participation. You've always been involved. Sometimes a space-filler is a role."
"All-sew yew helped put da letters and pamphlets together."
"That was a major part."
Touch-averse with everyone (except Hector) but winds up getting comfortable used to it because of Patty.
The first time Capochin touched Mache's hand he froze and gasped for air for several minutes. Then went bright red, steamed, and hid from the boys. Later came back and asked to try again.
Mache has shockingly soft fingertips.

Finally. Mache. Full-bodied. Mysterious being become person of interest. Pissed to be involved. Glitter in the gutter-bird.
