The last thing Hemlock needed right now was to meet someone new. But Lenovo was convinced that he and Lenovo's friend would get along very well. He begrudgingly agreed figuring he needed something anyway to celebrate the news that he was going to be a dad. Still trying to get used to that idea...He'd been waiting with gilen, who was rambling on about the cute Tattoo Artist he had met the other day. Hemlock nursed a glass of whatever Gilen had ordered for him. He kept looking to the door, waiting for them to walk through.

Only when he stopped looking though did he feel a hand pat his back. "Oh Lenovo! hey man...where's-" that's when his eyes drifted over to small brunette next to Lenovo. He felt his heart flutter a little. No it wasn't great timing, horrible timing even but Hemlock smiled softly "Hey! you're Cassie right?" He signed before putting his hand out her to shake. "I'm Hemlock...." He hadn't even noticed Lenovo slip away. Though he figured he'd go right to Gilen which...he was right. "so how bad of a rep did Lenovo give me. Be honest! I can take it" He teased.

Well you just gained 3 new ones. He chuckled softly nudging her a little with his shoulder. I can't completely speak for Jareth or Gilen but I can say I'd like to see you around more often. Its nice to have new people around. i won't admit it but sometimes I like it went were not always hanging out together. He loved them like brothers, however he felt out of place sometimes when it came to the group. snorting an laugh he shook his head Don't worry we don't expect you change anything about yourself. It goes against everything we believe in he glanced at Gilen and Lenovo with a soft smile, despite the jokes he really did want them to be happy and together. I'm sure he'll figure it out. Gilen isn't one to not tell Gilen everything. I think he tells him stuff first before telling me and Jareth honestly. I Found out he owned the shop from Lenovo. a little frustrating he thought, so maybe the group needed to work on communication a bit.

A lawyer? so you get to hear all about who is suing who for whatever greedy reason they can come up with? Hemlock hoped to avoid something like that at all cost. Its refreshing to hear someone is immune to his charm, seems like he can get anyone wrapped around his finger. it came in handy sometimes, but usually it gained an Eye roll or two from the friend group. I suppose that's all someone would want from an employer. I got lucky and started working for myself pretty early. I've hear the stories from others though. What do you do there?

Cassie just shrugged as he apologized. It didn't bother her much anymore. I don't... have many friends. They didn't have any friends, really. They had Umbra, they supposed, but no one.... normal. But that's true, just don't expect me to dye my hair anytime soon. She also subtly turned her body to have a more private conversation about the pair at the table. Jareth? The other one there? I may not know much about relationships, but I think that may just be a sign for Lenovo to, and excuse my phrasing, but shit or get off the pot.

She's a lawyer; so not particularly complicated, they shook their head. I don't know if I think he's particularly charming, but he is witty. I like his sense of humor though. Cassie paused for another moment before continuing. Pretty much my entire life, I suppose. I owe them for a lot. I know they can come off as a little intimidating, but they've always been very good to me.

Really?, I'm sorry to hear that. He reached out to them and gently touched her arm Well I'm glad you seem to have made it out alright. He nodded softly, though he was smiling. Mostly Just from watching her talk . Multi talented, my kind of person, were all like that here. I think Lenovo was right trying to include you with this group of rag-tags. We're mostly nerds but even the Losers club needed their Beverly.. his brows furrowed, but made sure only she could see his hands so Lenovo wouldn't try to kill him for what he was about to say. Oh please! those two have been at it since highschool me and Jareth have a bet to see how long it will take for them to officially get together. He's winning... though Gilen was just talking about a Tattoo artist that came in the store so...maybe there is trouble in paradise.

Hemlock nodded and waved down a waiter to get her order in. Somewhat? Sounds complicated he chuckled and shook head It's pretty interesting that he has probably met your mom before he met you. I'm assuming you fell for his charm and quick wit like we all did or did you want to punch his face? He has that effect on people. He rose a brow at the mention of her job, Skyport? That's impressive... they're a big name right now. How long have you been working there?

I mostly speak to him, but... I had a very strange childhood. I didn't start learning to speak for a very long time. That was putting it mildly. A lot of people assume it's because I can't hear or talk. I can do both. This is just what I learned first. She followed his gaze to the pair, raising an eyebrow. Oh - so it's obvious to you, too? He keeps telling me it's just a business arrangement. I don't think that's true.

She hesitated for a moment. She didn't usually drink - she was almost always working. But.... she was supposed to be having fun. Sure; okay. Just a martini is fine. God, what a loaded question. She took a moment to come up with an answer before she started again. No; however, my mother is somewhat involved in DrakeTech. Lenovo and I.... met by chance. She didn't want to expose the fact that Lenovo worked for the mob - he seemed to hold that close to his chest. It wasn't frowned upon to discuss her work; but they felt like it would scare Hemlock. All the same.... she didn't have the time to think of a lie. I work with Skyport.

They were more beautiful than he expected. I do He smiled softly he mentioned it in passing. I like being able to communicate with everyone so I kinda learned from a young age. He mentioned sheepishly. It came in Handy when it came to meeting other people in the book world. Hemlock felt his cheeks flush a little and shot Lenovo a pointed glare I think he sold me a little too well, I don't think I could ever compare to King. But it's appreciated. Did he say that after or before he rambled on about Gilen. His head tilted to the one Lenovo was sitting next to..

He pointed to his drink are you going to have something? Just let me know, I'll cover it. He felt like they were there because of him and Lenovo's insistence that he'd meet Cassie. So what do you do Cassie? How do you know Lenovo? Are you at Drake tech together?

At 5'7, Cassie was a handful of inches shorter than Lenovo, and tended to tread in his shadow when they were together, and today was no exception. Honestly, she had half a mind to grab his hand in a moment of vulnerability and weakness, but suddenly they were at the table, and she stepped just to his left; now in view. Hemlock was.... not what she expected. She wasn't sure yet if that was for better or worse - until he started signing.

You know sign? Despite their expression staying neutral, their eyes were sparkling. Did Lenovo tell you this was my preferred way of speaking? She slid into the booth, giving Jareth a small wave who looked like he just wanted to leave now that he was sandwiched between two pairs. He said you wrote horror novels. Like Stephen King. He didn't mention you could sign.
