Do riders get paid for races they can’t attend if they are out injured?
Hi there anon! 👋👋👋👋
The short answer is yes. However it's more complicated.
In MotoGP clearly is yes. remember than when Marc was out for so long, there was rumors of Honda giving Marc a pay cut, because he was missing so many races (and other sources says it was Marc himself who offered to cut his salary). We are talking about a pay cut, not taking away the salary. Then again, at that moment Marc was the highest paid rider (and he probably is still, but we don't have the number).
Now in Moto2, Moto3, MotoE and even in the WSBK paddock (including WSSP, WSSP and probably WWCR but not 100% clear yet), some riders are paid riders. They pay for the seat by convincing their sponsors to join. In those cases is more tricky. In desperate cases, specially WSSP and WSSP300, we see riders and teams cut their contract when the rider is injured or post injury and we can assume it could be due to lack of payment. It's not the norm, but it can happen.
We also see in cases when you know it's a long injury and a statement comes when they say team and rider parts amicably. Probavly the team needs a replacement, and the money, or the official rider feels guilty. They also don't publicly say what's behind the close doors
So it's a yes, but look carefully in some cases.

I think another thing that should be discussed when bringing up the topic of WWCR is how demoralizing it can be when you’re separated into another category based on your gender.
I am assigned female at birth and played multiple sports as a kid. I pretty much quit all sports once I was moved from a co-ed team to an all female team where we only competed against other girls. While I could outplay a good chunk of my male teammates, it signaled to me that, because I identified as a girl at the time and people perceived me as female, that I was not considered as “good” as my male teammates, and that was one of the worst feelings I ever experienced up to that point. It didn’t encourage me at all, because it signaled to me that, no matter how well I did, being a “girl” mattered more to people. And so I quit.
The “separate but equal” thing thrown around is bullshit. These women deserve to be competing alongside men in the same categories, not to have their sport segregate them into a different competition based on the gender they were assigned at birth.
There were a million and a half other ways to do this, but the fact that this was the approach take signals to me how little they care about these women and how much they want them to fail and not compete.

About Ana leaving Moto3 - what is the ‘segregated category’ ?
So FIM introduced the FIM Women's Motorcycling World Championship this year and it's supposed to start next year. That championship is a mess from the start.
It's supposed to run alongside WorldSBK, but was presented during the MotoGP weekend. It's a championship were women will race with the bikes homologated for WorldSSP (or WorldSSP600), which for starters it's a downgraded for some riders because there are some that compete with 1000cc bikes. Plus WorldSBK has shitty coverage and will only allow access to race, if you are lucky!
There's also the problem that FIM said is not a ladder, basically women will only race there, but when trying to sell the idea for women in the paddock to explain why it's such a good idea, they told it's a ladder. Plus there's already an all female championship the Women’s European Talent Cup.
Also it's not written in stone that Ana is leaving, but it looks like it. She wants to stay in a mixed category (for fuck sake's she is the 2018 WSSP300 World Championship), but sponsors are something important and apparently she is lacking them. BOÉ had to fight and convince sponsors for Ana to have this second year. So let's pray for Kawazaki to take her back to WorldSSP300 or do the move to WorldSSP she was hoping for before getting the Moto3 opportunity

Happy women's day to Ana Carrasco, who is the only female to have won a championship at a velocity class (mixed) organized by FIM (WSSP300)
I'll make a more detailed post later but for now happy women's day to Maria Antonietta Avanzo who was refused a seat in a team in 1921 because they "wanted all cars to make it to the finish line" only to be later accepted and arrive 3rd in her cathegory, giving Tazio Nuvolari a hard time.
Happy women's day to Ada Pace, who stood on the podium alone because the 2nd and 3rd classified drivers could not tolerate standing on a step lower than a woman.
Happy women's day to Maria Teresa De Filippis, the first woman to drive in F1, who could not race in France because the organizer told her " the only helmet a woman should wear is a hairdresser's".
Happy women's day to Lella Lombardi, the only woman so far to conquer points in f1, who was asked if she was just a pretty doll in an interview.
Happy women's day to Giovanna Amati, who raced for Brabham in a terrible car and was used as a PR stunt and received minimal support.
Happy women's day to the girls and women racing today, hoping for a better future.

Tuit to appreciate MARÍA HERRERA by X user Swinxy and Translated by me.
First and only woman to win in CEV (Aragón 2013)
First and only woman to win in the FIM CEV (Jerez 2014)
Female with the most races in the points in the Championship (8) equaling Tomoko Igata
Female with more points (12), best result (12º) and more races scoring (7) in the Supersport Championship (WSSP).
Racer with the most finished raced consecutively in MotoE.
Scored points in FIVE categories in the World championship: Moto3, WSSP300, WSSP, MotoE and WWCR
First polesitter* and first winner of the history of the Female Championship (WWCR)
Only winner in Spain in 600 and 1000 (cc)
Only female to score podiums in ESBK Supersports** and RFME CEV Superstock 600***
*They use the word Pole-woman, but I refuse to use that word because we don't say poleman, it's mostly polesitter. So I'll stick with the gender neutral word.
**The 600cc category of the Spanish SBK (like WSBK but only taking place in Spanish circuits.
*** How it was called the ESBK before it was called ESBK. And Superstock 600 would be the equivalent of WSSP, but the bikes are street bikes or bikes even less modified than in WSBK
I just limited to translate the tuit, the data isn't mine. I only added the parts in the brackets or correct the nomenclature in some of the championship names like WSS to WSSP because it was write wrongly

I’ll never forgive the FIM and Dorna for this
I’ll never forgive them for making these women think that their careers are over and this is the final step for them, for lying to them about this being a springboard championship
I’ll never forgive them for their misogyny and masking it as progress when it’s nothing more than segregation under a different name
But most importantly,
I’ll never forgive the culture and society for allowing this to happen

hey waru i've seen you get a lot of 'informative' asks so i want to ask who is your favorite rider(s) from each category :))
Hi there anon 👋👋👋👋. Yeap I've been having a lot of 'informative asks' recently and I'm not sure why, so this is a nice change.
So this is completely personal, and I don't have a real reason (not ryding style, on and off track, etc,). To be honest, I like most of the riders, so this is why I get happy for them when it's the first time X rider wins or get a pole or does well after a rough period of time or a injury.
MotoGP: Luca and Rins are my absolute favourite, then Brad and Iker a step even behind Aleix and Joan. In MotoGP my absolute favourite and the one that I'll always cheer for is Dani Pedrosa.
Moto2: Fermín is my absolutely favourite now. Then goes Izan (he is not up there with Fermín because of his lack of track content, but I usually go feral with him), Arón, Darryn and Joe. And step behind, Tulovic, Salač, Alonso and Bo.
Moto3: Ana is my favourite. Then will be (no particular order) Diogo, Ortolá, Holgado (although his cockiness off track some times is off putting), David Muñoz, David Alonso, Deniz Öncü and Ayumu. Collin is growing on me.
MotoE: I like all of them, but the ones I find wanting to win the most are Garzó, Pons, Mantovani, Torres, Krummeacher, Manfredi and Okubo, of course María is my bae. Honestly? I like all the grid. I think all of them deserve better.
I know you only wanted the MotoGP paddock, but this blog is pro-WSBK, so here is my list too
WSBK: Gerloff, Toprak and Basanni (in that order) and like a step behind Iker, Xavi, Rinaldi, Van der Mark and Baz.
WSSP: Yari Montella, De Rosa, Mantovani, Van Straleen, Spinelli, Sofuoğlu, Can Öncü, Caricasulo and Tuuli. I might like Huertas too, but I'm not really sure if it's due all the praising Spanish media does or if it's genuine
WSSP300: Buis, Veneman, Bijman, Di Sora, Gennai, Geiger, Lehmann. But it's difficult to keep up with this grid.
I do watch the Road to MotoGP: Red Bull rookies and sometimes the Northern talent Cup, but it's dificult to keep up with the kids or with the European Moto2 and JuniorGP.
Thanks for the ask anon. I don't know if this reveals (or not) something about me.

The fact that, in Sara’s latest interview, she basically said “worldwcr can either be a last step or a springboard championship” says everything you need you know about wwcr. It’s a trap.

And WSBK is bringing the whole gang WSBK, WSSP, WSSP300 and the round debut of WWCR.
By the way this year there isn't an Israeli rider and WWCR had proven to be a platform for WSSP, so you better watch those girls. Also their Superpole and Races are for free on their YouTube channel and can be watch live or on demand

I wish we had WSSP300 race direction. They would have red flagged the session, put them in a naughty corner, a.k.a parc Fermé and threaten them to not let take part in the session if they don't behave just to send them on track again with less time
