Krone feiert 20 Jahre BiG X - Ein Erfolgsmodell wird 20

Am 20. Mai 2000 rollte der erste Krone Feldhäcksler mit dem Namen Big X aus der Krone Fertigung in Spelle. Der Selbstfahrer startete als 40 km/h Schnellläuferausführung zu den ersten Testeinsätzen und wurde als 540-PS-Bolide kommuniziert. Mit dem neuen Big X komplettierte Krone sein Maschinenprogramm, das seit 2000 die gesamte Futtererntekette umfasst. Der Big X kam mit der Gras-Pickup EasyFlow und dem Maisvorsatz EasyCollect auf den Markt.

In das Krone Häcksler-Konzept flossen viele Anregungen aus der Praxis ein. So präsentierte Krone vor 20 Jahren einen Häcksler, der schon damals Features hatte, die zwischenzeitlich auch von anderen Herstellern übernommen wurden. Dazu gehörten z.B. die Transportgeschwindigkeit von 40 km/h sowie ein vollhydrostatischer, stufenloser Fahrantrieb auf alle vier Räder. Weitere technische Merkmale in Kurzform: Antriebsaggregat 397 kW/540 PS, 6 Vorpresswalzen, eine Häckseltrommel mit 750 mm Durchmesser und 830 mm Breite sowie 32 v-förmig angeordnete Messer. Das gesamte Big X Konzept war von Anfang an auf höchste Durchsatzleistungen ausgelegt. Zugleich ermöglichte ein modularer Aufbau des Häckslers den schnellen Zugang zu allen wichtigen Funktionsgruppen.

Im Jahr 2000 rollt der erste KRONE BiG X aus der Montagehalle und wird der Öffentlichkeit gezeigt.  Übrigens, der damalige erste Big X verfügte tatsächlich schon über 605 PS, aber eine PS-Zahl größer als 600 wollte Krone 2000 noch nicht veröffentlichen, da man Sorge hatte, dass eine solche Maschine von den Praktikern als deutlich überdimensioniert aufgefasst werde könne. Inzwischen hat Krone weltweit rd. 5300 Feldhäcksler verkauft und bietet den Big X in acht verschiedenen Varianten in zwei Baureihen an; vom kleinsten Big X 480 (mit 490 PS) bis zum Flaggschiff Big X 1180 (mit 1156 PS) an. Im Laufe der vergangenen 20 Jahre entwickelte Krone eine Vielzahl von Häcksler-Innovationen und Alleinstellungsmerkmalen, die maßgeblich zum Erfolg des Big X beitrugen. Zu den bemerkenswertesten Features zählen z.B. AutoScan, AutoStop, die Biogas-Trommel, ConstantPower, EasyLoad, die Liftkabine, OptiMaxx CornConditioner mit 305mm Durchmesser, VariStream, VariQuick, VariLOC bis hin zu XtraPower, das Krone erst auf der Agritechnica 2019 präsentierte.
