Sebagai warga alumni sedulur lima yang di solo, kurang pas kalo ga ikut meramaikan dan menyusun agenda (walau akhirnya sih ya let it flow saja wkwk). Tetew yg konon katanya akan menjadi bapak bapak 4 bulan lagi kurleb, ternyata selain kata Gibran masi tolol, baru bisa ketemu hari Ahadnya. Yowes Sabtu yo mung lewat ae, gek ndang Ahad.

16 Juli 2023, hari dimulai dengan kedatangan mas mas semarang motoran, dari Semarang. MJ, Ben. Dan seperti biasa, tikum andalan Solo, Lazuardi, dengan tuan rumah yang pergi ke kondangan di Jogja, tapi rumah tetap terbuka. Jam 9. Kelar lari 15 km, leha leha dululah, baru habistu otw. Sampe di tikum, udh agak ramean, langsung diajak Nando, main bowling ke bengawan sport.

Eh, ternyata tutup, kata Mas yg jaga "wong sing nulis ng google wes mati mas, kowe rene terakhir kapan?" setelah Nando sedikit memaksa dan tidak percaya kok tutup. Yowes, timbang gabut, mending madang, ke... Mixue. Waktu boleh berlalu, tapi ketololan dalam kebersamaan masi 11 12 lah, asal mlebu toko, ora tuku kabeh, sok rame dhewe, ng kursi tengah, ngarep pintu, ngobrolke kui ne Nando. Edan.

Ora sue, lanjut, madang neng Kumlot, mergo aku ra seneng Mixue, kemanisen, ora wareg, malah eneg. Po meneh bar mlayu, sarapan e mung telor orak arik karo sego sak centong, iseh kuranggg, mangkane lanjut kumlot sisan, pok we, murmer. Nikmat.

Balik ko Kumlot, dzuhur, solat, bar kui nggabut dilit, bali nang omah, ngerjakno revisian job dilit, sisan turu mergo nguantuk. Bar ashar kelar, moro meneh ng Lazuardi, eh wes do lungo bowlingan, otw nyusul.

Lagek pertama kui, ndelok bowlingan langsung. Awal e ora meh main, tapi mergo ronde ke loro sepi, karo seh enek slot, yowes lah, itung2 njajal dolanan bowling sisan. Tur tur, taada kesenangan yg dinikmati sendiri, akan selalu ada celah bagi MJ untuk meroasting, yg pekok yo pekok e lah, yg tida pekok ya... mesti tetep ono pekok e, golek wae. Ngguya ngguyu, seneng, wes jarang ketemu dibanding pas iseh mondok mben. Kelar bowling, sholat, madhang, ngobrol, solat, ngobrol lagi tukar kabar, pamit, sampai ketemu lagi.

Ya tulisan ini, cm biar ingat aja, karena mungkin bisa jadi, bukan sekarang cerita ini penuh hikmah, tapi mungkin 1 2 3 atau bahkan lebih tahun lagi, ketika sengaja atau tida, terbuka, dan terbaca kembali. Makasih

Viajando a la zona maya en auto pt. 14. Chunkanab, Yucatán

El 2 de enero lo comenzamos de nuevo en el ministerio público, cuando llegamos había algunas personas ya esperando y poco después de las 10 de la mañana llegó el funcionario que podía levantar el acta sobre la pérdida de mis identificaciones y licencia de manejo. Se trataba de un señor ya mayor pero que parecía bonachón y con bastante buen humor, por lo que mi trámite no fue desagradable, sino bastante ameno.

Con ese papel en mi poder me sentí más tranquilo para manejar el resto del viaje, así que regresamos al hotel para recoger nuestras cosas y salir definitivamente de Valladolid hacia Oxkutzcab, mi base acostumbrada para las visitas al Puuc y su tremenda cantidad de sitios.

Nuestra ruta fue bastante rara, tomando carreteras que nunca antes había recorrido: salimos con rumbo a Tepich, Quintana Roo, pero justo antes de cruzar a dicho estado nos desviamos cerca del pequeño pueblo de Xtobil; nuevamente cambiamos de camino en Chikindzonot y seguimos pasando Ichmul y luego Peto, para arribar al puuc por su extremo sureste y evitar el retén que siempre está bajo el puente de la carretera que comienza desde Mérida.

Tomamos la carretera vieja que pasa directamente por Oxkutzcab, me pasó por la mente intentar algunos sitios pero decidí dar prioridad a Chunkanab en Tikum, considerando que sería el más sencillo, en realidad no lo fue tanto...

Llegamos hasta el poblado cercano y dejamos el auto en una de sus orillas, justo al pie de la sierrita de Ticul, que tiene sus últimas elevaciones en aquella zona. Buscamos el sendero para subir, el cual se nos había dicho estaba sobre una calle que partía de la iglesia; al no ver por ninguna parte una brecha grande nos decidimos por lo que parecía un sendero delgado que ascendía en una zona con vegetación baja y espinosa, sin embargo de pronto se perdía y nuestro ascenso fue muy penoso, a cada momento teníamos que rodear áreas muy cubiertas de maleza.

Cuando por fin llegamos a la cima no pudimos ver ningún rastro del sitio que buscábamos, nos dirigimos hacia el este, puesto que la ubicación aproximada que yo llevaba se encontraba hacia aquel lado; así pasamos por dos o tres lomas bajas, encontrando solamente un montículo de buen tamaño, pero justo antes de llegar al punto indicado nos encontramos frente a un pequeño valle donde no se veía nada en cuanto a vestigios, así que decidimos probar suerte caminando al lado contrario, craso error.

Estuvimos dos o tres horas subiendo y bajando cerros, encontrando de vez en cuando plataformas y montículos, además de sartenejas y otros vestigios de piedra tallada, pero ningún edificio en pie. Llegamos hasta el punto más alto de la zona y el resultado no fue diferente. Finalmente encontramos un ancho camino y pensamos que nos llevaría al sitio, pero terminamos junto a una cabaña desvencijada y encontrando una gran sarteneja, pero nada de lo que estábamos buscando.

Contacté a mis amigos que habían estado ahí, pero los datos que me daban eran los mismos que ya tenía; luego de un gran desgaste nos negábamos a rendirnos, así que decidimos que lo mejor era bajar al pueblo y pedir nuevamente indicaciones.

Finalmente fuimos afortunados, preguntamos a un par de jóvenes y uno de ellos nos mostró la calle por la que debíamos ir; caminamos bastante como para decir que la distancia desde la iglesia era mínima pero finalmente llegamos al inicio de una gruesa brecha que ascendía a una zona muy cercana a donde nos habíamos detenido en nuestro primer intento... ¡únicamente nos había faltado cruzar el pequeño valle que vimos y detrás de una línea de árboles estaba Chunkanab!

Nos encontramos con un señor que nos contó sobre la existencia de varias cuevas más adelante, ofreciéndonos llevarnos en alguna ocasión futura. Ya era tarde, así que nos apresuramos a alcanzar a una familia que en ese momento estaba caminando hacia el sitio.

La subida a partir de ahí era sumamente fácil, en unos minutos nos encontramos con una gran plancha de piedra en forma de huevo que Balta me había comentado que se encontraba en la entrada al sitio, entramos a un sendero junto a lo que parecía un montículo y, finalmente, llegamos de frente a un gran edificio que mostraba tener una buena cantidad de habitaciones en todo su perímetro. 

Antes de comenzar nuestro recorrido nos detuvimos por un rato, ya estábamos bastante cansados. Me tomé un tiempo para montar el tripié y acomodar las cosas de la cámara y luego subí a un montículo bajo que resultó ser una extensa plataforma que no tenía ningún rastro de edificio en su parte alta.

Regresé al primer edificio y pude ver que la totalidad de la fachada se encontraba caída, dejando solamente en pie los muros traseros de todos los cuartos en los costados que miraban al oeste y al sur. Por este último costado se encontraban los restos de una escalinata volada que debió llevar al techo, aunque no parecía tener un segundo piso.

Por ese lado había varios senderos, Ernesto caminó por el que estaba al centro mientras que yo me dirigí al más lejano. Cerca de 50 metros adelante me encontré con un pequeño estanque lleno de agua y algunos restos de terrazas que rodeaban una zona más alta.

Ahí el camino giraba hacia donde había ido Ernesto y en efecto, lo encontré frente al edificio mejor conservado del lugar. Se trataba de una extraña estructura ovalada con una entrada parcialmente caída. A su lado derecho había restos de paredes y una posible escalinata que llevaba al techo o a un segundo nivel totalmente destruido; del lado izquierdo estaba otro montículo que conservaba una habitación, había un gran mascarón ya muy dañado sobre su única entrada; y ambas moles se unían al centro por una habitación cuyos muros extrañamente se habían colapsado sin que el friso superior cayera, quedando como si fuera un puente elevado entre los dos cuerpos principales del enigmático edificio. 

La imagen denotaba a la vez la grandeza y la ruina del edificio, no podía dejar de mirarlo y de fotografiarlo; me recordaba las antiguas fotografías de Teobert Maler, ahí cubierto en parte por maleza y mostrando sus vacilantes paredes cerca del colapso.

A unos metros de ahí me encontré con un montículo piramidal que parecía ser el punto más alto de Chunkanab, pero que ya no conservaba más que unas cuantas hileras de piedra en su lugar. Seguimos un tercer sendero para regresar y llegamos a nuestro punto de partida junto al primer edificio y la gran plataforma a la que subí primero. Ahí terminó nuestro recorrido, el cual fue breve debido a que el atardecer ya había caído, pero también uno de los más interesantes del viaje.

Regresamos muy cansados al auto y recorrimos el último tramo hasta Oxkutzcab. Llegamos al hotel Puuc, donde siempre me hospedo, y salimos a cenar al centro, en el mismo lugar donde un año antes terminamos varios días de exploración.
