Simple Ideas for a New-Construction Home

Hi, my dear friends! How’s life? Things are busy at our home. I have been doing a lot of cooking and tying to get things ready for Christmas as much as I can because I really want to be able to enjoy Christmas this year. I am not sure if this happens with you, but sometimes we get so overwhelmed with all of the things we need to prepare for Christmas that we barely have time to sit down and enjoy the beautiful moments we’re creating together with our loved ones. I don’t want to feel as if “it went by too fast” this year. I want to be able to seize the moment and enjoy this special time of the year without missing out on anything. I am eager to continue making memories with my family and I don’t think there’s anything more important than that… or anything that will take my attention from that.

But before Christmas is here, we certainly can divide a little time of our attention toward this newly-built home, right? Built by Altura Homes with interiors by Lauren Smyth and staging by Andi Marshall (recently featured here & here), this new-construction home is packed with simple ideas that you should take a look at, especially if you’re planning on building your dream home in the new year. Here, the designer shares some insights on this project:

“This was a Spring Parade Home that was featured here in Boise in a part of town that combines traditional, high-end suburban homes with a new demographic of young people or people from out of state so I wanted to take those two worlds and blend them together. I worked from the idea of traditional finishes and styles done in a modern way. I brought in familiar finishes like red brick, black and white buffalo-check and subway tile and mixed them with today’s color palette and styles. The install of the checkered pattern on the floors and shower wall in the powder bath is where this idea really shines. This home is modern yet familiar, “new meets old”, nostalgic while still being fresh, which is exactly what I was going for.”

New-Construction Interior Design Ideas

Hello, my dear friends! How wonderful it is to have you here on Home Bunch. I didn’t feel well this week and that’s why I am running a little late with my posts, but I am grateful to be feeling MUCH better and being able to share this new-construction home with each and every one of you.

Recently built by Altura Homes with interiors by Lauren Smyth and staging by Andi Marshall, this new-construction family home has many inspiring interior design ideas and it shows that you can beautifully decorate a home without breaking the bank!

Here, the interior designer share more insights on the design:

“This home is currently featured in our Fall Parade of Homes here in Boise, Idaho. My thought for the style of this home was to go with a soft, neutral palette that felt polished yet still easy to live in. I love the mixture of luxe and simple, high-end finishes that don’t feel too intimidating. I added a really beautiful herringbone carpet on the stairs which functions perfectly for that space but adds a touch of interest and pattern to the area which instantly elevates the stairs. The rest of the home is subtle and classic.”

Exterior Details (Take Notes – this home features a great exterior color scheme!): Truwood Channel Rustic Lap Siding in Sherwin Williams Dorian Gray SW 7017.

This modern farmhouse kitchen features beautiful light grey cabinets and island with black accents.

The perimeter and island countertop is Caesarstone Blizzard Quartz with 3 cm eased edge. Durable, sleek and perfect for these cabinets!

Sink & Faucet

The white Kohler Whitehaven sink complements the white quartz countertop.

Kitchen Faucet: Delta Trinsic 9159-BL-DST – This kitchen faucet is often recommended by the best builders and designers.

Dishwasher: Bosh 800 series.

Kitchen Cabinet Style

Kitchen Cabinet Style: Flat panel, shaker style with 4″ flat crown. I love this type of cabinetry – it’s sleek and works perfectly with this modern farmhouse style.

Cooktop: Thermador 36″ Rangetop.
